Are any of you that upgraded from the T2 finding the T3 a huge improvement? or is it just minor differences with AF speed, better video capabilities etc?

I did hear on a Fuji forum that the XF 56mm is a damn site quicker to focus.

We need some full proper tests, as well as a load of forum images. The DR should have improved but by how much (1/3 stop and maybe a little more as the base ISO is now 160)?? The AF is obviously snappier, and a couple of gig photographers I know have said (and I've seen images) that the higher ISO is definitely better, this appears to mainly due to less blue noise in the blacks, allowing them to comfortably to shoot up to 25,600.

Both the X-T2 and X-T3 are great cameras, and at £600 or so part you need to decide if the 'extras' of the X-T3 are worth the extra investment.

For my type of photography, more slow and deliberate, I'm sticking with the X-T2, more interested in the GFX50R (and the subsequent deals that will be offered with that and GF lenses, Black Friday is coming)

Once I get mine this week, then on Wednesday next week I am shooting a Church gig inside, so looking forward to that but the hardest one for me will be in a small pub in the evening.

The XT2 is certainly tempting, since the last FW update I believe it's gotten even better. I personally don't shoot anything that would be considered fast moving, and my ISO limit is about 3200 in general. If I decide to give Fuji another go I might go for a mint, used XT2 and possibly upgrade in the new year. Cheers

Personally I'd go higher, especially if the shutter speed is dropping. Programs like the NIK suite Dfine make a pretty good job of cleaning up the image

I love little outings like this, and he's right, not only do plants and flowers look better in a shower, but you more or less usually have the place to yourself too :)

Just shoot in Acros and remember it’s Black and White. Not various shades of grey.

Not having a pop at the photpgrapher but she doesn't look that welcoming and friendly to me. I think you're right about the hair.

I think you did a good job, but agree about the hair over the eye plus maybe a portrait crop.

Well, when I downloaded it yesterday, the blurb on the site said something like 'congratulations for downloading the 30 day trial'.
Seems to have changed now.

But thanks for the clarification that it's really cut down, so not worth looking at unless I wanted to go for the full pro version.
I'll stick with LR unless the RAW convertor proves to be light years ahead of adobe's.
 
Called into Jessops today to drop off my tradein and they had a hands-on session with the X-T3 plus the new 8-16mm XF lens. Only £2k (!) or thereabouts... This was the only one in the country allegedly . It's wide! But as big and as heavy as my 16-55 and no filter thread.

I had a look at that lens when I went to the touch and try session at jessops last week. I wonder if it’s the same one.
 
Just taken off the net of one user who is happy.



Finally got my T3. Still very early, and of course I am impressed with early adopter stars in my eyes. This is what I've noticed thus far. Nothing that someone else haven't noticed already though.
  • The overall build quality is excellent. Really excellent. Only thing I'm skeptical about is the new, stickier type grip rubber. Will it loosen and fall off like the T1?
  • The tactile feel of buttons and dials feels considerably better than my T2. Near perfect now in size, response and resistance. Even the metering and drive mode dials feels better.
  • The EVF is awesome. Crisp and smooth even in moderately low light (F/2.0, 1/40th, ISO 3200).
  • AF seems snappier and face/eye detect definitely works a lot better than with the 3rd gen bodies.
  • The new shutter modes and high FPS continuous shooting modes are nothing but impressive. It's tracking like there's no tomorrow as well in them. Blackout is pretty much none existing.
  • The pre-shoot mode is intriguing and will be fun to experiment with.
  • Rolling shutter seems minimal. At least on the cars driving by that I tested it on.
  • The video settings. Woah. They mean serious business. Makes me want to shoot video. It's not just about 4k/60p. But a lot of other refinements like zebras, different mic gain settings and filters ++.
  • Really liking the Color Chrome Effect and the B/W Warm/Cool. Need to test the color chrome effect more though.
 
Tamam? Karnagio used to have some green chairs but it's gone now. :(
