Agree with David's suggestions above - the 18-55 and 14 is my go to travel combo for the reasons cited above.

Primes - I don't have the 16 ('make do' with the 14 for my wide angle) but concur that the 23 1.4 is great and extremely versatile.

Zooms - I use a combination of the 18-55 and 50 - 140. With a 2x TC in the bag I find that this covers what I need.

It all depends if you are a zoom or prime person, if Zoom then I would suggest the 10-24 (and 18-55). For me I usually find stuff below 14mm a bit too wide for my liking (and the inevitable distortion). I used to have the 14mm, but bought the 16mm last year, sold the 14mm and bought the Samyang 12mm for those times when 16mm wasn't quite wide enough. The 16mm is a stellar lens, possibly one of the best Fuji Primes and very very sharp (its also WR)

I think my choices would be from one of the following:-

Zoom Solution
10-24
18-55

or if you want WR then 16-55 and probably the new 8-16 when released.

Lightweight, Compact Solution
14
18-55

both lenses share the same hood and filter ring size, no WR but great lenses

Prime Solution
16
23 F1.4 (its sharper than the F2, but if you want WR then the F2 is the one to have)
option Samyang 12mm - although I have it, I'm not a great fan, the colour rendition is very different to the Fuji lenses)

Whilst I am no great landscape photographer, I do enjoy shooting them, and sea scapes and agree with the above.

The 10-24 is my go to travel/out & about lens and you can shoot just about anything on it. My general day bag consists of one body with 10-24, plus the 35 f1.4 (if I want something with really short DOF) and the 50-140 f2.8.

If I am going out with landscapes in mind, then I have my second body with the 16mm f1.4. I use a square filter system so the different filter sizes isn't a major issue as I have a couple of adaptors.

As I tend to shoot wildlife, I have 1 body set up for that, but the 2nd body with the 10-24 & 35 1.4 are always with me, you never know when you are going to see something that needs a wide angle. I keep thinking about the 23 f1.4, but fear if I bought one it would everywhere with me too, and I went to Fuji to keep the weight down :rolleyes:

Thanks to everyone for the help with the lens choices and a thanks for the reminder about filters from Jelster. I have a large collection of Lee 100mm filters including stoppers, polarisers and hood. I'm hoping that with the addition of a couple of adapter rings, all my filters should work with the Fuji system. Has anyone experience with Fuji and the Lee 100mm filters?

I have the Lee 100mm system and it works great on the Fuj... Luckily, the 16 & 10-24 are different filter sizes, so I just have an adaptor on each. I have been known to have the two bodies set up on 2 tripods at the same time... Not that I lack confidence or anything :D

I`ve only got three lenses, and am pretty happy with them all at the moment. 23 f1.4 (stays on camera most of the time) 56 f1.2 and 80 macro. They seem to suit my needs for now, although the 10-24 is nagging away a tad ;)

Yes, you need the 100mm kit if you have a 10-24 so that's what I have, though I use a Hitech Firecrest holder. Frank can vouch that it looks utterly ridiculous on the 35mm 1.4!
 
Just a simple Fujigraph taken at Dungeness Kent UK of one of the many old boats scattered about the beach that have just been Left To Rot. In the lower right corner of the frame is part of one of the old railway lines that were used for hauling the boats or catch up the beach from the sea.
I'm also working on a personal project called Things Left Behind and this will be one of the shots included.

“I’ll do my best just for you Sir, it might be difficult though as @Mr Perceptive said I should stop using my 55-200mm, so I did just to keep him happy. And now you want me to stop using my 10-24mm. I’m a wonderin’ what a guy’s supposed to do in this situation. On second thoughts don’t answer that” :D:D

Haha I think I`m yet to see a bad image from the 10-24, so keep going my friend :) Christmas is but around the corner ;)

The 10-24 is one of my favourite lenses, it's just brilliant and every Fuji should have one!!

I love photos of old boats, especially in mono, and as usual George, you don't disappoint. Lots of details and nicely exposed.

Very nice Fujigraph Sir, really like the presentation with the mono & green colour. I've seen many of those old Morgan vehicles but just looking at the engine I never realized before just how long those push rod tubes were, its surprising the push rods inside didn't whip about and break.(y)

George, I agree, but they were pretty low revving, and only about 28HP back in those days. The engine on the current 3 wheeler is quite different:

At first I thought the V twin in these was either a Harley or a Victory, but it turns out they are specifically for the Morgan by a US company, S&S who specialise in making motors for Flat Track racing.

Apparently the XT-3 is rumoured to be announced on the 6th of September. I thought Fuji tends to introduce the XPro line of cameras before their XT cameras?

Don't think there is any fixed order. Remember there was no X-Trans2 Pro but there was an X-T!! It wouldn't surprise me if the X-Pro2 isn't 'upgraded' for some time, more likely to see X-T3 and X-H2 first

About time, I got sick and tired of it getting nudged every time I changed ISO on the X-T1. Not so much an issue on the 2 though with the different locking button.
