Where is this - and what is the line of 'stakes' nearly on the horizon. Intrigued. Looks like a good fishing spot - like those Marloes Sands shots, that looks good for a fishing trip too!
 
Really liking this X-T2 :fuji:that I've acquired from Peter, and now looking at getting the 16-55, so if any one is looking to sell, then let me know. I have a wanted post on the forum. :ty:

But it gives a better idea than the others of what it's really like, so long as you imagine a very long stretch of golden sand behind me. Check the size of the rocks in the background. It's like they split away from the cliff and slowly walk down the beach. Which in terms of geology may not be that far off the truth...

New firmware released for the X-T2

  • 1. New AF tracking algorithm for moving subject
    Thanks to the newly developed image recognition algorithm, the update enhances AF-C to track moving subjects twice as fast as previous firmware. In addition, the update also enhances tracking to be able to capture up to 50% smaller moving subjects than before.
  • 2. Support "FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO" for Macintosh
    Once connecting a camera to a computer via USB cable, the "FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO" enables users to convert RAW files with X Processor Pro. The fast batch processing will also be available. The "FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO" can be downloaded from the FUJIFILM website for free.

    *"FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO Ver.1.0 Installer for Macintosh" can be downloaded from the URL below.
  • 3. Improve radio flash controller usability
    　The upgrade allows users to shoot with compatible third party studio flash in high speed sync. or TTL mode via their radio controllers.
  • 4. Support for backup/restore of camera settings via "FUJIFILM X Acquire"

This is at Shoebury Beach, near Southend in Essex. The stakes are a WWII defence boom, designed to stop submarines from entering the Thames - here is an old shot of it (not taken on a Fuji, sorry !)

I cannot see how IBIS will work given the projected image circle size and the physical size of the X-Mount. The only way I can see that it will work if they effectively reduce the image size when in IBIS mode, to allow for the shift, so perhaps in 'normal' mode the image will be 6000x4000 but in IBIS mode it will be 5900x3933 for example.

I'm ready to be proven wrong, but I think the laws of physics will play here.

BTW loving the latest Olympus ad for IBIS show free runners blurry feet........ IBIS has its place but it is not a solution to all problems!!
 
anyone tried the fw update and checked focus speed? its early i know!
update won't be coming to x-pro 2 until late December.
 
I've just tried the new fw with a x-t2 and the 100-400, and it does seem to focus slightly quicker I would have to say, but I guess its lens dependant too.

Thanks David this was edited on a old laptop and looking it on the desktop I got to agree with you I probably haven't calibrated the laptop for a while.

Got a link? Surely they're showing that you can stabilize the frame, rather than a runner's feet in motion? :LOL:

I used to buy a magazine, or two, every odd week. I have to say, I did learn a lot from them when I first got a dslr, even entered some of the competitions and would do the monthly projects they'd set out for readers. But over the past few years they seem to be more advertisement rags with the odd article thrown in, and they've gotten ridiculously expensive. I do hit Easons now and then and have a flick through them, that's kind of an Irish version of WH Smith I guess?
 
Aye, the prices have gone mad! Still do check the library for free emagazines, I'm guessing they'll do them over there too, hard to beat free.

You might not, and neither do I - but I can ask about! Thanks, interesting the submarine boom is stil there - there is one in the Solent too, granite blocks, and they claim many propellers every year! The most famous one was that of Fabio Buzzi at the start of ther Round Britain Powerboat Race (2012 was it? Summat like that).
 
Guys - this XT-2 upgrade thing. Is it something you send your camera back to Fuji for, or can main dealers do it?

Do you keep the card in the camera?

Anyone close to Uttoxeter prepared to show me how to do it please - I am not confident.
