Will do Scott, just not sure when it's going to be. Not a lot of spare time to give it a good run out between now and Christmas.

Someone on AVForums has a 50-140 + TC for sale by the way.

I saw that mate but you can buy a refurbished lens for under 1k so I wouldn't be paying anywhere near that.

I've had 2 bodies for a number of years now. 6D & 7D/7D2 was my last Canon set up. I had a T1, but I just didn't like jumping between the two menus, so went for a 2nd T2.

That seems odd to me. I would have thought it was resolution-independent. Any particular module? I use mainly Color Efex Pro 4 (small bits of) and Silver Efex Pro 2 (all my mono conversions). Occasionally a bit of Dfine if really needed.

Edit: but I only ever use my Dell monitor for editing

I am contemplating getting a 23 f2 for the X-T20 or exploring the option of a X100T or X100F. I've used the 16-50 and 27mm on the X-T20 and enjoy having the fixed lens as it makes you think more about the composition of the shot.

Due to time nowadays I only really take images of the family or the kids activities when going out or meeting up with friends and family. A phone camera sometimes doesn't cut it hence like to use my camera whilst others in the group get grainy blurry mess.

How is the X100T at capturing family moments? Is the auto focus quick enough to nail the shot first time? Is it worth spending a lot more on the 'F' for my limited use?

The 23 f2 would make the X-T20 a tad bulkier hence started looking at the X100 series but haven't ruled it out just yet.

Has anyone switched between the two and able to give their opinion?
 
Surely the 23 isn't much bigger than the other two. It's meant to be almost identical to the 35 f2 and that's tiny.

It's a little longer than the 35/2, but the complete package is quite a bit bigger than an x100 series camera (which has half the lens inside the body), which is why I've been considering one too :)
 
Sorry mate I thought you meant the difference in size between the 23 and other two lenses. Never used the fixed lens cameras.

What about the 18mm? Similar focal length to your friends grainy blurry phone shots.

After a few days of thinking about it, I went to buy a 23mm this morning and the price has gone up overnight!
 
Fuji kit (possibly others too?) has got quite a bit more expensive over last few weeks, at least in UK.

Not just about currency as Yen has dropped against Sterling. So I presume it's to do with costs and margins.

Indeed. I do wish I'd ordered last night now though :(

Reconsidering if I stick to a 50mm equivalent now!

same with the 16mm. went up considerably too.

double cash back is on now though until the 27th i think...must resist the fuji sirens

All of these amazing shots have made my mind up to get the XT2. I'm just stumped as to what lens to get. I need a full frame 35mm equivalent and something about 90mm.

What a simple shot, but very effective. Excellent.
 
Three shots of the Jubilee Line tube from a wander yesterday. XT1+Samyang 12mm for each.

1. Canary Wharf - everyone does this shot but after several tries this was the first time I managed to find this exit from the station

Was thinking the same thing Trevor! Ian - have you used some long exposure trickery or was it really that quiet? I ask because I'd like to try some shots of Christmas lights in town and was thinking how to 'remove' people.

Particularly like the colours, lines and symmetry in number 3.

Yep. Was also thinking super long exposures. But I suspect ‘security’ would take a dislike to tripods.

Bit of both - two quiet stations and one with a ten-stopper. I guess a ten-stop would help with people but there will always be somebody who doesn't move. There was a guy sitting on the side of the escalator while I was at Canary Wharf but just when I figured I'd have to clone him out he moved on. If you have a decent tripod though, take a few shots with a ten stopper and blend them and you can probably remove almost everyone. For Christmas shots, though, I would think that having blurry ghosts of shoppers might look better. I plan to try and get something like that from some busy Tube stations one day

I actually posted the wrong version of shot 3 as I have one where I removed the blue sign on the left exit and the partial sign on the right one to enhance the symmetry. My pp isn't good enough to get rid of the speaker over the exit on the left or the extra way out sign left of centre, otherwise it would be even more balanced.
 
I am trying to send a Fuji NP-W126 battery to someone, via either post or courier, but I'm getting conflicting advice from various sources, as to whether I can or not. From what I've read so far, you cannot send any via RM, full stop, unless its part of something else like a battery charger. When it comes to a courier then it becomes even less clear.

Does anyone know for certain, whether I can or not, or do you just lie about what's actually in the parcel, as some people online have suggested.

You can buy these things online and they are delivered like there are no restrictions, so why shouldn't we be able to.

I lie - I think that the risk is minimal. Make sure that it is well packaged with no possibility of the terminals shorting though.

Right I've just come back from the PO and showed them what it is I'm sending including a cheap charger, and they have said that yes you can send it. I have actually put the battery in a retail Fuji battery box, with the plastic enclosure that the original battery came in. So it actually looks like a new battery. So fingers crossed.
