The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Quick test of the 50/2 WR today...a bit long for what I was shooting though!

Very nice Fujigraph Sir, lovely expression, with beautiful soft warm tones. Great Stuff.(y)

Beautiful shot, your daughter is adorable, so photogenic. Our Emily was the same at that age, she's 10 now and runs away when I take out the camera :( it happens, enjoy while it lasts. I used to love shooting her old style, like Shirley Temple era :D -

Beautiful mono of Emily, one to treasure, as our children grow up so quick now.

Have been reading a lot today about Eric Kim, got to say I really do like his style of Making a photo instead taking a photo. Here`s two I made yesterday.

I actually cannot stand Eric Kim, I find him nauseating. He didn't come up with that either, it's a quote from Ansel Adams, I hope he isn't trying to claim it! But ... it's a personal thing, I find I dislike a lot of the well known youtube photographers, I think many of them talk out of their cake holes. On the other hand I could listen to Zack Arias all day, and I'm sure some people can't stand him either.

I bookmarked his Street photography just to read, so at the moment I am trying to find a street photographer to try and get some inspiration from plus b&w :)

I didn't even know he had books, i just seen him on youtube a few times. He seems a bit obnoxious and pretentious. Give Ted Viera a try, think you might like his style, he's so easy to listen to - he has the kind of voice that could soothe you to sleep :D
https://www.youtube.com/user/TedAVieira He does all B&W and shoots Fuji.

Lovely weather this week.

How do you mean? is it not shot using digital cameras?

Don't think I've seen photographic images as clear quality as high definition photography. Unless using the likes of a 100mb sensor could replicate this etc...

They are most likely shooting in 4K, some consumer level cameras shoot pretty amazing 4K footage nowadays, when it's professionally processed and edited it's always going to be on another level. I know they use DJI drones for Ariel footage now where they used to have to use helicopters. No matter what they use, they have teams of incredibly talented photographers, videographers and editors. It also takes them something like a week to get about one minute of good footage on average. It's a very dedicated job, can't imagine it works well for anyone with a family. I'm glad there are people so dedicated, because what they produce is often astounding. I often wonder what gear these docu teams are using too, especially for macro. They can get insane close ups of the tiniest creatures with incredible quality and lighting. But I bet the gear runs into the hundreds of thousands

Hi All

Does anyone have recommendations for where I could hire a Fuji XF lens? I'd like to use a 100-400 but doubt it would be a regular occurrence so wondered if there was anywhere that rents them?

Thanks

Dave

I have been considering going down the Fuji route for a while now as an eventual replacement for my Canon 5D2 and I finally got to handle both the X-20 and X-T2 in Jessops.
I must say, I much preferred the build quality and feel in my hand of the X-T2 which I kinda expected, but maybe not so much of a difference.

The trouble is I will be looking at buying a used model either way, and with my budget that means I am looking at either a X-T1 or a X-20, suddenly the choice seems much more difficult. Newer/better sensor and subsequent image quality, or better build/controls? I saw the Xpro-3 is now out, I don't really know where these sit along the other two product lines, but could it hint towards the release of an XT-3? If so the eventual drop in value of used X-T2's would make my choice a lot easier!

That would be the XE-3, not X-Pro3 that's just been released. Depending on the style of camera body you prefer, it's a close match to the XT20 [which I would prefer over the E3] - I use the X-T1 myself, great camera, does pretty much all I need atm, I only wish it had stabilization and touch screen. The X-T2 only offers one of those, a little better resolution and a quick AF joystick. You can find X-T1 for about £400, add a couple of used Fuji zooms, like the 18-55 2.8-4, and the 50-230 OIS II, for cheaper than an X-T2 alone.

Shameless plug, but have you thought about the X-Pro2, oh and I have one for sale in the classifieds.

Possibly a bit of an obscure question...
Has anyone ever tried to run a bracketing sequence when on Bulb mode, and if so what results did you get?

Just a simple macro/close-up Fujigraph of a Yellow Primula. With just a little bit of forward tilt added to the lens panel on this snap to increase the DOF.

X-T1, Schneider 120mm Makro-Symmer Lens, (Adapted Via A Self Made Lens Panel & Focusing Ext Tubes) 1/160th @ F11, ISO-200, Available Light.
