The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Just seen this application for a trademark from Fuji for a new camera range.

Rumour has it that this will be a completely new style of camera. Full frame, 65 megapixels and mirrorless.
It will be housed inside the same body as the present X-T2 but will have a completely different set of electronics. I don't speak tech so it's above my head, but the basics are that the camera will automatically set exposure for you. No need to worry about having the right ISO or aperture; that will all be set for you. Focal length will also be chosen for you regardless of if you are doing macro work or birds in flight. one lens will be infinitely variable. It's an end to Aperture priority, Shutter priority and the various P modes. It will be a fully variable and automatic manual mode.
Focus points will be an extension of the face recognition system already in existence. The main point of the picture will be identified and focus will be automatic, wherever in the frame that point may be. As an add on to this composition will also be automated. No need to worry about the rule of thirds, or wonky horizons.
There is to be a cloud based processing system. Your images will be automatically uploaded to your own Lightroom programme on the cloud. This comes with the camera and is included in the purchase price. Once uploaded automatic presets will process your images and prints will be forwarded to your home address the next day. Your subscription will last as long as you own Fuji cameras.
A new phone app is not thought necessary due to the degree of self control the camera possesses.
It goes without saying that the need for user controls has now passed. There will be an on/off button and a battery compartment door. This will give almost 100% waterproofing, and with no need to change lenses the camera can be used in a wide variety of environments.
Launch date is set for August 2018 and a target price is £1500 inclusive.

Seems like the answer to all our prayers.

You've got it right apart from the last two points. There will be no on-off switch because it won't be necessary. Nor will there be a battery compartment door as it will include a miniaturised nuclear power plant, producing endless free electricity.

Ah. You have more up to date info than I have. Won't it be wonderful?
Will we even need to take the camera out of our bag? Ideal for those holiday trips when so much else is on your mind.

Ah, you touch on another point. Fuji bags will have Helium sacs, enough to reduce the camera weight to a few grams.
 
Hi,

This is the one I'm using - Andoer Caden K1 - it doesn't fit loads, but I can get the XT20 + 50mm in one side and at a push the macro lens + flash in the other, with cloth, spare batteries\sd cards etc in the bit at the side.

Seems to work quite well and ensures I don;t load myself down.

Having bought my XT-10 kit about a year ago, I am loving the Fuji system. Went on holiday a few weeks ago and took the Fuji kit in a padded insert which I put inside another shoulder bag. This worked ok in terms of protection, but found it difficult to get stuff in and out, especially whilst walking. Ended up having to stop, take the bag off, put it down and then I could get access properly - sort of defeats the purpose. Also, I don't thing the bag distributes the weight very well so my back would ache quite quickly.

Having used Billingham for my DSLR kit, I'm thinking of the Hadley Small for the Fuji kit. I would typically have with me:
Fuji XT-10
18-55mm zoom
55-200mm zoom
Lens hoods
Cleaning stuff, batteries etc.
Might get a prime at some point too.

What bags are people using these days for this kind of kit?? I'm wary of getting a bigger bag as I'd tempted to shove more into it.

I remember thinking when I came over to Fuji that there was no viable macro option, how wrong I was!

The best thing too is, mum said I can have it tomorrow even though my birthday is in Sept. Then at Christmas I am getting the XF 55-200mm :)

My Mum used to do that with my Birthday & Christmas gifts bless her.
The 55-200 is a cracker and I'm sure you'll love it but meanwhile enjoy the rest of your kit.
I've got one of those Oshiro 60mm macros coming on Thursday so it should be fun playing with that.

I've got a 250 Dave, in what way did you struggle with it?
I haven't really used it to be honest but may do at some point although with the Oshiro now joining my Fuji brood, it may not be needed as I've always used dedicated macro lenses in the past and am more used to them.

I think the reason why I struggle a bit with the 250 is, once I got both the 150 & 250 it was always the 150 that I`d use. I think I just need to practice with it more :)

Cheers mate, really looking forward to getting my hands on it, I never thought I`d see the day to totally changing system, but so glad I did/have :)

Me too, I can't see me going back now either. The advantages of the Fuji far outweigh any disadvantages although I'm yet to find any to be honest, it's all good and loads more fun to use.

Wait 'til you try the Raynox 202 Sir, that'll really test your macro technique.(y)

"The 202 on the 55-200mm lens will get you between 16mm & 6mm scene view (4 times life size) without extention tubes"

I had to smile the other day, had been in town for a walk so had the X-T20 & XC 16-50mm on, just got on the bus to come home when an OAP said Now that is great to see, I said what do you mean and he said seeing a proper camera so well done :)
