No problem on any Fuji X camera I've used, X100, X-E2, X-T1 and X-T2, shot quite a bit at 10 mins plus without issues, so 2 to 6 mins is a walk in the park!

Well that was an expensive day out.;)

I'm back home in TN at the moment as it's just about time to get our cotton harvested. However as it was the 4th July yesterday I decided to treat our balers & staff to a day out in the 615. The day started of real good with us all being on the road by 07.00 and stopping for breakfast along the Interstate 40. We got to Music City (where I was raised) about 10.30 and headed for Broadway and the Tonks that were already buzzin'. I thought while I'm in town I'll visit a well equipped photo store with a couple of buddies just to see if there was anything that took our fancy.

"BIG BIG MISTAKE" They had the new Fuji GFX System in stock which I'd not actually seen in the flesh before yesterday and I immediately fell for it as it's just like a larger version of the X-T2 and felt real good in the hand. And for some unknown reason I thought I heard it say to me you really want (note :- Want not Need) this gear. I don't often completely loose my presence of mind and do crazy things like this but "Hey!! it was the 4th July".:)

Anyway the rest of the day went pretty well (So I'm Told) if maybe a little wild at times, and when I got up this morning I started thinking, there sure is a lotta boxes there to unpack.

Finally I'm guessin' you guys will be really dissapointed to know that I'm not leaving this thread or parting with my XT units, so I'm afraid fellow XT users you've still gotta put up with me and my rubbish on hear. I've just added a few things to my personal kit.:D

Well done George, awesome choice, which lens or dedicated lenses did you go for then to attach to the mighty GFX system....? Looking forward to viewing your medium format captures.

Well George, seeing as there's no dedicated GFX forum here, you'll just have to stick with us lowly serfs for a while! Just don't turn us too green! :notworthy: :puke:

No chance of that Sir, I absolutely love the XT part of the TP forum and all the folk who contribute to it. And I think everyone on hear knows of my feelings about the XT cameras, to me they are the way forward. I honestly cannot see any reason now to use a DSLR system.(y)

The following is as near as makes no difference Sir.(y)

23mm = 18mm FF

32-64mm = 25-51mm FF

63mm = 50mm FF

110mm = 87mm FF

lol, well its not the GFX, but all change my side too - just sold the 100-400, but not wanting to be without a longer lens just got a 50-230mm from refurb, so not all bad :)

Hehe, George you make my GAS tendencies look trivual :D Congrats, looking forward to the results, presumably not from an F1 circuit though ;)
 
I've been busy lately so the cameras have hardly been used. This is their first outing in a while, a couple of reds and a roe deer. I've taken hundreds of shots this week in Scotland but the interwebs is broken up here and I can't upload anything!!

I very seldom treat myself to gear Sir, and this purchase certainly wasn't on my radar.(y)

Most stuff that I purchase is for business use. I guess though that if this stuff works out well enough I'll out my existing MF kit and then apart from LF stuff I'll be 100% Fooj for everything.

Strange thing is though I don't get to do much studio work these days as I'm so heavily committed to my other sources of income. And yes your perfectly correct I can't see this stuff seeing an F1 circuit or any other race circuit.

I don't usually like flower shots much but those last two were very nice, I really must dig out my extension tubes!

A lovely set of pictures.

Who was the stunt rider? Craig?

I like the way it has handled moving subjects - how do you find the handling? Any quirks to it, or things to bear in mind? Got to replace my 4s kit that was lost following my crash....thinking of taking the opportunity to set up with XT2 - not sure about it yet, flash and lighting considerations to include in final decision.

Cheers Peter! I have to agree - whenever I contemplate buying a prime in that focal length, I have to seriously ask myself what difference I expect to see. At the weaker long end, wide open, there's probably some room for improvement. At the wider end, shooting at f8-13, I think it's going to be very marginal at best.

I don't, but did have one previously when I had an x-t10. Never took it off. Makes it a lot more comfortable. Stop being a cheapo and treat yourself.

The XF23mm F1.4 is noticeable sharper than the 18-55 between F8-F11 (and everywhere else!), but sharpness doesn't make a great picture!

The 18-55 rarely disappoints

Simon, if you have a good local stockist and you've used them a fair bit, see if you can get an introduction to the Fuji rep. I know they used to loan kit to pros to tempt them away from Canikon - they may still do so.

OK, a bit behind the curve here re: X Trans III, but my X-T20 arrived and...wow. It looks just like the X-T10, but just feels like a DSLR when shooting. I don't really know how to explain it other than everything just feels instantaneous. That aspect probably won't make much difference to landscape or studio togs, but for me chasing around after toddlers, it probably will. Looking forward to giving it real life workout later in the week, alongside my X-T1. I guess only then will I know if it's "new camera hype" or a tangible improvement. Feels good though!

What lenses do you have to capture the toddlers? Was debating whether to get the XT20 or go down Micro Thirds which I've had in the past but unsure of a lens setup for Fuji

The comparison I posted above with the D750 probably answers your questions. It's basically very, very good but not quite up to decent DSLR levels (i.e. D750) on balance. I guess it also depends if you don't mind the EVF, it's about as good as it gets in the X-T2 but I know some still don't like them.

No idea on the rider!
