The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

My 2x Nissin i60a flashes have arrived, fully TTL and HSS compatible with the Fuji XT-2 :D
Just need Nissin to release the HSS versions of their Air1 for off-camera shooting.
All I can say is about time Nissin!!! :D

Ian;

I'm speechless......! The colours in the second capture are utterly sublime. Exquisite Foojicolours and splendid photography Ian. Get either printer LARGE and have them displayed proudly on a wall, get selling them... wow

Regards;
Peter
Wow, high praise indeed. Thanks so much for the kind comments.

I agree re: the printing of them and they'll likely make their way onto the wall at some point. Dunno about selling mind you [emoji15]

Great picture George.

Seeing the quality of the shots in this thread is really giving me the urge to switch from dslr (especially since mine is playing up).

Thank you kindly Sir, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.(y)

"As a company I switched our staff photographers completely over to Fuji X-T2/Battery Packed units from D4s & D810 units late last year for all of our F1 & Motorsport work and none of us have regretted it in the slightest. And there is a whole lot more togs using the X-T2 gear at the events this year. In my honest opinion it's the way forward"

George.

Excellent macro. What ring flash are you using?

Thank you kindly Sir, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.(y)

"My ring flash is a "Meike Macro Ring Lite MK-14EXT", it's a Nikon fit one that I use manually on the Fooj and I have modified the light diffusion"

"There's a couple of shots of it mounted on my old D800 in post (#457) in the Show Us Your Macro Rig thread if you would like to see it, plus a bit of blurb of how I have modified the light output"

Wow! That's scary. Was it live or stuffed??

Thank you kindly Sir, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.(y)

"All alive and moving, they're very tiny things and I found this one on a Choisya leaf in my garden. Using this set up only gives a maximum of 11.5mm scene width with an X-T1. This was shot at about 2.5-3 times life size"

@Phiggys has had one of these from earlier this year if you want any user views/experiences.
Cheers for the heads up, I seem to be fine with my Vertical Booster Grip, I have a wedding to shoot next Sat so this will be a big test for my Fuji XT-2 as its the first time doing a wedding since the Sony A7RII :o :D

A standard battery easily lasts me all day. I still shoot as if it's film!

I forget my record, but it was beyond 1400 shots in a day with a standard ExPro battery in an X-T10 with it still going strong.

In other news, X-T10 and 100-400 on the way for me, so expect a bit more of this in this thread in the future...

It'll walk it Sir.(y)

"We no longer shoot weddings (voila):), but when we did the last gear we used were Battery Packed X-T1 units which we had no problems with whatsoever. A Battery Packed X-T2 unit in my opinion is up there with the very best and will easily handle the job. ENJOY"

Cracking pic! I'll be interested how you find the 100-400 balances with the XT-10.

The answer will likely be, not at all. With the larger lenses, even such as the 10-24mm, I find I hold the lens as much as the body. Works for me though.

I agree with this I always use one hand to support a larger lens so the balance things become a non issue for me.

Thanks maybe balance was the wrong word, wondered how it handled and if you have a grip of any type? Cheers.
