The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Love it George. Have you got one rotated 45degrees showing the hole with the thread running through ?

Thank you kindly Sir, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.(y)

"Unfortunately I haven't got a different angle shot, I didn't give it a thought until doing the PP work and then thought the very same thing as your goodself and was sure it would be brought up with comments etc. I realize now that a different angle showing the eye of the needle would probably have been better"

Just a simple Macro/Close Up shot taken of a Needle & Cotton. Lighting was provided by three studio heads each with a largish soft box fitted and against a black paper background.

That would be a great photo for a caption competition, think the 12mm does close ups pretty good :)

Must be one of the gentrified places to have hipster old bill

People....

Flash, do I go Nissin i60 which will give me wireless TTL, or get a couple of Yongnuo's and a TX. I've never really shot flash manually before, except with studio flash. A girl at work has asked if I can shoot her & her boyfriend one evening, which I'm happy to do, but I want to use OCF if possible (as we'll be in London that may not be a great idea...). Always shot with ETTL when I had my Canon gear.

I'm planning to buy 2 different flash. I get the Yongnuo 560VI and 560TX as a manual off camera system but I will also get the Metz M400 for hotshoe flash. The reason why I want the Metz is easy firmware update. I did think about the Nissin i40 but it seems like a pain to get the firmware updated.

Nissin should be releasing a update to allow HSS this month.

This is supposed to be my "travel" camera.

Just a simple candid street style shot taken at Canterbury of a young man with his Guitar doing a bit of street playing. And very good he was too.

I deliberately "Did Not" want to show his full face, hence this angle for the shot.

X-T2, 55-200mm Lens, 1/220th @ F4.8, ISO-200, Handheld.

A well-toned photo. And you've captured the essence of an audience with the lady in the background.

Great. Perfect timing with no fingers on the strings

After looking at some great shots on here in the Canon 5D classic forum I got mine out after about 2 years, charged the batteries and took it out for a few shots. My God it's so loud ! Jeez I had forgotten the racket DSLR's make, makes me appreciate my Fuji cameras so much now lol To be fair the 5DC still produces lovely organic photos, I'll never sell it.

Hey George. Lovely picture!

I had a macro lens like that with me on the other day and that made me think about buying an adapter as well. What do you use ?

"The adapter that I use is just a cheapy "Nikon Ai to Fuji-X" (all metal unit) from fleabay"

George.

Here some sample shot taken to test my 55-200mm on the XT1. The beauty of the Fuji lens is you don't know how sharp and beauty it is till you look at it on a decent monitor.

what is it with all the ptfe tape. It should be wrapped around the threads not on the outside.

No idea, was like that for a few years already. As always, don't fix it if it not broken lol.

Also depend how much you planning to spend on lens and what lens you want. No point blowing all the cash on the body then it leave you little choice on lens selection. All Fuji lens is superb and no crap lens at all, but you may want a fast prime like 56mm f1.2 but you don';t have enough budget because you bought an XT2.

I still thinks camera body comes and go but lens stay with you a lot longer.

Think I'm going to adopt this policy. I'm now looking to pick up an X-T1, probably with the 18-55 lens, then get my first prime to go with it. The X-T2 can come at a later date. I'd like to get decent lenses in my bag first and sticking with the X-T1 will allow me some money to do this.

I'll probably buy from the Fuji Refurb shop. I've had two cameras from them before and the service was good. Hopefully one of the discount codes still works. I think I'd like to try a 35mm, so am reading up on the old f1.4 vs the new f2.

Just got back from a week in Eigg, plus two days to get there and another two to get back. This was from my very first night, with the ever reliable 18-55mm. It took a lot of time and energy to get there, but it was an excellent decision :)

And the weather was fantastic, albeit I could have used a few more clouds at times. Still, for Scotland in early May to have a dry week is something like a miracle!

The 35mm F2 is my main lens on my X-T1, and I primarily do street photography. It is a fantastic lens! Nice and small, and sharp at F2, with lovely bokeh.

I recommended it over the F1.4, which my friend has. The extra stop is cool, but the images don't *feel* as nice as the F2. I have been shooting the X-T1 and 35mm F2 for a quite a while now, and love the combo.
