Not guilty, taken as seen, bit windier than your shot, no chance of reflections. Bit busy at the moment but fancy Dinorwig later in the month, perhaps midweek and we could persaude @Alan Clogwyn to join us.
I can't admit to jumping over the padlocked gate. The walls have ears! That was nearly 2 mins, but not much cloud cover.
Dinorwic sounds a maybe. Knee is a lot worse now than what you have seen. Coming down is getting to be a problem. Used my poles on Saturday!!!
Thought we were taking @Alan Clogwyn to the millstones?

I'll think about Manchester. Walk? Everywhere is too far these days:( Metro sounds good.

Not Fuji but i think i managed to grab the one of the last Canon G9X last night for 250! Very pleased.

Yes can do Millstones, and surrounding area. Mid week towards end of month is best, I'll set up a PM group shortly and include you and @Alan Clogwyn.

For Manchester then, Chips building/Fabrica is right by New Islington tram stop (incidently where you can park all day for £2.50), just up the road from their is the Bank Of England and the Old Ancoats works.

Hope the knee isn't too bad.

A couple from a walk this morning. Light and weather was awful, even though it was a good forecast. It was freezing!! Couldn't help the messy backgrounds.

xt2, 100-400 with 1.4 tc

Excellent work !!! I love the 100-400

not cheap but a fantastic bit of kit, get the 1.4tc too, the 2.0 ruins the lens.

Updating the firmware makes a BIG difference to the 2x telecon's performance IMO. I was considering selling mine before I did the updates but I'm keeping it now!

I sent mine back. That was before the update though, I found it barely useable. It really degraded the photos and only worked in blazing sunshine, which is useless in England.

How is it with the IQ now, and does it perform better when the sun isn't out?

Thanks Pete.

Its my favourite lens, even in poor light it always works handheld.
Agree about the low light performance, these are handheld near dusk, SOOC JPG's, it's coped with anything i've thrown at it so far

XT-2 + 100-400 is a great combo, using it more than my 50-140 + 1.4 TC

Both are much improved. IQ is good enough to make it worthwhile having the extra pixels rather than cropping into a 1.4x converted image. My back garden is now in shade and it managed to get focus on a waving branch. It's a little slower than the "naked" lens but working at f/11 rather than f/5.6, I'd expect it to be. I bought it mainly for use in Crete where it's quite sunny(!) and that's still where I'll use it most but it's now more useable here as well. Don't know if it's the lens's firmware or the X-T2's that's made the difference. Oh, it now also reports the converted focal length and aperture too - it used to ignore the fact that there was a telecon fitted when the 2x was used.

I may try one out again, mine was awful on the xt2. I can't fault the 1.4 though, I can hardly tell the difference with or without it. I even struggled hand holding with the 2x, maybe it is the new updates.

I very rarely use it on a tripod, even with the telecon. 1/30th is about the slowest I can manage with the 2x now but that's not bad for 1200mm EFL given my age!

Thanks @chrism_scotland @Mr Perceptive

I've ordered the tamrac 15, it's a few cm wider and deeper so it should help with having the grip fitted...........hopefully!

well, it's arrived!

It is currently holding:

1x xp2 with 35mm
2x xp1 with 18-135/10-24
1x xt2 with 100-400/1.4tc and battery grip
1x xt10 with 18-55
charger + xt2 grip charger
peak slide
cables
giottos blower
4x 10 stops
15 batteries
maybe more, I've lost count of whats fitted inside.

& there's room for lots more, it even holds my MacBook pro. It'll hold a few more lenses or a couple more bodies with primes. It would struggle with the battery grip if it wasn't as deep. The straps are very comfy.

It'll be great for taking on my hols. I may need to take a bit out of it for local trips though :D

Possibly for taking as carry on as well. Some airlines have weight limits (and enforce them) for carry on bags.

Nah - look at all the weight loss the owner's put it through!

IIRC, James Hunt drove an A35 van as a daily drive, claiming that driving it flat out was as exciting as possible on public roads while remaining relatively safe. Don't forget that the Austin Healey Sprite was based on A30/35 running gear too.

Just wondering if anyone has had a go with the XT-20 yet, given the price it's on my radar

I haven't bought one yet, but suspect it's what I'll eventually move to. Took an X-T10 out at the weekend and didn't find it any worse than my X-T1. Only annoying thing is the SD card sitting in the battery compartment.

Aye, that could be a bit weird.

Do you find you miss any of the dials like ISO or is it unbalanced with any of your lenses?

Just reading about the new Nikon D7500 and it highlights to me how Fuji listen to their customers and on the whole try and give us what we ask for when a new model is launched.

D7500 loses second card slot, screen resolution reduced from 7200, no UHS II support.

Gains a touch screen which would have been nice on the XT-2 for video work.

If it's still like the xt10, you can use the front command dial for iso, which I like. I'll be getting the xt20 to replace this.

I've used the t10 with all lenses and when you start to get to the heavy, long lenses it's manageable but obviously front heavy. Having said that most fuji bodies aren't bulky enough for the massive lenses. The best thing I did on the t10 was to add the fuji grip, massively improves the holding ability.
