The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Yeah, found it on that very site last night. The first reviewer is also using the Fuji XT-1. Looks like people only drop points for it's bokeh, which isn't what I need it for tbh :D

I went ahead and bought it after inspection today, lovely copy, well looked after.

Just managed to grab a few tester shots out the window this eve. It was raining here all day and a bit dark and dank, but it was easy to use, not too heavy, lovely focus ring. Big and chunky, and simple to fine tune focusing with. Unlike my Helios 58mm, which is a bit erratic. This one focuses smoother than my Carl Zeiss jena even, very pleased with that.

Really well done again, glad you are enjoying the Tak!

First trip out today with the new X-T2 + my new 16-55 and I'm really liking the handling coming from the X-T10. Love the handiness of the ISO dial and the little nubbin is fantastic (although having been used to the X-T10 and my Nikon D800 I frequently tried to shift the focus point using the directional arrow buttons). In camera processing of long exposures seems to take forever compared with my Nikon but I gather it's normal. Also handy for me was the fact that my 77mm Lee filter adapter fits the 16-55mm lens.

Stunning!!!

Thanks for the very kind comments folks!

Another one from yesterday, same combo of X-T2 and 16-55mm. Posting a 500px link as when I upload it to Flickr it becomes horribly noisy...

Edit: can't work out how to embed 500px images into this forum... I'll try a direct upload!

Another beauty Brian

Been meaning to shoot this tree for a while in the right conditions, not there yet but this one will have to do for now.

Anyone found a filter like classic chrome they're using on their phone?

Looks good Dave, did you use Iridient to process this?

Yes, which may have helped the foliage along. I've also been working lately with Ming Thein's approach to post processing, which worked quite nicely for this image (I didn't like my previous effort enough to share it in public). It's only about the third or fourth image I've processed this way, but if you see a slight change in my style that'll be the underlying cause!

Well spotted. I tend to over rely on the in-camera levelling....
I'm just as bad. But if I turn the feature off, I forget to think about the horizon altogether. My current solution for landscape, when I can take my time, is to get the picture set up with all that stuff turned on, then once I have the exposure, etc. all set, switch to the view that's "just a picture" and take a good hard stare at the composition before I actually take the shot. It doesn't always work, but I find it helps me, at least. Great shot by the way!

Never considered it before, I always leave everything on. It makes sense though, even when I get everything "technically" right, I often find myself cropping/changing to a different composition which might not follow the "rules" but is much more pleasing to the eye... Doing it this way will get it right in camera... Thanks!

Managed to take some snaps with my XT-2 and the 16-55mm f2.8 in low-light on Sat.
Very impressed, the high ISO 6400/12000 seems very close if not as good as my old Sony A7/A7II files.
The lens is super sharp and I can see it easily being a good replacement for primes at the same focal lengths. :)

Can anyone recommend a decent strap from a xt10, the one that came with camera is too short for my liking?

Peak Design Slide Light.

can anyone recommend a 3rd party battery for the xt2?
ExPro White, unless you need the unique properties of the genuine Fuji WP126S.

Very moody, you've caught the light really well. It suits mono.

Thanks matey, this is the third attempt at the scene after the wind kept causing motion blur - I had to hold the tripod down! For what it's worth I had the camera in Mono + Red all day, with the contrast up to max. Not as good as Acros maybe but close enough.

Guys, for those of you who, like me, bought the Gariz or other screw in soft release buttons, I've managed to locate some cherry red o rings, the same ones Gariz ships with some of it's buttons. These prevent the buttons from coming undone and also look very nice. The Gariz ones can sometimes fail so having a couple of spares is smart. The only problem is Gariz doesn't supply them and finding ones that are red and not orange is nigh on impossible. However, after several weeks of searching I have a bag of them (they didn't sell just one or two.. :D) so if there's interest in them I can do an ad on SC and folks can purchase the extra ones I have. You can see it in place here on my X30:

My X-T1 + 18-135 lens has arrived and have to say all credit to Fuji.

When I bought it on the refurb store I could only select my home address (the billing address) as the place to be delivered because the cost was over £400. I did originally want this to be sent to my works address as no-one would be at home for the majority of the day.
I explained this to Fuji and asked if possible could they add to the delivery notes that there would only be someone at home up to 10:30am or after 4:00pm and asked if it could be noted to deliver before or after those times (only a request). To their credit they actually sent by RMSD pre 9:00am and did not ask for any more to cover the cost, it duly arrived this morning at 8:50.

I have only had a brief try with it in a very dimly lit room (very dim outside so worse than normal inside) and also at ISO 6400 so not ideal to test out a new camera.
I have to say that I am blown away with the results, some shots were down to as low as 1 second and even though hand held and high ISO they are perfectly usable, the image stabilization is on another level to anything I have tried before, cant wait to try in good conditions.

I think my love affair with Fuji has begun.
