That's that one thing that might stop me from getting an XT20
 
And if anybody thinks that Fuji customer service has gotten better over time think again, its always been this exceptional from day one!
I had a brand new lens assembly and a service on my original X100 when it was past its 12 month warranty period, this was back in 2012.
The lens assembly didn't need replacing as it was working, I was worried it would suffer the stick aperture blade issue that some early bodies suffered, so it wasn't actually faulty when I sent it in, just mentioned my concern.
Came back within a week fully service with a new lens assembly!

I have both tbh I can't say it's a vast difference in use and I wear specs it's still bright clear and I can see the full screen :):fuji:
 
How good is Fuji I'm not sure how but I just mounted my 16-50mm f3.5 on my X T10 and a message came up to tell me there is a firmware update for my lens ? Wow :fuji:

I don't notice the difference either, but did get fed up with the lack of a decent eyecup on the x-e2 this very bright morning.

As mentioned before can't stand that ISO dial, so much nicer on the x-pro2 or the menu based system, another good reason to get the xt-20

That's ok, I'll swap you my XT-1 for it, can't have you stressing over which to use from the newer crop :D

I'm not sure I'd like a smaller body, and no ISO dial is bound to bug me at least at first. But I would like to have the newer sensor, and I can't afford an XT-2 right now. This makes the XT20 semi-attractive to me, I'd have to sell on my XT-1 and grip to fund it though. And I'd still have the Xpro1 back up.
 
Interestingly the x-t20's buffer is not far behind that of the x-t2 (25 raw V 33 raw at 8fps and 28 raw V 39 raw at 5fps). Note, the x-t1 could handle 23 raw images at 8fps. Not that I ever shoot more than one in a row anyway, but Fuji have clearly made the x-t2's understudy very capable indeed, something not all camera manufacturers are likely to do.
 
I think they're banking on the other features - weather sealing, dual card slot, custom AF settings, booter grip andso on to sell it rather than hobbling the mid range camera - a stance I think is rather refreshing
 
It's to lure in the curious cats who've been sniffing, but don't want to commit £1500 or so for a body and starter lens. I think it's a great strategy. Offer up 'almost' as good, but keep serious buyers wanting. Personally I think it makes the x100F a bit more of a specialist/collector's thing, as you can have the XT20 plus an 18mm or 27mm for as much.

True, but the x100f just looks way too cool for school.

They didn't handle the x-f1 inherent fault very well. This stopped me considering them for a while. However it was going to be Fuji or Sony and Sony has had even more negative stories.
 
Fuji refurb shop have the X-T1 with the XF 18-135 lens for £799. If the discount code still works that makes it £719. I'm not sure I need the 18-135 lens and these seem to selling for around £400ish on ebay. Which in effect means the new (refurb) X-T1 body would be £319. Mmmm very tempted.

IMO the 18-135 is as close to a perfect walkaround lens as possible. Light enough to not be a burden and flexible enough to cover most "normal" shooting situations. All but welded to my X-T1 in preference to the 18-55.
 
Could anyone advise me on a light lens to take with me on my travels for day to day? I'm trying to get the smallest lens possible on my XT10 and its going to have to be a 18mm or a 27mm , with the alternative being a X100S/T. It's going to travel across China, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand. I'm taking a 18-55 and a 35mm already but I really need something light to climb mountains and hike with.

Any advice would be appreciated.
 
Been out today trying my hand a street for the first time. I was trying to zone focus and fluffed it in this picture, however i really like the spot which needs further investigating.

If you're taking the 35mm I'd take an 18mm also for hiking out of that and the 27mm, which is a little close to 35mm for my liking.

I'm actually going to do this the other way around - and keep the 18-135mm for £320 :D

Yep, either or. It's a good deal both ways. The X-T1 would be a big step up for me personally though from my X-E1. I already have the 18-55 f2.8-4 so the 18-135 might need to go. Danger is that I might want to keep both. DOH.!

My X-T10 came in the same box as the 18-55mm. Wrapped in foam and between two thick foam inserts.

There's some lovely scenic spots within an hour from me, Midlands Ireland, but having no transport is the killer. Come spring there will be more by way of landscape to shoot, there is some forest areas and we do have the River Boyne just down the road. But no mountains this part of the country. Would be a few hours away either direction.
