Who needs the rubber cap? The lens cap does fit with the hood on as mentioned, but even that's not needed. It's a solid hood and it snaps into place a lot easier than some of the zoom hoods. I like the look of it :)

I agree - it's just two connections essentially - focus and release. The Canon genuine one is only £14.99 vs some £30 something for the Fuji one - I guess I was just pointing out the opportunity more than anything, but agree there is little to go wrong in them.

Yes. When the connector is in place there is very little room in between the sides of an L bracket to get fingers or anything else round the right angled connector. A straight connector is better and I'm in negotiation to get a genuine Fuji RR-90 which has a straight connector so is easier to remove.
If you are not using an L bracket then the problem should never arise and the Canon will work just fine. It does on mine.

Oh definitely. I'd certainly not be buying a Fuji remote unless absolutely essential.

Unfortunately I don't have the 18-135 so can't help you specifically for that lens. Just check the thread size and see what screw on hoods you like. You're restricted by 18mm, so don't go too mad with any deep hoods.

I thought it was perhaps me, but it just doesn't go on smoothly and can take ages. It really feels like cheap plastic compared to Nikon. I am going to give a vented one a go.
 
I'm having the usual nightmare with Amazon and Chinese sites over stuff I ordered a month ago! But ... at least my macro rings arrived.

They are fiddly as anything to get the lens attached to from the off, but - once you get them on, they seem to do as they are supposed to. AF is working well [though I will use them full manual mostly for better precision] , all the cpu data is present and correct, and they feel secure enough at least with a small lens attached on camera [I'm using the 35 1.4 atm]

I need to make up some flimsy DIY soft box for better even light from the flash. I had made some in the past but they got misplaced [lost] during a house move this summer. Just using bare off-cam flash here for a few testers

Most likely this is taken with an adapted lens - you can choose the focal length in the menus so that it goes into the EXIF correctly, but as the camera can't know the aperture on adapted lenses Fuji defaults to putting f1.0 in the exif data.

Not after crop will be FF. Although the D500 gets great reviews it's not FF and im going that route

Not good :( yes a little searching has found issues with the Lexar card thanks for the Tip I will try contacting them again as they are supposed to have a lifetime guarentee ?

If I was to go back to Nikon, it would probably be for the D500 and stick to cheaper DX lenses. Much as I loved the D800, I felt it really desired the highest end glass to make the best of it. And this meant expensive and heavy. 2 of the main reasons I switched away from it. If I hadn't gone to Fuji, I'd have gotten a DX Nikon I think. Like the D7100. And started saving for the 500

The D500 is tempting for sure, DR and Noise handling nearly matching the D750 with an insane AF system and AF spread nearly covering the full frame. Apparently a new FF nikon is on the horizon to replace the D760, will be interesting to see what they will offer. Hope it doesn't have the sensor from the D5.

What might stop me from going for it, would be - is it worth twice the money of a D7200? Where you could get a new one of those and a very nice lens or 2

Depends on the individual I guess. The better AF system, bigger VF, better noise handling, and better build may be enough to sway some people.

I would get the best piece of glass I could afford to meet my needs and a D7200 :)(y)

No my 18-135 was fine, the 50-140 on the other hand is a pig !!

I was disappointed in the noise handling of the D7200 so if I was looking at an APS DSLR I'd have to go for the D500 tbh.

When I started looking back into Fuji his was one of the first channels I came across and subbed to. So I get notifications whenever he uploads a new one. I have entered probably hundreds of competitions online, and usually just enter and forget about it. Nice surprise just before Christmas :)

Thanks :) I hope you do get more subs, solid channel. Helped me make some decisions when I was switching over from Nikon. reviews are nicely paced and no BS.
