The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

But I got to admit when I shoot with the D3 and the pro glass, it does not disappoint me everytime. Can't really get a bad shot with them. At least I know what image I will get. No guessing for me at least.

I'm the same. Never once been let down.

Are you both saying Nikon is better than Fuji; Outrageous

Not at all. Just that sometimes the weight/size benefits of Fuji can be exaggerated.

Both amazing systems, in the right hands.

No we did not say is better. FF DSLR and Fuji is different. Can't really compare apple with orange. We had the FF DSLR for a long time so we got use to it on the operation side. That's why is pretty easy to get the shot.

Fuji is completely different in a very good way, it takes time to get use to it.

I think the heaviest I carried around at any one time was 6-7KG inc the bag. That may seem tame to some, but that was way too much for someone with back problems to carry around for hours. It is the main reason I changed kit, I wasn't using it as much because of that heft. Just got a smaller messenger type bag and my current Fuji kit is only around 2KG, and that includes the very hefty Sigma 150 macro, Nikon fit w/adapter. My back thanks me every time I do take the gear out.

When you can have a lens that weighs just 77g!! ... and does pretty much the same job as your old one that weighed over half a Kilo, you gotta smile at that :)

I uploaded it at 900 pixels on the height, I can see what you mean.. It is a brilliant lens Keith, although I have the 10-24mm, which was my favourite lens for the last two years, the 23mm just seems better for my uses.

Am I right in thinking if I trade in a dlsr with wex I get a bonus of £80 towards a new Fuji ?
Will I get the cashback as well £80 = £160 in total discount ?

That and the 35 F2 are my targets, will probably sell or trade the 27mm towards one or other. The 27 is a fun little lens, but I would like more shallow DOF at times, and a little longer or wider. I also like that the others are WR

Depending upon which camera - they have different rates of cashback. But yes - you do get the bonus plus you can apply for the cashback.

Why can't you compare apples to oranges? Both fruits, both make good juices, have skin have pips (seeds) taste good...

Because oranges are best, unless oranges are the fuji..then I reverse my decision ;)

Surprisingly I woke up today an X-T2 owner!

Yesterday I contacted Jessops to have a bit of a moan about the time my order was taking. They advised me that they were hopeful that it would be fulfilled in the next 5 days. So I was a little confused as to what was going to be in the parcel I was opening.

I also mentioned the offer that they had last weekend with the 10% off and this was applied to my order too!!
With the great trade in offer they gave me on the T1 plus the £100 trade in bonus and then 10% off as well it's not hurt as much financially to change as it could have.

They do have a nice trade in offer. I try to sell my wife's GF3 and she found out how much I'm selling it to (MPB), she almost kill me after an heated argument. She said is silly to sell for so little. After selling how much they offer on the trade in, I think she was right for once lol. I end up selling the M43 14mm f2.5 instead and she get her camera back lol.

Why, out of interest? They can only get them out as quickly as Fuji can make and distribute them, so as long as each retailer is supplying them earliest order first, that's all they can do really. Having a moan (hopefully) won't bump anyone up the list at the expense of others.

Either way it's great for the Fuji X system as a whole that over 2 months from the first shipments they still haven't got to the point where stock is generally available. A profitable, well established system should mean plenty more developments in the future. Considering the X-T10 was absolutely huge for them, I can only imagine how popular the X-T20 is going to be.

The moan was mainly to let them know that I was still anxiously waiting. Had I not been in contact at all over the three weeks since ordering they could possibly interpret this as me not being fussed about when I receive it. If on the other hand someone was hassling them every other day about an order they could in theory give them priority to make their lives easier.

Not for one minute am I saying that I believe they operate in this way. But at the same time it takes a few seconds to send a quick email.

The other major reason was the 10% off that they offered at the weekend. It was annoying to see stock come and go at Amazon, then stock come and go at Currys with 10% off. So when Jessops were then offering 10% off when I hadn't had my order fulfilled it had to be worth asking if I could have that too.

So 17 hours after having a moan I've got the camera and a further 10% off.
Would the camera have arrived this morning without me inquiring? We'll never know.
Would I have paid £130 more if I hadn't emailed? Yes

Have tried the 35 f/1.4, but couldn't get on with the focal length, so it sits here gathering dust.

Looks pretty good to me Rob, apart from what's already been mentioned. Well handled exposure with detail in the highlights & shadows.(y)

George.
Thanks George, looks fine at full resolution.:)

Yep! I've got an X-T2 with 18-55 kit, and a lightly used 55-200. I've just p'exed my Wife's EOS-M against an X-T10 for her and the 2 lens kit. With the P'Ex value and the £80 bonus, the X-T10 is basically free after I've sold her new 18-55 and my lightly used 55-200. I get a brand new 55-200, she gets to use my 18-55 and my other lenses if I let her :)

Welcome to the T2 club, you've been waiting long enough. (y)

This refurb xt1 is tempting then I be I. Pocket with cash. Deep down the xt2 the one as the improvement is worth it. Do you ex xt1 agree

Look Rookies, if you haven't got the cash to spunk on an X-T2 then by all means get an X-T1, but knowing the way you (over) analyse camera purchases, you will never be happy in your heart of hearts unless you have an X-T2.

Please, please, just buy something...... every day you procrastinate is another day that you are not shooting with a Fuji

You wont be out of pocket if you go for the Fuji XT-2 kit with the 18-55mm f2.8-4.0 lens and the battery grip!
Unfortunately most camera's don't hold their value and Sony is no different.

I did ask what ex xt1 users think of the upgrade.

Sorry guys I'll shut up for a while [emoji106]

Not going bother with grip as rather spend that on a prime [emoji106]

What is it that you don't like about the Sony that the XT1 or XT2 will give you? Did you not have the XT1 before?

I like the xt1 for it controls but didn't like high ISO but I've learnt get over that now since I've a Sony. I just like the focus point stick on the xt2 the faster af and more tracking option. And the way Fuji updates firnware adding things whilst Sony don't

For me:-

A real step up from X-T1, it's just much better:-

Much faster AF
Zone Mode really works, will track an F1 car
AF point movable with joystick
Images seem sharper
More Shadow and Highlight Recovery from Raw files
Better high ISO capability, I've had usable JPGs at 12,800 (as long as there is decent dynamic range in the scene)
ACROS film simulation, simply excellent at high ISO
Battery life with new S battery better (750 RAW+JPG before changing)
EVF blackout reduced, EVF very fast update

It's just a good all round thing, buy one!!!

:fuji:

But does it really matter what we think ...................................:exit:
