:D I am sticking to my 50% limit for now lol :D , I told myself that I would not spend any more than 50% of the proceeds that I get from selling the Sony gear, the other 50% is going to eventually go towards a car for my wife :D, a win win in my opinion.
That's not to say I won't buy any future Fuji gear as I may need to feed my GAS now and again, really looking forward to the Fuji 80mm f2.8 1:1 Macro due in 2017.

That is a big switch and specially that you are doing it in one go. It took me just over a year to move from Nikon to Fuji completely. Actually having said that I still have my Nikon flashguns

Yes its a big move and it took me a fair amount of brain racking to finally decide.
Part of me did think about holding onto the Sony system but in reality is far more than I need both in terms of value (£) and the actual end results that I want (photos).
Its a very expensive system but a great one, nobody can deny that Sony is making giant strides forward but it comes at a price, even if I decided to keep a single lens setup, your still looking £5250 worth of gear (A7RII, Grip & 24-70mm f2.8).

Riz, how important is sharpness in images to you, I say this as your kit list doesn't include IMO two of the sharpest Fuji lenses, the 23mm F1.4 and 90mm F2, obviously we don't know about the 80mm Macro yet, so if Macro capability is important then I'd wait for that t release before looking at the 90mm, but the 23mm F1.4 is stellar, and if you take a lot of images at 35mm FF then it should be in your bag.
 
I've seen many say the 35 F2 is possibly one of Fuji's sharpest and that the 23 F2 is just as sharp as the 1.4? That's the 2 lenses I'm aiming to get next.

I pondered a long time on offing my FX Nikon - but once I started to look to Fuji, it happened over a few weeks tbh. The others just didn't offer what I needed in a package. I don't miss the bulky dslr at all, I thought I would.

Well I have been quite a big pixel-peeper hence why I went down the Sony A7RII & G Master route, but after thinking about it long and hard, taking a step back and actually viewing photos in their normal resolution (not 100% zoomed), sharpness may not be the defining factor anymore. (will see) lol.
The plan is to stick to the Fuji trinity zoom's and if I find them lacking the sharpness / focal length then look at the primes.... I am more of a zoom lens type as I found out with the Sony setup I had.

Been stung with that one a few times. You have to be stealthy [Lie] about how much you're getting from used gear ... and also the stuffs you buy with those proceeds.

I know, I did consider just blowing the entire lot on the Fuji gear but that would be pure GAS at a epic proportion lol.
I look at more lenses in the future if/when I need them rather than just collecting them to fill my vanguard case :D

Not so sure...... I do know that my XF23mm f1.4 is mega sharp.

Maybe in it's price range then. I know I'd be happy with any of them ;)
 
Yeah I certainly wouldn't be trading the 23 f1.4 for the 23 f2.0, too many mixed reviews online and aside from WR and a smaller size I don't see the benefit.
Never had any issues with focus speed and frankly I think the 23 f1.4 is small enough when compared to say the Sigma 35mm f1.4!!!!!

35mm is a harder battle, there seems little dispute that the 35mm f2 is better than the new 23mm f2

You are right about that. I sold my D700 and told my wife I will buy a Fuji. She said why you need a Fuji, I said I want something more lighter and compact to use. She quickly ask how much is the Fuji. I said is around the same cost as the D700. If I told her I go buy a XT10 she probably stung me with this tax.

I simply don't get there fuss about we selling gear and buy another gear with no extra cash (sometimes we do have to lie if we do put extra cash in). We don't question them buying handbags, cloths and shoes so they shouldn't question us. I guess is hard to reason with the other half .....

If you sell gear its for one reason to buy more. You have to state it like this im changing brands, this is going to be sold im buying this. I need to have exactly the same stuff it may cost me more.

In my case it is cheaper but only half a story lol. If I buy a used XT10 or XT1 I get spare cash after selling my D700 and a spare M43 lens. But I need another lens which adds up the cost. In theory is cheaper to change the body but end up upgrading the lens lol,
 
I have just updated my blog with the latest part of the Ted Forbes challenge.
This one was about variations. Here are a few pics from my post.
My idea was to try different lighting. I'm yet to understand using flash, so for the indoor work
I used two desk lamps.

I do really like the 50-140 but if someone could convince me that the 100-400 isn't too much bigger and the IS is as good as the 50-140 I could be tempted to switch.....
 
Some, but I suspect not many, of you may be using an L bracket on the X-T2. If you know what I'm talking about you will know of the problems in using the camera in portrait mode, on a tripod with a remote control.
I have solved the problem.
If anyone wants to know how I'll mail you some pics - too many for on here - with a description of what I did.
Warning: there is a cost involved - £22 to be precise.

Nod, the issue here is that with a USB remote release (typically a locking one is used for Bulb long exposures), the standard chinese copy Arca bracket, does not allow the side door to be opened far enough when used in portrait mode, for the usb connector to be inserted. I believe @mickledore has overcome this by using parts from two brackets, which will allow the door to open and the the USB cable to come through the gap in the bracket.

@mickledore, just post a picture of the finished article, give you a chance to use that pensioned off X-T1 that you have.....

I got one very stupid question guys. When buying used DSLR we look at shutter actuations to see the mileage. With mirrorless camera, I guess this does not apply right?

I saw a XT1 graphite silver for sale in my local camera store. It is listed as excellent condition with original box etc. The price is reasonable and I guess I could try to bargain myself to knock a few pounds off or ask them to give me a good deal if I buy a lens as well.

Always applied really, of course the shutter count wont mean like it will ona DSLR but it will give a good indication of how well its been used

Pretty much correct. I think it was Fuji that had some odd system with the X100 where it added a number to the count every time you so much as looked at the thing (turned it off, turned it on, took a photo etc). Not sure if newer bodies still have that (I can't remember seeing it), if it does it's not easily accessible as it was before.

Personally I'd buy on overall condition anyway.

Shutter count absolutely matters to me, how else are we to know how well used a camera's internals are? I don't know why Fuji and some other mirrorless don't allow shutter count to be read tbh. Fuji cameras have an average shutter life expectancy just like DSLRs so it is good to know imo. Maybe it's because you can also use electronic shutter and there's no way to differentiate which shutter was used???

It was at f1.4, I can't really see an area that's overly sharper than the Fujfilm logo on the front tbh, but then I am due an eye test :lol:
