Wanna swap?Lovely. That's certainly making me re-evaluate if I really need my 50-140, considering how rarely I use that focal length range.

You obviously read the amateur photographer article on tips for the X-T2 as you've managed to successfully get the batteries out of the grip !Great to see people getting new arrivals today, I'm not even slightly jealous.
Now can anyone spot what's wrong with this picture?

Yes. that's right my screen protector hasn't arrived yet!
With a cash difference, naturallyWanna swap?![]()
But don't believe their tip about back button focusing. Yes, you can bbf, but as soon as you touch the shutter button it refocuses. Unless you can disable shutter button focus at the same time. You obviously read the amateur photographer article on tips for the X-T2 as you've managed to successfully get the batteries out of the grip !
If it was me Colin, I'd be on the phone everyday at least once a day until they were so sick of me they'd move heaven earth to get me a camera, and to get rid of me. It does work (sometimes)I've not heard anything from jessops since Monday so it doesn't look as if I'll be worrying about which focus method to use anytime soon.
Haven't used back button focus on any of my fuji's, last time I did was on the Canon 5DII.

Whats that on the path ? A pheasant ?One from a walk out with the X-T2 and 16mm f1.4
Really need to change my processing style or software as i dont feel that Photoshop or Lightroom play very well with Fuji RAW's or i may just need to change years of SLR habits when carrying out PP.
Seems a bit limited at the moment for Windows alternatives that support the X-T2.

I'm not really in a great rush, this side of Christmas will be fine. Not as if I'm cameraless, the X70 and X-pro2 should tide me over. A man after my own heart, X-Pro 2, X70 and X-T2, to be honest I'm using the X70 more than the other two, X-Pro 2 a close second, and the X-T2 quite a bit less in third place. I think if I ever get round to selling some gear and getting a 100-400mm the X-T2 may get more use. Oh yeah and an X100T which hasn't seen the light of day since I bought the X70.I'm not really in a great rush, this side of Christmas will be fine. OK guys. Thanks for the interest. @Mr Perceptive and I hang around a bit together and we have been talking about these so I think it's only right to let him have first refusal. He may have one of his own by now. He's probably in work so I'll just give him time to get off site and catch upon things. Then I'll get back to you. The bracket is still in it's box, it's that new!
Oh I'd be interested if Mr Perceptive isn't
You can certainly do it on the X-T10 (I do). So I'd be very surprised and disappointed if you can't do it on the X-T2!But don't believe their tip about back button focusing. Been discussed recently regarding how poor adobe is at handling Fuji files sometimes. Also coming from Nikon FF highlight recovery is poor in comparison imo. However, Fuji files do have a little bit of magic. One from a walk out with the X-T2 and 16mm f1.4

I have never shot a Nikon in my life, but is this relevant to that point?Been discussed recently regarding how poor adobe is at handling Fuji files sometimes. Also coming from Nikon FF highlight recovery is poor in comparison imo. However, Fuji files do have a little bit of magic.
https://blog.mingthein.com/2015/03/22/long-term-review-the-nikon-d810/"the D800E has a very linear tonal response, with low shadow noise, and highlights that clip fairly abruptly. This means you want to expose to the right just to the precise point of clipping; your dynamic range maximization comes from bringing up the shadows – since there is minimal penalty in color accuracy or noise. The D810 is the opposite: it is nonlinear and all of the extended dynamic range appears to rest in the highlights. What appears to be clipped even on the flattest picture control setting (the histogram is read off the preview jpeg embedded in the raw file) often still has a stop or more of highlight recoverability in ACR 8x, process 2012*. So you effectively need to have quite a bit of the frame blinking to make the most of the D810’s extraordinary highlight latitude".
I didn't like irident TBH. I use aperture when LR doesn't cut it, but that's Mac only too.Just cant get to grips with how much the RAW files seem to loose detail plus gain noise and a few different actions i have especially when using luminosity masks seem to just effect highlight detail in a massive way as in the sky.
Just reworked it manually in Lightroom but still cant seem to get the detail i can see in the jpeg files or as good as i can get from Canon RAW's.
Will have to hang on for Iridient Developer to be released on PC i guess as it seems to have the best support for Fuji RAW's but is Mac only at the mo.

Dunno, but sounds like it could be. Assuming the D750 behaves this way too.I have never shot a Nikon in my life, but is this relevant to that point?

Yeah with sharpening Fuji files in LR it is best to have detail high and actual sharpening low.I push the detail slider to 100 and amount to 30 10 s 1 10 .

I also push detail to 100, amount probably around 25, but I mask quite generously and then fiddle with radius if not happy. Can always add more later.I push the detail slider to 100 and amount to 30 10 s 1 10 .

Autumn on the Boat Estate
Autumn on the Boat Estate II
I worked at home today so couldn't go far at lunch. Living on a modern estate wouldn't normally give much scope for autumnal shots, but thankfully we have some nice green areas

Thanks GeorgeTwo very nice shots Toby, both well composed, good colour, with some really nice water movement.
George.
Lovely set of images Graham, with some good comp' and beautiful colours, #1 would be my fav'.
George.
wOw first class photography, when I see this I initially thought "taken with a X-T2", how wrong was I.
Thanks, too kind. I'm not sure why it would look any different shot with the X-T2 rather than the X-T1 though?wOw first class photography, when I see this I initially thought "taken with a X-T2", how wrong was I.
