Yup, it's a fixed lens - as far as I understand they have been discontinued but there are still dealers knocking around with stock. WEX did them at one point!

seen a few posts on this thread stating they going to sell there 18-55 XF lens for the £200 mark is this a bad lens ?
Is this the going rate for this lens ?
Will be looking very soon for a lens ready for my XT-1 Body ...

It's a superb lens and I'd be surprised if anyone would part with one for £200 now. They have sold for this in the past but prices are on the up.

I got £250 as a trade in for one a week or 2 back. It was brand new and never out of its box! (LCE split an X-T2/18-55 kit for me and gave me the difference between the kit and body only as a trade in value.) Retail seems to be around £300 for a good 2nd hand one.

Hard to say as I haven't seen many for sale on the classifieds recently, there used to be loads of them split from kits. People might be asking more than £250 by the sounds of things.

I reckon people sell on the 18-55 because there's some good options in that range besides. I was going to get it to start up with but found someone selling a 27mm 2.8 a lot cheaper. The 18-55 is fetching €300+ over here used. I got the 27mm for 230. As it's mint, I thought that a nice deal. And i think it'll be fun to use as it's so tiny. I'm eyeing the 35 F2 also, will probably pass on the 27 when I get that and I wouldn't mind the 23 F2. The 18-55 I think would be fine if zooms are more your thing, I just love primes.

Cheers I have a Sigma 150mm macro, Nikon fit, that would be fun to use on the XT-1, and there's a few old manual lenses I wouldn't mind getting at some point

Yes, I have one. No idea which it is, but only cost about £10 on evilbay. Works just fine. Wouldn't pay £120 for one.

If it's EF lens, you cannot adjust the aperture with the Fuji, so it's wide open all the time, you therefore need an adapted with aperture blades, these tend have quite coarse Bokeh. canons not the best weapon of choice on Fuji's

My Nikon lens is a very old one. From film days. It has a manual aperture ring on it. Presumably there are some legacy Canon lenses out there that will work the same way, but as my hero says modern lenses are bit of PIA.

No idea. I'm using it on an old Nikon macro lens. Everything is manual - everything. AF is as good as the operator.

AF is non existent!!! Manual only!!!

No real loss of Iq as Fuji sensor is a long way forward compared to a DSLR, so an adapted just places the image circle in the right place, but many old lenses do not have the resolving power (line pair ratio) for today's modern high pixel density sensors, so you won't necessarily get the sharpest image known to man, but that's not really the point, some old lenses have lovely bokeh and colour renditions

The one for £120 is called metabones, it's got an aperture ring and suitable for G lenses, but it is a bit steep. It would be worth it if I had a bunch of Nikon G lenses maybe. Will have to find a cheapie one with an ap ring if possible. The Sigma macro I have doesn't have one
