Not sure the 7D will AF if a teleconverter is used. The 100-400 will AF on an X-T1 even with the 2x telecon behind it which makes it an f/11 combo. When the tubes arrive, I'm going to play with stacking telecons and extension tubes behind assorted lenses for a decent macro option.

These were all shot on the X-T2 with the 35mm f1.4.

I really am liking the T2, seems to do everything quite easily.

I like the last one the most. How long was the exposure for that?

I can use the 7D2 with a 1.4 EX if I need too, but the whole set up is just so heavy... I was struggling shooting Stags last weekend as I just couldn't hold everything still. I tried the T2 with 100-400 plus 1.4 at a demo and it was a lot more stable, and the image stabaliser was out of this world....

I'll be interested in how you get on with the tubes. I bought a set for my Canon gear, my intention was to use them with my 6D with an 85mm f1.8, but have never found the time (or subjects) to do it.

Flickr says 1.7sec @f16, 800 ISO

I set the camera up in AE mode, originally turned the ISO to auto but then brought it down to lengthen the shutter speed, and made any adjustments on the exposure compensation. I must say, it just seemed much easier than it is with my Canon gear....
 
I'm not sure how much better the Fuji IS than the Sigma OS, I thought it was supposed to be pretty good, still the weight difference will be considerable as it's the Sport version which was the heaviest of the 150-600s, in fact if I recall correctly the XT2+100-400 will weigh a fair bit less than the sport alone

They do, and I have a back complaint, so the amount of time I get to handhold the 7D2/Sigma is limited.
 
Took the D70 in to the LCE and it is one of the bodies that gets the £100 trade in. AND they gave me an extra £25 from the shop since they can sell it on! :D
However, they didn't have any body only and none within the group so I's have to wait. :(
BUT, having spent a few quid in there over the years and because I'm such a reasonable chap, they were happy to take the 18-55 in at the difference between body only and kit price. :D No extra discount for it being ex-display but that doesn't bother me.
Even managed to find most of the stuff that came with the D70, including the manual! Get extra brownie points for getting shot of an old camera too. Even found the original receipt for the D70 kit - £699.99. Got £100 cashback as well, along with £50 worth of printing. Sold the lens a few years ago for around £100. All in all, the D70 didn't really owe me much and hasn't been used for a while (a couple of years at least.)
Just need to read the manual while the battery's charging... (Actually, I've got to go back down to town to drop the rest of the D70 stuff off and see a mate so will leave the manual reading for the bog - it's not that different to the X-T1 other than the focus stick anyway.)
 
Decisions, decisions! Which lens on which body as a starting point? I reckon the 10-24 on the X-Pro1, 18-135 on the X-T1 and the 100-400 on the X-T2. Then for holiday use, the X-T bodies and see what lens is needed for the day's outing(s).
 
Trying out Iridient on this X-T2 plus 50-140 uncropped shot. Reasonably happy, though the controls are not as intuitive as Lightroom.

Congrats on the X-T2. All you need now is a nice Fuji X bag.:D Sorry Nod couldn't resist.
 
It just about all fits in my LowePro Mini Trekker. Have to have one of the bodies lensless though!

What's a good bag for the X/T2? I like a stylish bag, none of those old man fishing bag types! I've used the Manfrotto stuff before and that's decent enough quality but they never seem to make small bags that can fit the camera + lens and have space for a second lens! I also don't want it all in one compartment, I'd like the lenses to have separate compartments/sections.


Also considering I have the 18-55, what would be a decent prime for shooting portraiture and low light video?

It's certainly more clunky than Lightroom etc imo. Also aesthetically it looks poor, but it's the results that count (y)

Billingham Hadley Pro, pricey but a brilliant bag for a mirrorless setup.

I use a leather ONA Bowery. Not quite as well weather protected as the Billingham and equally as expensive. Has the edge aesthetically imo though (which may or may not be relevant to you [emoji4] ).

Have a look at the Lowepro Protactic range. Good quality, good protection, and a solid top.
 
I've just bought (in the clasdifieds) a Think Tank Retrospective 5. Just about perfect for X-T2 along with 2 spare lenses and my personal odds and sods.
 
Lol I bought a £10 chinese satchel on ebay. Space in the sides for filters, spare batteries, extension tubes and an ipad. Main compartment holds my x-t10 with 18-55 and the 55-20 wrapped in a lens cloth (with enough room to hold the same again.
Gave it a spray with waterproofing stuff, like you get for shoes etc.
8 months on and no sign of wear and tear.
 
take a look at the Tenba Cooper 13 Slim, really nice bags, not that it matters but the material feels lovely :D (inset macho comment here -to get some male credentials back:p)

Another vote for the Billingham Hadley Pro,i brought the standard size and as much as its lovely its a little small for an X-T2 with a grip and a couple of lenses.
 
So that's my working year done at BSB and did use both the Fuji and 1DX MKII today as even though its a massive step in the right direction with the X-T2 it does still fall behind the top end cameras when working in all honesty.

Still think its a massive step in the right direction but seems as if the EVF is the one thing that causes a problem along with battery life.

If they could loose the very,very slight delay you get from the EVF when shooting fast action it would be perfect as the A/F system is spot on.

Seems to lack in exposure latitude compared to my !DX MKII as you can really pull the shadow detail back but i t could just be the fact i need to adjust the way i work.

Still am very impressed with how good it is but wouldn't want to rely on it at this time to make me a living.

No man young or old looks good with a shoulder bag, ask your wife or girlfriend if you don't believe me.

Nearly as bad as those little man purses with a tray, the hand action used to shake the change into the tray part just about says it all.

Hardly had time to shoot the X-T1 much Justin due to work commitments and awful Scottish dull/drab/boring autumn weather at the minute. When I first put the XT1 to my eye I placed it in the same position as the X-Pro1 + X-E2........so wrong.........lol
 
Thinking about doing a 100 strangers project soon. I figure it'll help with my shyness and I rather enjoy a good portrait.
Anyone here done one? Any pearls of wisdom not commonly found by googling?
Most recommend around 85mm equivalent focal length, so can either go long on the 18-55 or short on the 55-200, i'm guessing the latter would be better.... OR I could rationalise buying a helios 44-2... ;)
 
I don't think I'd throw manual focus into the mix unless you're very comfortable with it, could be an excuse to sell a lung and get a 56mm [emoji3]
 
Do Fuji make ANY primes with OIS? I think for people like myself who do video and stills, it'd be a great thing to have. Maaaaaybe now the XT2 has a bit more for the videographer....
 
Ages back a question was asked about how to keep flash in silent mode and I mentioned a video I couldn't find, well I found it, it was a video on 56mm vs 90mm for wildlife! Anyway it's not a setting as much as a workaround, instead of selecting silent mode set the beep and shutter volumes to zero and switch to electronic shutter.
