The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

A Komodo Dragon from Chester Zoo in the dark of the Islands in Danger exhibit. Taken with the 100-400 on an X-T1. Autofocus was an issue but it wasn't moving very fast!

I really like this lens but really want an X-T2 to try it with :)

"Excellent" shot Matt, well composed, very fine detail, and spot on exposure.(y)

Anyone using the X-T1 with an Arca swiss mount tripod could do worse than picking up one of these.

A real bargain if you happen to be ordering other items anyway.

Friggin excellent landscape capture!

That very nice Alan, great sky, with spot on exposure, and well worth the early start.(y)

George.

Thanks guys  It would have been sooooo much better with mountains on the horizon though! That sunsetwx sunrise/set prediction mapping seems to be reliable so far - that was a yellow prediction. Shame it's such an unreliable website and actually being able to view the prediction is something of a lottery.

Same as mine, works well. Can't wait for them to be available for the X-T2, my crappy little tripod plate keeps unscrewing itself!

Where do you find all these wonderful exotic fungi?
Well, for a start, these are not really that exotic. Fairly common, or so it says in the good book.
As to finding them....I just go down to woodland areas. Scrubby and not well maintained is best. Then it's just a question of rooting about in the undergrowth. I went tooled up. Knee pads and gloves, long sleeves, work trousers. Secateurs are a must. A fork is handy for lifting them up and apparently that is not frowned upon by the folk in the know. Also handy is a set of make-up brushes from your local Pound Store. Good for sweeping all the dirt and carp off them. A small reflector is very handy too.

I went looking for stinkhorns which were reported to be there on Sunday but by today they had gone over and were starting to liquify. Not good for photos.

Last month I mush.jpg was out with my XT1 with the 60mm,and came across this.

All these mushrooms! Theres a program on iplayer at the moment about fungus, very interesting.
I don't like mushrooms (to eat), but the Mrs loves them. Maybe next year i'll go foraging for her and take the camera, think I might be too late for this year.

Well all that preparation and effort explains why I'm not seeing them then!

Ok so I am now super tempted to order from Panamoz for the £100 off and then I can sell my current camera for a bit of cash. I am super wary of buying from outside the EU though, especially grey market. I know a couple of you have said it's been great but any more success stories?!

I've spent sh@t loads at panamoz and have nothing but positive experience with them. Customer service is excellent.

£100 off ? has it been £1300 as it is showing £1330 at the moment.

Oh and btw no worries buying off them at all as they beat many a UK supplier on after sales service, they offered me and I accepted a £100 (25%) refund because the package arrived partly crushed but the lens had survived intact.

Well - I'm still not hot on this manual focus lark, but of the images I took I did get this one - best not to pixel peep though!

I do wish the D750 would shift though, I have a couple of horrible itches to scratch... and its all your fault FujiFilm... Damn you!!

Sorry I meant off the camera + kit lens bundle which is £1550.

Thanks for all the help guys. I think I'll go for it. Anyone know if there are any issues with delivering to work addresses in terms of the import duties? I know Panamoz pay it but dunno if that makes it more likely customs are gonna hold on to it?

The last time I bought a Fuji "kit" off them I was surprised to receive them as a body and lens in their respective boxes :)

I have never had a delivery other than to my home address, as for import/vat duties I have never been charged for them, it is tare but has been known for a Panamoz package to be held by customs and charged for but they refund all charges immediately.

That is stunning John. Beautiful framing, depth, exposure, and well timed. Forget pixel peeping, photos like this are exactly what fujis are about to me.

Thank you :)

Hard to kick the pixel peeping bit though - I always seem to get there, usually doing masks...

i think this is really cool. also feel that the image wouldn't have the same feel to it if it was razor sharp.

Right, trigger pulled for an X-T2 with Panamoz. With the grip it's the same as the original offer price, plus it's a 3 year warranty.

Now the wait begins....

Sharp or not, it doesn't matter. It's just a great picture, moment captured perfectly :)

I don't normally ask a magician about their tricks, but is that DOF natural? I've seen a few images lately shot at moderate distance but with really shallow DOF like that. My old Canon Nifty Fifty is the only fast lens i've owned, the only teles i've had are the Canon 70-200 f4 and fuji 55-200 and neither come close to being that shallow.
Either way, it's a look that I really like.

Attended my local camera club tonight, there was a 2hr presentation by landscape photographer David Mould, wOw very impressive captures & talents indeed, he's an exclusive Fuji X-T1 shooter using this XF glass line-up;
XF10-24 -XF18-55 -XF56 -XF55-200. A humble guy to talk to.
