The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Sorry for the numpty question, but I've been considering getting my first ever Fuji but one thing that bugs me on the XT10 and XE2(s) that I've been considering is that you have to press a button before the dpad will move the AF point around. Is there a setting that allows you to directyl use the dpad to move the AF point without having to press an AF activation button first?

No need for the D-Pad on the newer ones (X-Pro 2 and XT2) theres a focus point nubbin!

If you hold down the individual dpad direction for a few seconds it gives you the option to customise that button as moving the focus area. Do that for each button e.g. Up, down, left & right.

Or the xpro 2 and xt2 both have dedicated joysticks that's so the job perfectly.

No need for the D-Pad on the newer ones (X-Pro 2 and XT2) theres a focus point nubbin!

Thanks. Addicknchips I assume by doing this it gives direct access to moving the AF points then without having to press another button first?

You can get direct access to the focus points via the D on the XT1, just needs a little menu juggling, but you do loose the extra function buttons from the D pad though.

Thanks. Not sure what else I'd need on those TBH. I assume the XT10 is the same?

I took this candid on the way home, tonight.
This women was doing my favourite journey thing, staring out the window.
On a tech note, one of the negatives of Jpeg, soc is the lack of blown-out recovery.
Should have checked my settings first .

I took a few snaps with my new best friend tonight, had a angry three month old strapped to me though so not ideal. Even battling her, I must say, I think I'm in love, and i'm not romantic at all. For me the question now becomes, what do I do with my X100T? Hmmmmm. What would you do? I have the 16, 35(f2), 56, 18-55 and 50-140 - which I think is relevant.

The options as I see it:

1) Keep
2) Sell and buy the 10-24
3) Sell and buy something else - but what?
4) Sell and pocket the cash - you must be joking!

You really need the 10-24. So versatile, with IS, and you still have the 16mm for fast apertures.

Got some clear skies tonight but not able to do long exposures on my xt2. Bulb setting works bit "T" doesn't. Any ideas?

If I recall when in T you can set the Shutter using the scroll dials? upto 30s though
Yes, tried using the scroll wheel. The display shows 25, 30 etc. but doesnt do it. Frustrating as we now have a bit of the Northern Lights sowing now too!

So, what's high ISO like on the XT2?

Excellent to 128k, 512k is pushing it too far though, Better than a smartphone. and alright if you really have to but you wouldn't want to frame the result. 128k and tailored NR in LR6 looks pretty damn good, better than the equivalent on the Sony A7R by a good margin.

What do you mean doesn't do it? You can't get longer than 30" except by using bulb mode if that's the issue.

Got it working now thanks. It was only doing about 1 second even when set to 25 but seems to be okay now. Unfortunately it's clouded over now. Here's hoping for tomorrow night.

If you are not using it then replace it with the 10-24mm. I too have the 16mm but I find myself reaching for the 10-24mm for that ultra wide/zoom flexibility

No Longer Available.

George.

Does anyone know when the next batch of XT2's is expected to be hitting our shores ? .

Blimey I've come back to this again! From going back and forth between the a6300 and the new Pana G80 (I currently have MFT) and even having the 6300 in me 'ol virtual basket, I've decided that should I be able to track down an X-T2 in London on Saturday then I'm just gonna go for it.

F*%k it!

Great choice but no chance you will find one in London I'm afraid.

Try Cameraworld. They're often overlooked but generally have good stocks of Fuji kit and are good people to deal with.

I was told it wouldn't be before 8 October. Panamoz have stock though (at least they had stock last Friday), and they can deliver quickly. I ordered mine last Friday and it arrived Monday.
Panamoz is your best bet at the minute as no one seems to know.
I also ordered Friday but they had courier problems. They refunded me £20, sent it out Monday and it's being delivered today. They come with Panamoz warranty as well which is 3 years.
