I'm loving the XT2 too - shooting round the house at 128k iso is wonderful! I haven't got used to the extra dynamic range yet and the adjusted highlight and shadow tone controls, you can mess with exposure by well over a stops worth just with those alone!

I haven't got used to the shutter sound yet either, it's a lot more interesting than the T1, reminds me of the old OM2SP somewhat!

Fingers crossed I'll get out to get it acquainted with the wilds of Wales tomorrow!

I'm in two minds whether or not to sell the T1 or keep it for IR as planned, I've just costed up some furniture for the new pad and it wasn't pretty, so it may need to go to fund that, although I'm selling everything else I can to avoid that outcome, it's bad enough having to pay for the T2!

A bit of good news that some of you may not know.
There was a debate a while ago about having to replace remote controls because of different fittings.
Well...last night I was reading the manual (I was bored) and P32 shows that a USB 2.0 plug will fit into a USB 3.0 socket and work. Just use the larger half of the socket. It works because I've tried it. No need for new remotes!

I already have an X-E1 for IR, I don't like it - viewfinder is far too small, buttons are all in the wrong place and the autofocus is pathetic. It's currently for sale.

I use one of those in the second socket for jpegs and it's fine. I suppose it all depends on what and how you shoot. I put a Lexar 150Mb/s UHS II in the first slot, and again it works fine, but I seldom use motor drive except for exposure bracketing. Probably an overkill for me, but they are quite cheap from CCL Computers.

I'm getting quite impatient at the lack of x-t2 stock! Hope my local camera shop gets a delivery soon.

I've just been told by Park Cameras, although only after chasing them, that they now wont have anymore stock until early October. I'd probably be content enough with this, if, I hadn't been promised a release date camera and then subsequently told numerous times that it would be available "next week". Disappointing experience...

That's frustrating! My local camera shop has not had any stock at all from Fuji so far. They have no idea when the stock week be in either. I do struggle to believe they were genuinely caught out so much by initial orders. The sceptical side of me suspects intentional stock witholding to create an extra sense of demand, and publicity. I'm sure that's just my paranoia talking though!
 
Had one on order from WEX and Calumet and every phone call i was just being told we are not receiving enough to take care of all back orders at once.They seem to be spread across all shops and arriving one or two at a time.

Didnt intend on getting the kit lens aswell but after three days on the phone and missing out by hours on two i got lucky,am sure many others are also now trying the smaller local shops.

Did ask if they had any more in stock and was told not at this time and that they also have only received three in total since the release.

I've been using one all morning and it's fine for me. Not sure what it's like when worked hard mind. I also have a Sony 40mb/s card and that's also fine for what I do.

Anyone who thought AF was bad on an X-T1 really ought to try an X-E1 - no phase detect at all in that thing and it shows up very poorly next to the T line, hence the plan for converting the T1 and using the sale funds from the E1 to do so. Not going well so far!

On that basis the later pre orders to Wex, Calumet etc will be waiting some time. Those who went to the smaller outlets were probably lucky. I ordered mine less than 2 weeks before delivery date, and picked it up at midday. I was third in line at my shop and they received 5 boxes. Sometimes it pays to shop local - if you can.

I've been using the XE-1 that I got as an interim body while I wait for my XT2 and I have to agree. The images are fantastic, but the autofocus is just slow. What's also bad is that it takes a while to process the images, so judging focus on the back screen isn't trustworthy at all!
 
I pre-ordered my X-T2 from Jessops, despite having reservations about using them. A few comments on this thread did nothing to re-assure me, but in all fairness my camera (and grip) where available on the day of release. Seeing how some independent retailers have been treating customers (reading the posts on this thread) I realise that Jessops aren't as bad as some people think.
 
OK, my pre-order has been cancelled. I was told today there was no chance the pre-order would be available before 10 October. This was an insurmountable issue for me as I am leaving the UK for good on 10 October. The good news is I am not leaving without the XT-2.

I just ordered from Panamoz who currently have stock and offer a 3 year warranty (I've order bits and bobs from them before including my X100T). The camera, kit lens and grip will be with me in 4-6 working days. It's costing slightly more than the pre-order would have because of the pre-order discounts, however not that much (I think about £70).

let the 4-6 business day countdown begin :banana:

I can't look at the rear screen properly when out and about as I don't usually bring my glasses (not that you can see it well anyway because it doesn't show a lot in sunlight) and rely on the EVF for focus checking, except on the E1 it's too small to tell I find. I struggled on the T1 to some extent as well in some situations, but the T2 is a revelation as it can actually deliver much crisper details, focus checking has never been so easy, not that I find I need to much with the T2, so far it's been brilliant!

If you're leaving the UK for good aren't you worried about warranty in the event of a breakdown ? Also depending on where you're relocating to, it may be cheaper and easier to buy there ?

If it comes down to the warranty, Panamoz offer a 3 year UK repair - which trumps the standard one year Fuji warranty right? I talked to them about this and they offered to apply the warranty to NZ - if something goes wrong I get a quote, send it to them, and they cover the cost, easy. I've dealt with Panamoz a bit in the past and they always go above and beyond with things like this.

I considered the option of buying in NZ. However it would cost about £1520 for the camera only and about £335 for the grip (I cant see the camera and kit lens option available in NZ at present). Panamoz have the camera for 1350 and the grip for 270 (camera and kit lens combo for 1585). I'm getting the kit so I'll pay exactly the same as I would of in NZ but I'll get a brand new 18-55 for free, It's not a huge saving but its not a kick in the face either,. Plus, and its a big plus, I'll get to spend my last week in London with the XT2. That my friend is priceless.

This is going to sound slightly nuts! I have chopped and changed camera systems several times before resting at Fuji as my optimum solution. I have an X100T and XT-1 with 18-135 and 35 1.4. I really enjoy hill walking.

I have a National Geographic bag which works great with my X100T as a belt bag. The key is that I have the camera to hand and can be shooting very quickly without having to take my rucsac off. The issue is that sometimes the camera is to restrictive with a 35mm lens.

The solution is to either get a wide angle for my XT-1 or an X70, my preference is the former as I don't really want 3 Fuji cameras.

I think the ideal lens is the 14 as it's small and light which is important to me but I do need a belt bag for the XT-1 14mm combo. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Not sure what your question is, but the 14mm is a superb lens but not a pancake, and the resulting combo will be considerably thicker than your X100. The 18mm, though obviously not as wide, is smaller and lighter yet still gives good results. An alternative may be to get the wide-angle converter for the X100.

Thanks for the reply it's more a bag that I can attach to my belt that I am after for the XT-1 that I am after. The WCL for the X100 is ok but only reduces the FL to 28mm which is not really significant enough

How about a Lowepro Apex 110aw, ideally sized for just my X-T1 with strap and 18-55mm (14mm is slightly smaller) also takes a couple of bits like a Lenspen,spare battery/memory card

Has a waterproof cover if needed and that's it, belt loop on the back although I carry it in my Hydrapak rucksack

Just checked mine and definitely has a belt loop, blurb on Amazon says so too, but first hand report is always best.

Should also mention I carry the lens hood reversed on the lens, 18-55 and 14mm use the same one so will definitely fit
