The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

How do you find it? Ive been thinking of getting one but is it worth the extra money compared to the 18-55.

If I got one it would mean selling my 23 1.4 which would be better in low light.

The 16-55 is a great lens, the only place I found it lacking a little v the prime is at 16mm because of distortion but its close! The 23mm is a belter of a lens though!

I'm more inclined to sell mine ! I'm leaning towards the 50-140, I was considering the 100-400 but I think it'll be only used on a rare occasion.

I've been really trying to decide between the two zooms, the 100-400 is tempting as I was finding the Tamron 150-600 on full frame to be a much more useful lens than I expected but the 50-140 just seems to tick more boxes!

The third video states it's for top end creative photographers ! As Deborah Meaden would say, "I'm out"

@mickledore

Got pictures now http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/X-T2-Plates , click on the See More next to the thumbnails for extra pictures, cool how the tripod mount is kept in line and the allen key storage but at US$180 + shipping (+VAT, Duty, Handling Charge), it's an expensive (though nice) grip
Hmm. Thought provoking @Mr Perceptive.
I've spotted the Allen Key storage feature. Am I right in thinking that the side arm remains permanently attached and just slides out when needed? Apart from it destroying the exact composition, that could be useful, but would it not end up being permanently left out? This could be where the screw in fitting on the shutter button will be handy. Use a locking cable release and the problem is solved. They have obviously not totally overcome the problem of portrait mode which was PIA on the X-T1 brackets, but this seems an ingenious attempt.
I assume this will be a well engineered and finished bit of kit - just what we like!
Price is seriously high. By the time post, VAT, Tax, Handling fees, more VAT are all added in this is going to be a pricey bit of kit. Now if I could see one first and reassure myself that it will work the way I want it I could be tempted.
Don't suppose they'll have any at Digital Splash will they - if I even go!

Well I think after a week or so using the XT2 I've decided that the X-Pro 2 can go, I can't really justify keeping both and while I do love the XP2 I can see myself using the XT2 more for what I do.
The X-Pro 2 is the camera that made me enjoy my photography again and its been a loyal servant! but the XT2 is for me the better all-round camera for the type of shooting I do and combined with the battery grip its just brilliant with the larger zoom lenses like the 16-55.
Ideally I'd probably have a 24mp version of the X100 to go with it but looks like that will have to wait until next year!
MPB have offered a decent quote but I'll likely put it up here first!

I wonder if the cheapo copies will have the sliding arm feature? I can see the sense in that but will the knock off men just take the easy option.
Time to visit the Fuji forum methinks.

Just going to order a universal L bracket for the moment, I know it won't be perfect on the door, and will cover the battery slot (but we know the batteries last forever!). search for MPU100 on ebay, there are loads for about a fiver.

OOPS. Red face time @Mr Perceptive.
I have ordered one of the £3.99 jobbies. It will suffice for a few weeks. Didn't like to admit to someone as esteemed as yourself because I didn't want any mickey taking at the next meet. But now that you are doing the same I'm no longer embarrassed.:D:D:D

Seeing as the X-T1 is all old and outdated now :) I celebrated at the weekend by only shooting with a 1960s Soligor 350mm f/5.6 prime. Wow. It's not quite got the sharpness of the XF lenses :D Plus, a 500mm odd equivalent is kinda limiting...

Does the 100 fps viewfinder frame rate only work with the vertical grip attached to the XT2? Thanks

I was invited to the Red Bull Hardline downhill MTB event at the weekend as a guest of Jeep. It was a great opportunity to put the new X-T2 through its paces and I was more than happy with the results. I still can't get over how much of an improvement the new AF system is over the X-T1. :)

Here's a few from the day.

Fantastic shots, +1 on number 4 superb. I take it you're happy with the 50-140mm ? Do you have the tele-converter ?

Very impressed with the photos, camera, and your talent. But not necessarily in that order. :D

Great set. Number 4 is epic.

Thanks everyone... I appreciate your comments. :)

Both the 16-55mm and the 50-140 were a joy to use. AF was fast and snappy and the image quality is outstanding even wide open. :)
