The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Just tested my Nissin off camera using YN 603 triggers. Seems to work OK in manual mode. Think the main problem is that it doesn't do TTL on camera. That's where I think the software issue comes in.

I'm still looking for reasons not to get an X-T2. :D So my Nissin flash (that I've used once before) won't work, that's another reason.

No doubt when the X-Pro2 gets it's firmware update the Nissin will stop working on it too!

Just a simple shot of a Deserted Railroad Stn that I've played about with in PP.

X-T1, 10-24mm Lens, 1/900th @ F8, ISO-200, Handheld.

Many thanks Diogo, much appreciated.(y)

BTW - I've got a mint EF 42 flash for sale in the classifieds.

There is discussions suggesting that the Nissin i40 can have a firmware upgrade to make it compatible with the XT2 but it will cost you the princely sum of £20.

Another £20 reason (y) Keep them coming, I must resist......

In theory the 622n TX should work equally as well.
The only thing you wont be able to do compared to the 560TX is changing the flash settings on the fly. But this only works with YN560 III and IV flashes so unless you are going to be using one of those flashes there is probably no need for the 560TX over the 622n.

Well I've faffed about for 30 minutes trying to get my flash & triggers working but no joy. My 622NTX triggers the flash (which has a 622N attached) when I'm hand holding it but not once I attach it to the camera. Any ideas ?

Pete you will probably end up having to change the triggers. Yongnuo products designed for Nikon TTL often don't play nice on Fuji's. Their Canon TTL versions usually work fine in manual mode.

Cheapest way forward is probably a couple of YN-603's which will give manual control but the flash settings can only be controlled on the flash itself.

Alternatively, sell the Nikon compatibles and get the YN-560TX with a YN-560 mk3 or 4. Still full manual but will allow flash settings to be changed from the camera.

Right, more pics needed...

How well does Fuji do colour... this well

I'm starting to think the same. I also have some RF603's which I've just tried and they don't want to co-operate either. They trigger the flash fine until I attach one to the camera and nothing :(

Anyone want some YN622's going cheap ?

Pete, just by chance have you got "Silent Mode" switched on? as this will prevent a flash or trigger from firing.(y)

George.

I'm just on charging the battery as it died on me so I'll check later. Is that in the flash menu ?

Get a second battery. You'll need it. Get a third battery as well. You'll need that too!

Aye, they don't last do they ? (n) Really poor compared to my D750 batteries - shoot an entire wedding on a single charge and then some....

Ok, if I was getting a set of formatt hitech filters, do i need to go firecrest all the way or can I go firecrest for the nd filter and resin for the graduated. Presumably the colour cast on the graduated isn't such a big deal. Not sure why I think that but its a concept i'm running with at present.

That's what I have, I might one day go all Firecrest, but I use the NDs much more than the Grads

@Adam Wortman I have just ordered the firecrest 6 stop, as it's pretty neutral. I have had a set of hitech nd grads for a few years and they don't appear to have any issues that I have ever noticed

The colour cast won't be as noticeable on the grads but if it needs correcting it's harder to correct for a grad than for the ND as only part of the image is effected.

this was an issue for me too, until someone informed me. Im 99%% this will work.

Well I've just checked and "Sound & Flash" is set to "OFF" so I can still hear sounds (shutter, beeps etc) but "Flash Mode" is greyed out - is this right ?

Mine is OFF too. You are not using Electronic Shutter are you?

:D You just beat me to it. I've been messing around and changed the shutter to Mechanical (which in turn, ungreyed-out the flash mode), then selected Commander
and there we go

And WHAT a right fanny-on.....:runaway:

I'm going to have to grab another three batteries for my X-T2 and booster... There's no way I could shoot a wedding on one set. I agree about the D750 batteries... They practically lasted forever! :D

Like it George, think the PP suits it and adds to the disused look.

Interesting building in the background, based on a ship by the looks of it, seen a hotel over here in the same style, but can't remember where
