I love the xt10. My only issue is I find the area around the eye piece digs into my face a little uncomfortably when looking through the viewfinder.

The xt20 will be a bit special too I imagine

NO! They are not allowed to do an X-T20 - at least not too soon, i've only just got my T10! Although if they do one with the new 24mp X-Trans and ACROS then I might change my mind - as long as they do a good trade in bonus!

My X-T2 has arrived, and my first impression on taking it out of the box is just how tiny it feels compared to the X-Pro2! It feels really well-built and the dials are very positive - not at all easy to accidentally turn. Not put a battery or lens on it yet - still savouring the moment! (At my age you learn to extract the maximum enjoyment out of every action)

"Congrats" Sir, a result. "ENJOY".:)

George.

It'll have the same sensor at the xt2. Won't have the buffer though.

I've only had an hour or so to play around with my new toy. Mixed feelings, I'd forgotten how great the XT evf was. If you buy an X-T2 and the grip, try it without the grip first. I put the grip on immediately and when I took it off it felt wrong ! I've been using my X Pro 2 a lot, so it's hard to get back into the T series set up, all the buttons are in the wrong place, the camera without the grip feels too small. The shutter on the X-T2 sounds different, the X Pro 2 sounds much better. But then when I look at my X Pro2 evf it's really not that great. I'm seriously confused as to which I prefer.
I'm hoping to get out this weekend at some point and give the X-T2 a good field test, now all I have to decide is which lens(lenses) to bring

Looking forward to comparisons from the two of you between the X-Pro2 & X-T2, and if you can skew your results in favour of the X-Pro2 that would be great (y)

In fairness i don't suppose any comparisons at the moment will be entirely fair until the X-Pro2 gets the firmware update.

If any of you have the time I'd be interested in what you've set your T2's custom buttons too.

Colin, for me the X Pro 2 is the nicest camera I've owned, I love the look and handling of it, so no matter how I find the T2 I'm always going to favour the Pro 2. But for me they're different beasts for different jobs. I've always preferred the T series for sports photography and the Pro's for everything else.

At the moment I've set them up as all my other Fuji cameras top D button, film simulation, right button auto iso selection, bottom button focus area, and a new one on the left button, boost mode or normal.

Same for me, I love the X-Pro2, it's just a joy to use. The X-T2 is the head choice but the X-Pro2 has my heart :) (so much so I bought a second)

I'll be setting it up the same as the XT1: Bottom Focus area, left: timer, top: Auto ISO, Right: white balance, that way I won't make a mess when switching between cameras!

The new joystick controls the focus points. Choose what point you like, take your shot then double click and focus point reverts to the centre.

Thanks gents, being daft I don't know how to quote more than one at a time.

So.... @Mr Perceptive now has his X-T2.
Where are we going to play tomorrow?

Yes definitely a possibility tomorrow PM+early evening, going to do a familiarisation with the menus later today, and obviously got to charge up the 'S' batteries - did I say batteries not battery, oh yes must have been the 'free' one I got with my purchase!!!

So my t2 and battery grip arrived. The magical battery is on charge - but my 3 old battery are deployed and working.

Although I did a test session with this camera previously, it's nice to sit down in the comfort of your own home and really take it all in. Very pleased to be able to take this on Holiday with me tomorrow.

I love the battery grip on the xt1, but this new one is class leading. I think this will spend majority of its time on my camera.

Now that I've packed my undercrackers, next job is to fit the grip. On the camera.

Yes @Mr Perceptive , I have to be home tomorrow by 5PM. We are going to a party. Sorry, she is going to a party. I'm the significant other.
All my batteries seem to work. Old Fuji, Black Expro, White Expro and new Fuji. Think there's some scaremongering going on!

So where and when?

Xpro batteries currently doing the job.
I think the only report of a lock up was by the angry YouTuber - which doesn't mean a lot.

Having watched his video (aaarrghhh) he is probably right in what he is saying. If you use an X-T1 battery in it and shoot raw + fine to both cards simultaneously at maximum burst speed on the fastest cards you can use, it probably will lock up. But in reality how often will that be the case? With my X-Pro2 I usually shoot raw to one card and jpeg to the other.

Was about to add that maybe a Pro sports shooter would maybe want maximum burst with writing to both cards but chances are they would be shooting jpeg anyway. And even bigger chance they would be using the battery grip for extra power anyway.

Every new camera or lens that comes out has this same problem. Some pasty faced nerd (usually from USA) uses the gear to limits that even pros would seldom approach just to see if they can break it. They score big brownie points and become "famous". Remember the hoohaa when the 5D3 came out. Some "expert" found out that if you did a long - 30 mins or so - exposure at high ISO with the lens cap on and in bright sunlight then the sensor picked up traces of a light leak. OK, it shouldn't have been there but in practice who was it ever going to affect?

I'll text tonight when I know my exact timings for tomorrow, remember LIverpool have their first home game tomorrow, so will want to avoid.

I'm sure it wasn't that idiot - the other one that was linked on release day (I think)

Town centre/Pier Head should be OK. There is a tram and bus museum in Birkenhead if that floats your boat.

Never use mine, do you have any idea how much you are devaluing it?! [emoji1]
Being serious for once...our ex next door neighbour thought he was a petrol head. Couldn't drive for toffee but could quote you any stats about any car. He liked MX5s and bought a succession of them. But he would never go anywhere in them. Always went by bus, train or coach. Said he didn't want to put mileage on them because it devalued his trade in. Did about 3500 miles a year. Only cleaned them once - just before their third birthday when he was trading them in; he wouldn't have a car with an MOT!

Yup. But he's gone now and wouldn't tell anyone on the road where he moved to.
Your censored comment is very apt.
I think he may have moved across the road from me, because he's a t***

Has anyone tested the censor filter on here ?

Using that criteria SWMBO must be famous, she breaks all kind of s***.

No, but I know how to break it.
Not going to try though - life's too precious!!!
Go for it, you can always do what the slimy, I mean angry photographer did when he got booted off the Fuji X forum, come back pretending to be a 63 year old woman ffs

Who was that? Never heard of that one.
If you like I'll tell you what to do, but no comeback to me at all.

This is what I emailed Fuji, and their reply is below.

Hi, I've pick up my X-T2 yesterday and would like to know if my X-T1 batteries with work with the X-T2? There seems to be some confusion online about this. People are reporting lock ups. Also I have two SanDisk memory cards, one is 90MBs and the other 60MBs. Can I use them at the same time in my X-T2, and will they run at their rated speeds, or will the faster card run at the slower card rate?
I look forward to your reply.

Dear Peter,

Thank you for contacting FUJIFILM UK.

We can confirm, the X-T1 battery can be used but is not recommended to use for long periods. This is because the new battery handles the heat much more efficiently than the standard battery and if possible, use the new battery. The two card slots are compatible with UHS-11 type cards, therefore the camera will utilize the full data transfer speed for both card slots.
