What's Wilkinsons like nowadays? I remember them being in Wigan in the 60s. They will be the nearest camera shop to me (Lancaster branch) when we move to Settle in November.
They are a High Street shop. That is good in that they exist but they are in a cutthroat market place so don't expect fancy deals or discounts and don't even thinking of asking if they do price match.
I have only used the Southport and Liverpool stores. The staff are invariably pleasant and helpful with a good knowledge of their stock....but don't start asking too many techy questions because they won't have an answer.
I went to them for the T2 because prices seem to be totally set, even with the Internet suppliers, and thinking ahead....if there are any teething problems it's easier to return the camera to them than it is to Jessops or Wex etc.

Manager told me some years ago that they only make something like 7% gross on camera bodies and lenses hence little discount. They make their money on peripherals so double hence little discount.

In that they exist and you can get to touch and feel gear they are very good. But I wonder how many test in there and buy online? They will order stuff in for you but they only get a delivery once a week from HQ so they are not always the fastest.

I've pick up my T2, battery on charge and the X-T1's long eyecup EC-XTL fits. :)

Cheers! Need to pickup a long eyecup too!

Ahh crap that means I'm going to be stalking one of them round Fujis website for months now trying to nail another one!

Why the hell didn't they just fit the better one from the factory on the T2?

I've just picked one up for less than a tenner from Amazon

Aha! A stroke of luck - just bought the last one! Take that you who've already got your cameras :p

The eye cup on the T2 seems to me to be nearly identical to the extended eye cup on the T1.

I thought I'd read somewhere the eyecup was non-removable ? I haven't tried to remove it yet. Still trying to set the function buttons same as my xp2

Hope you are all enjoying your new cameras and look forward to hearing your comments and seeing your photos. I was number crunching but can't justify the expense and decided that I would rather purchase a new lens instead.

Currently have the 23 56 and bought again a 50-200. I can't decide between a 10-24, 16-55 or the 18-55 and a flash.

I did see somewhere on YouTube that taking burst shots on the old battery can freeze the camera

I used 2 old batteries in the grip on mine this afternoon, the burst mode and boost mode worked fine. Didn't take a lot of shots though, the evf black out in boost mode is vastly better.

I've only had an hour or so to play around with my new toy. Mixed feelings, I'd forgotten how great the XT evf was. If you buy an X-T2 and the grip, try it without the grip first. I put the grip on immediately and when I took it off it felt wrong ! I've been using my X Pro 2 a lot, so it's hard to get back into the T series set up, all the buttons are in the wrong place, the camera without the grip feels too small. The shutter on the X-T2 sounds different, the X Pro 2 sounds much better. But then when I look at my X Pro2 evf it's really not that great. I'm seriously confused as to which I prefer.
I'm hoping to get out this weekend at some point and give the X-T2 a good field test, now all I have to decide is which lens(lenses) to bring

Oh yeah in answer to a previous poster, I've used 3 after market batteries with no issues, including burst mode and 4K video. The grip is great, it charges 2 batteries in no time at all.
