Went to see the X-T2 yesterday in my local Jessops. The weight with the battery grip is taking it into the slr territory imo. The reason I went for the X-T1 was it was lighter and smaller than my 5D. I should of asked to try it without the grip I guess. Jessops offered me just under £405 trade in for the X-T1 and Fuji also give £100. I've not been able to get out as much as I would like with the X-T1, so not sure if I would be upgrading just for the sake of it.

I'm going to go have a look today. I'm coming at it from a slightly different angle. I don't really care about the weight - I'm primarily changing from my D750 for the jpegs and shooting control of the Fuji. That said, the Fuji with battery grip and 50-140 compared to the Nikon D750 with battery grip and 70-200 must still be significantly lighter, right? I can't seem to find anything on the weight with battery grip attached.

Love the content and processing on this.....! The slightly raised foot is cool looking and adds to the overall capture.

Without the grip it is more or less the same as the t1 in size and weight.

He looks keen to go - it wasn't that way for me in the 50s. The two old spinsters (head & deputy head) were dragons of the first order and ruled with a rod of bamboo. I hated school and am so pleased things are different nowadays☺

The grip is massive! It's much bigger than the xt1 grip so without the grip your looking at a body that's just a few mm larger and a few grams heavier. Not in the SLR territory then, not by a long stretch unless you like the canon 1300d and even that's still chunkier and a larger unit. Definitely worth a look without the grip on. My only gripe is the added performance the grip brings, why? If anything processing power would drop as the body would have to handle the buttons and battery data which would consume resources. Bit of a strange move by Fuji in my opinion.

At the risk of being controversial, I have my own opinions about large grips. Sure, they can be useful if you habitually shoot in the portrait orientation, but I strongly suspect that many people fit them in order to look macho and professional. I have tried them because I had a shoulder problem, now resolved by surgery, which meant it was painful to curve my hand over the camera, but I hated it. These cameras were initially designed with compactness in mind. Why spoil it with a grip? Simply carry a couple of spare batteries in your pocket and enhance your manly attributes this way! ;)
 
Can you opt to buy the printed magazine delivered to your door, or, an electronic version sent to your email address etc? I'd rather have a printed magazine if there was a choice (?).
 
I subscribe to the magazine - it's not that much ($4.95) and I enjoy reading the articles. Just like any magazine there are some articles I prefer over others, but all in all I think it's a very nice publication and well worth the money.

Moving to nz in October so should get all my vat back on that. When I factor in the sale of my niKon kit I'm only 1k in the red for all this plus the xt2 and grip. Happy days.

Still tempted by the 50-140. Talk me into it?

Good list. I wouldn't be without my 50-140. The sharpness, speed and accuracy of focus are second to none, and the IS is the best of any lenses I've tried. More versatile than you think, and not as heavy or cumbersome as you first imagine.

I used to have an S3 which has a built in grip, you have no choice about it. It used to drive me nuts as I'd every now and then unlock and half press the portrait orientation shutter button with the palm of my hand when shooting normally. It never felt right shooting in the portrait orientation either.

Speaking of unlocking things with the palm, I really hope that the XT2 has a better memory card slot cover than the T1, I'm forever opening mine by accident - remember the time I even broke it off?
 
Another small thing I forgot.....the remote socket is a different shape so if you use a micro USB connector at present you'll need to get a new one which are probably only available from Fuji at present. Those with 2.5mm jack connectors will be OK.

Well, went & looked at the X2, and came away with a 14mm f1.4.

Oh, and I ordered the X2[emoji12]. I've decided to let my 7D2 go, and the longer glass to pay for it. The 6D may go as well when the Mrs finds out.

I'll get the 100-400 & both converters

The XF14 is a stellar lens, I've owned one in the past. Here's an interesting review of it by UK photographer Dean Martin.

Anyone know of a better trade in than £404 plus £100 from Fuji for X-T1 body only against the X-T2? Just curious, I've not decided what to do yet.
