The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

lol, well that was a spur of the moment thing - 18-135mm ordered, well rather won on eBay :)

Still weather sealing should be nice to have...

Ha I was going to bid for that too...also spur of the moment! Went up a bit though so I didn't bid. Congrats :)

I very nearly didn't too, I upped my max bid by a fiver at the last moment, if I hadn't it would have gone to someone else

On hols so thought I'd try out some different workflow. Ooc jpg->tablet with lr mobile ->Flickr

Interesting to see what the quality is like with LR Mobile - I haven't used it for anything other than mobile phone photos. Seems like it might be worth experimenting with. (Although I do have a Windows tablet so I can use the full Lightroom on the move...)

FWIW, these look a little oversharpened to me - perhaps too much clarity? Particularly on the (otherwise very cute) first photo, the skin seems a bit artificially textured. Might just be a personal taste thing...

Jessops bundles look no good to me. With the 56 you are paying £730 for the lens. With the 50-140 £1101. With the 18-135 £588. You can definitely get that glass cheaper elsewhere.

That's not too bad at UK prices, Wex want £619 for the 18-135, £1199 for the 50-140 and £699 for the 56. Refurb shop want only £450 for the 18-135 though so yeh maybe I'll just buy separate!

Only thing about the X-T2 that puts me off (apart from the cost) is packing an APS-C sensor with 24mp. The cameras with 16mp from different manufacturers seem to be a good compromise between noise, image quality and print size.

Can't afford one now anyway, but if I could think I would wait and see what others say about it

I looked at the comparison images on DPreview, there was no contest - the XT2 is considerably clearer that then the T1, which is what swung it for me!

No Longer Available.

How much are they going for as a matter of interest as I may be selling mine?

Loving this image George.....I can smell summer ozzing from it...! I'm on the lookout for a XF10-24 for my new X adventures, a fantastic versatile lens.

Regards;
Pete

I don't know if any you you Fuji fiends are near Southampton but LCE are having a Fuji day next month.

Nice one, will take a visit. Might even take my dad who is constantly threatening to buy a Fooj to run alongside his D610.

Many thanks for the comment, I'll take a look at the originals later to work out if its LR Mobile or the original processing (I normally run from RAW rather than JPG, so no idea what the camera is set to :D

Interesting feedback. The Fuji cameras are certainly a lot nicer to use than Sony's, if nothing else. If tracking is better too, then that's a slam dunk.
Well it arrived, I had the dogs outside, took 42 pics on multiple bursts and took 43 on the 7D... I got 36 in focus on the canon with the nifty fifty at f2.8.. Slapped the 56mm on the Fuji at f2.8 and I got 33 out of 42.. Happy with that! Not quite 37 out of 43 but I couldn't care less tbh, the size and weight difference is worth the compromise! Happy chap! Xt2 should finally be the camera to turn the die hard DSLR users over to a CSC!

Just for info, sharpness was set to +1 in the camera, which probably contributed. Also I realised the time was set incorrectly. Hands up anyone else who just shoots away without checking these things

It pairs VERY well with the 100-400 so I would expect it to do likewise with the 50-140.

Well I've just listed all my canon kit now I've got he XT1 so hopefully I'll be able to pay for the body and get myself a zoom (70-200 equivalent) to couple all the primes which cover the low 18-60mm area.

I'm all anxious, I hope I've made the right choice haha!

Ha ha I did the same thing. However, my anxiety is a result of it bring so hard to choose from the amazing glass that is available.

Don't choose, buy everything. :D

Don't choose, buy everything. :D

That is my problem.

At present I want:

10-24 - landscape and general wide angle works
16-55 - high quality walk around - flash work
23 - light walk around low light wide - but I already have the X100T
50-140 - sports, portraits, kids playing etc
56 - portraits, low light tight

By my calcs i'm looking at a hefty bill for that lot.... especially when you factor in the XT2 and grip. Ifmy Mrs realized the true extent of this madness I would be toast. She still thinks its funded by the sale of my D750 - not quite!

Maybe I didn't give it enough chance, but I bought the 16-55 and pretty soon sent it back as it didn't seem enough of an upgrade from the stabilised 18-55.
