The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I'm the first one to admit that my landscape photography leaves a lot to be desired,:( but this shot taken at "Lands End" I thought was approaching reasonable.

X-T1, 18-55mm Lens, 1/750th @ F8, ISO-200, Handheld.

A nice scene, going from foreground interest right through to distant cliffs with a natural eye path along the shore line.

"I was only in Cornwall on a whistle stop visit on business, but the weather was pretty awful and the wind around Lands End was very strong. The shot shows the best half hour of weather we had".:)

Be awesome if they put ibis into it

I just though from what I seen ibis seems more effective ?

Would you say it better than other lens stabilisation

I've personally only used one Fuji lens with iOS. with the 100-400. I'll say that's the best example of image stability I've ever used. I was able to hand hold the lens at the long end with the 1.4 tc attached. So approx 800mm hand held. Hugely impressive.

As I also do use Sony I've got used to the ibis which does steady the ship when looking through the evf.

One of the potential advantages for NOT having ibis is that the sensor is held rigid at all times. Having said that, Olympus implementation of ibis is very good, but the lens stabilisation on Fuji lenses, especially the 50-140, is incredible.

As you got them both permanently do you see the difference. I guess your saying Sony works better via the EVF

I've not got the steadiest of hands. But enjoy how still everything feels when using an 85mm on the Sony.
Compared to say the sigma 85 on Nikon or 56 on Fuji- the Sony ibis kept everything nice and still so I felt I could compose the shot easier. But the shutter speed will likely be fast enough to counter any camera shake.
I've just spent the day using the Fuji 90 (135mm equivalent)- has no iOS but I'm pretty sure I've got some decent shots from it.

Only had the fuji 50-140 a few days but huge difference, for me, between having the iS switched to shoot only and on all the time.Should make no difference to pictures taken but looking through the view finder the view is much more stable with IS on all the time.

So, since getting the X-T1, I really have been waiting for a decent subject. My nephew (and Godson) has just had a new addition to the family.

All very impromptu, young Molly (8 days old) was asleep next to me on my wife's lap.

Love that first one. Spot on focus at 1.4 :)

Can only echo what Jonathan has said about the OIS in the 100-400. Other than a few long exposures I tried, I used mine (with the TC) handheld for pretty much all the shots in HERE (apart from the bike, the flies and the panorama). Bear in mind as well that after dark, there's a 99.9999999% chance that I may have been drinking as well! At the long end, with the telecon, it's got an EFL of 840mm IIRC.

Just bought a second hand XT1 and decided to give it a trail on real wedding. Almost all of the wedding I covered with my trusty 5D 3 and X-Pro1s ........ all was going well until I discovered the horizontal banding under certain lighting conditions with the Electronic Shutter. Talk about flying by the seat of your pants !!!!! Anyway, no shots lost and I was surprised that though it shows on the thumbnail preview it disappears in Lightroom.

An education. Lovely camera.

I've just posted a wanted ad for a lens turbo II if anyone is looking to move one on :-)

That's interesting. I have Panasonic cameras and the banding has been shot ruining for me with CS5. I can't see any way to remove it.

Just got back from a week in the Swiss Alps, surprisingly decent weather compared with the forecast, and the X-T10 got quite a workout as you might expect.:) I've only looked at the first day's worth so far, but here's one from the very end of it. Managed to remove some electrical cables by taking two pictures at different heights and making use of the parallax effect relative to the background, something that made me very happy when I finally thought of it :D

So I currently own an x-t10, and always said I wish I could have an x-t10 in rangefinder form...
It seems the latest firmware transformed the x-e2 into just that, only without the flippy screen.
Anyone got both who could give an opinion?
AFAIK the only differences are slightly less AF points and no flippy screen.

I have an XE1 and the lack of flippy screen is incredibly annoying as I like to get down low.

A work-around, at least as far as the XE2 is concerned, could be to use the remote app on a smartphone. Not the same, I know, but a work-around. That's really the only thing I miss on my X-Pro2.

Completed the form for cash back on a fuji lens this afternoon at 14:28, got an email back at 14:37 validating my claim and cash should be in account within 14 days. The cash back person at Fuji must be sitting at their PC waiting for the claims to come in. :) Must be a youngster cos us oldies never reply or complete anything in a few mins in case "they" think we can`t be busy.

Fuji customer service has always been top notch, well in my experience anyway!

Very nice shot Dave, great composition, well exposed, with a very nice but menacing looking sky.(y)
