The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Had a barbecue this afternoon given the nice weather. Popped our 6 month old daughter on the grass to play/explore and managed some photos.
these two are my favourite - #1 for the eye contact with camera and #2 for the catchlights in the eyes

I like the pose in #2 best :) Have you got a colour version?

So today, it was something else retro for the Fuji, well retro looking anyway!

Needs softening up a bit and still not 100% on the colour but it's really good quality. May fit it to the x30 instead of the X-T10 actually, which if course means I'll need another! [emoji85]

I'm glad he's back making those straps, fair play :)

Yep. Looked around for a Gordy strap then realised Clive makes these right here in the UK.

I gather he had a pretty horrendous time of it so as you say, happy to see him back at work and making these quality straps again.

Footprint?

35 MM. was delivered from the refurb site yesterday[emoji1] Tried it today and whenever I reviewed a picture then cancelled the review It nearly always came up with an error- switch off blah blah. Phoned Fuji and they are sending me a box to return, no more in stock so gone for refund. Wex have them in stock with the £25 cash back so new lens being delivered tomorrow. With cash back and quidco only an extra £30 ish for a new lens so not bad[emoji1] Wonder if that is why it was returned it the first place- lens contacts were clean and lens looked new

Seems like a camera fault rather than lens

Is it just me, but I don't get wrist straps for anything but small compacts, maybe an X30 or even a Canon EOS M, but XT-1 or 10 or X pro's, for me it's has to be a neck strap.

Tbf I really like a wrist strap but not a pansy thin type. Cordweaver or similar, pd clutch is cool but I'm using a slide at the moment... quite bulky in a bag though.

Just you Jim lol

I have a peak design slide on my xt1 but if have say a 27 or 35 on it will change it to the peak design cuff. I used my 56 last week just with the wrist strap as I Find the xt1 comfortable to hold.

Mine also arrived yesterday, I put it on my X pro2 briefly to test it, then put on my 35mm F1.4 for some comparison shots. I noticed the F1.4 was whirring and clicking all the time, as if it was in AF-C mode. My first x100t from the refurb store arrived with this symptom, it was stuck in AF-C, I returned it and got a perfect copy. I thought my XP2 had developed this fault.
After a bit of faffing about I discovered pre AF was on, as I'd only used the 16-55mm F2.8 and the newly arrived 35mm F2 on it, I hadn't realised pre AF was on because those lenses are to all intents and purposes silent, but the F1.4 is really very noisy. Anyway long story short, from the limited amount of test shots I've taken I'm loving the F2, I now have to decide whether to keep the F1.4 or not. I've used this lens more than any other, it's a lovely lens, I just hadn't noticed how noisy it was until I'd used the F2.

This reminds me, I've an unused Footprint wrist strap and neck strap I must list in the classifieds.

As most of my photography takes place while I'm out walking the dog I have to have a neck/strap otherwise my camera would be ruined/dropped in no time at all.

I just don't like using a neck strap I guess and would rather have my camera in hand or in my bag.

Same went for when I had my D7100 + 17-50mm f2.8, hence why I stopped using it so much.

Neck strap if I just have the one lens. If i'm out with more I have a messenger bag so no need. Only reason I want a wrist strap is for security when i'm leaning over an edge or something.

Overkill I know, but I use my R strap with the X-T1. I just like having the ability to park it out of the way when walking but then easily lift it up to my eye when needed. I do like wrist straps though, handy when you want that extra security while handholding.

Never used a wrist strap. As a guitar player I'm so used to having stuff slung cross-body on my left shoulder that's always how I've had carried cameras.

I've usually got the 100-400 on a peak wrist strap and an xt10/xp1 on a peak neck strap with a prime or small zoom, mainly because the one on the neck is a backup if the theres nothing for the long lens.

The wrist strap on the long lens is just to protect it from my stupidity if I let go of the tripod foot, which is way too small Fuji!

It's "mold" related, m8. A vimto I left in my garage. :D
For the denouement for this thread its usual to display a wide shot of the mystery object to reveal it in context. (Thank the good Lord it's not my belly button  )

There's a road under there, and 30 minutes earlier I drove across it and the water was nowhere to be seen. Then I was stuck with the Irish Sea lapping round my wheels for 3 hours.
All good fun.
