The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Andrew, you're starting to really p*** me and a few others off now. Go do your research, buy your stuff and then join this thread if you ever buy anything Fuji. I'm not often rattled but seriously and this time I'm not jesting or pulling your leg. You're coming off as a real pratt.

Thank you for your honest comment

You can add more than one image per post mate ;)

Don't understand the 18-55 rather than 35mm comment, you can set the 35mm to f16 and get dof if that is what you want. Or did you mean the field of view (wide angle)?

My apologies, should've posted all in one go.
I was thinking about field of view as in some places I didn't have enough space to move back a bit.

Guys, can we cut out the name calling please.

@rookies , remember my post from earlier in the thread? You're doing it again, asking the same questions over and over. People have answered as much as they can and are, once again, losing patience and getting frustrated so I've removed your ability to post in the thread.

I'll do you a deal. Go out and buy an X-T1 then drop me a PM and I'll consider lifting the thread-ban.

Sometimes depends on your classified ratio though :D
My classified ratio doesn't matter, Colin. Advice taken on board anyway but with a 2 year son around it's difficult to concentrate sometimes. No argument as I should've posted everything in one go, I agree with all of you who made the comment.

Sorry Marc, I'm tired this evening but really? Plus my wife is making me watch BGT. How much can a man take? :wideyed:

@maddog.mark
Not sure if you have solved your problem but here's my flash settings which work when TX is on camera.

Thanks not solved it yet, been out. Will play again over the weekend. Might ask you to delve into the X-T1 settings at some point if you don't mind.

Lovely photos by the way, looks like you visited some cool places!

Yeah sure, just hit me up with a message and i will be happy to help further!

OMG it's almost a week since I got back from Cornwall and I've still only processed 5 pictures :D The joy of children!

BTW, due to aforementioned childcare, I only really used the 18-55mm for the majority of the time...and it was pretty damn good!

Nothing wrong with the 18-55mm!

Loving my new toy though ;)

Well I don't know what I did or how I did it, but I now have a working 560tx. Only thing I did was turn forced flash off and then on again, mounted the unit (back to front by accident but neither camera or unit were turned on). Turned everything on and boom flash fired.

Excellent!
And if you change the power settings on the TX does the 560III make the same change?

The Helios 58mm is a nice lens on Fujis and the focus peaking makes things a breeze.
It's a bloody bargain for the price you can get it for and the focus peaking is a massive help.

Astounded at how shallow the DoF is at f2. Sure it's even shallower than my old 35mm f1.8g on my D7100.

Yes all works. Wondering if I need to be really precise with mounting or if asking it to communicate with the 560III and a flash on a 603 controller was all to much!

Had some strange goings on today with my flash. Been using it in commander mode with my nissin off camera in slave. Most of the time it was working fine, occasionally though, neither flash would fire. It wasn't a cycle time issue since there were about 30secs between shots and all batteries with good charge.
Only thing I can think of is that I was using auto shutter speed. Could it be that if the shutter speed goes above 1/180 (max sync) that the commander doesn't fire?

I used to have one (picked up at a car booty for £5 with a Zemit EM attached) when i had the old Fuji XM1 and it was a great we lens.....bullet proof build by the Russians :D

Now that's a bargain! Worth a fiver non functioning, as a paper weight.....thing weighs some amount.

I dont think breaching max sync speed stops the commander from firing, unless i am wrong it should still fire but you will just end up with a dark band across the bottom of your images.

I thought as much. There must be some foible i'm missing since using forced flash worked flawlessly. I'll have a trawl through the manual.

While i'm here - anyone else got one of the eBay grips on an x-t10? Are they all as bad a fit as mine or have I just picked a dud? Don't want to order another of the same...

Hi, is the Helios an M42 mount lens? And I'm assuming that ebay is my friend here. Apologies if I missed the info earlier I'm using my phone, so going back through the thread is a bit time consuming
:-)

It is. Plenty on ebay too. Mine was picked up for £27 delivered and is in great nick.

Maybe that'll be the push that gets him over the line and he'll finally be buying an X-T1 :p

Ok thanks both. Think I have the adapter already so may look at another mf lens.

Hate to say it but the Fuji grip will be the best bet - not cheap but the one I have for the XT1 is great [emoji51]

:)

Scour EBay for Zenit cameras with the lens attached, they can go for a tenner :)

Once you have a Helios, your next stop is the 135mm Jupiter 11A for more Russian industrialness :)
