The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

You're missing the vital point in that I suck at stuff like that [emoji23]
What you really need is a half-case! It seems the one in classifieds is now reduced ...

Back to the 18-55 and 18-135 debate, I own both and agree with all the comments but would like to add that the OIS on the 18-135 is at least a stop better.

The 18-55 is in my bag more often and I only bought the 18-135 so that I could have more IR focal lengths without hotspots

Call me Old School, but I've always believed that quality starts to get compromised when the zoom ratio exceeds 3:1.

I didn't realise that was an option either, thanks for that.

Just had a quick look and VAT is added to the 12 euros, which makes it 14.40 euros a month. Minimum sub is 12months for 2 computers.
Alternatively i've found a discount code for outright purchase to use on 3 computers which makes it 301.20 euros, incl.vat (equal to 21 months sub)

Might give the free trial a go again and see how I get on with it.

There's a few codes around to get the subscription half price if you're buying other stuff. The Nikon magazine subscription comes with it and I think Smumug subscription does aswell. I could be wrong of course [emoji38]

I would definitely give the trial a go. It's quite different in terms of layout and workflow to LR so I decided the marginal improvement in IQ wasn't worth me learning a new way or working. Plus LR has a lot more 3rd party support with plug ins and presets etc. which make life easier!

Ignore my earlier message, thought we were talking about LR subscription [emoji51]

I was always told off at school for not reading the question properly [emoji38][emoji38]

I would like to say thank you to the guys for your input about the 2 lens thanks you

Well my Amazon warehouse XT1 arrived a couple of hours ago. Big relief upon opening the box that it actually did come with the 18-135 and it is perfect as new condition. Not a mark on it.
Body has firmware 4.0 and lens has 1.01.
All leads, strap etc sealed and unused. The packaging wasn't even damaged, well apart from the ridiculous amount of sellotape that Amazon sealed the box with.
That's one big viewfinder on this camera!

Hi

Been looking at the X-T10 for a while now as need/want to replace my DSLR, lenses, flash and all the weight that goes with that kit for something a lot lighter but that still allows some control, has an auto mode for when you hand it to someone else etc. Main reason for getting rid of the weight is that the rest of the family just complain when I'm lugging the DSLR around and all the looking after the bag etc. It also does my back in!
So, looking at 2 contenders right now - the Olympus Pen F and the X-T10. I've seen a bundle for the X-T10 which includes the 18-55 and 55-200 XF kit lenses. Initial use and driver is an upcoming family holiday in the summer. So the question is - will this type of bundle cover most situations (I know the wider end won't be fully covered)? I might look to add some primes later as needed/funds allow.

The bundle above is around £950. Are there any other deals worth looking at?

Also, anyone compared to the Olympus Pen F?? One additional thing - thinking of the X-T10 over the X-T1 due to the weight but also the size etc. for when the kids use it.

Thanks a lot - going mad looking at the options!

I did the same and got an xt10 with 18-55 and 55-200, for the exact same reasons!
Couldn't be happier. Nowadays I typically have the body around my neck and the other lens stashed in a pocket. Looking at a small messenger bag for the upcoming hot days when I have no pockets.

I did the same but went for just the 18-55. Was £540 for the pair.

Such a great deal, congrats!!!!

A like new Graphite X-T1 with tatty box has appeared on eBay from a seller near me the day after my Amazon Warehouse parcel went missing. Not sure whether I believe in massive coincidences or not! But Amazon's problem not mine now, getting a shiny black one from twist this week along with a 16mm 1.4 from eBay. Can't wait to play with it!

I forgot to mention in my earlier post but my delivery almost went to the wrong house. It just happened that I saw a white van from the window upstairs and went outside to look. As I saw the woman about to knock on a neighbours house- I said is that for number 3 and she said yes. She was going to deliver it to number 3 but the wrong avenue.

I'm an honest guy, but i'd have a real moral dilema if someone mistakenly delivered an xt1 to me!

Lucky escape! Amazon Logistics?

Anyway, main thing is I will have an X-T1 at the end of all this!

Also had the same issue with Amazon Logistics, what happened to using real couriers instead of random people driving around and delivering parcels for less than minimum wage. Gee, I wonder why some of the high value parcels go "missing".

So.......I have always loved the images the canon 135 F2 produces but I never owned one. Has anyone come over to Fuji from canon and used the 90mm F2.
This looks like it could be my dream lens .......oh no stop it now!!!!! The XT1 was a GAS relapse.....must not go down that path again.
But how can people resist at £499 when in stock on the Fuji refurb store.-see I am even trying to justify a purchase again.....Nooooooooooo! Hehe

Supposedly the best 135mm out of any brand. I think like most 135 is a bit long, 85mm is more versatile.

Nice, Hampton Court?

Any idea if Fuji will do Summer cash back this year? Last year it started on 21st May and ran until August...

Yeah the 56 1.2 would be more versatile as an all rounder but when you are in lust with a particular lens versatility goes out the window!

I don't use my 18-135 that much since getting a 10-24 and 35 f1.4, but I wouldn't want rid of it. I don't care exactly how pixel-peepingly sharp the 18-55 is, the 135 end of mine still manged to give me this!

I thought there was already a Cashback promo running?

I like the idea of printing on the go, but when I looked into it I saw a load of stuff about instax prints coming out too dark. There were guides for overexposing/editing before printing etx but it kind took away from the simple instant results I was looking for.
