The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Dear all Fuji long exposure experts :).

Will the XT1 suffer from light leak through the EVF while shooting directly AWAY from the sun?
Few of my shots today seemed to have a much brighter centre than expected. Fixed it mostly but wasnt sure if EVF was the issue.

One below after some light room playing:

No more chance of light leak through the viewfinder than there is through the LCD screen.

I remember putting this picture up in the landscape thread and was told that the barbed wire fence is distracting and the windmills do nothing. The fact is as long as I like it I'm happy then that's fine, I don't mind feedback as to ways I can improve the photo or what I could have done better but take the fence View attachment 62589and the windmills out and there's b****r all left!!

Completely agree! Actually, I think the fence is an important part of what makes that photograph.

Not possible, there is no light path from the finder to the sensor, as in a dslr.

Thanks :) - Il have to work on composition and my PP skills a little more then to compensate!

I have found the metering to go a bit AWOL with slight variations in focus point. So have an experiment with different size focus point.

Really like #1 - the blurred reflections makes this stand out a lot for me! Could you see through the water at all?

No!!!

Anyone know where I can source a lens turbo, specifically Minolta to Fuji?

Ill take a look, I see lots of other manufacturers are also making these now. thanks.

no worries I know the make all sort s of them now... quite the invention by the looks to be honest :-)

Speaking of 'over' processing. The conditions were not great for my style of shooting at Castle Combe on Sunday (bright sunny day), so I had a play instead, had a good tinker with B&W settings and pulled the cloud back in quite agressively...

Do many people use the Fuji XF 16mm? I love my Samyang 12mm for what it is but want to grab a nice Fuji AF wide prime.
The 14mm appeals but the DOF from the 16mm 1.4 produces some awesome images (possibly a tick against this rather than the 14mm)... and its Weather Resistant... which is ideal as I live in the lakes...
Would combo nicely with my 18-135mm aswell???

But... I just don't seem to see it talked about much??? Am I missing something.

Love this shot and love the car also!

To be honest i would say there is room for further tweaking to suit.
Hell its an agressive car so i reckon it would suit a bit more grit to the image.

@chrism_scotland has the 16mm on the X-Pro2 and rates it highly, he will probably tell you more.

I'm almost certain that @manualfocus-g uses or has used something like that. He may be able to help.(y)

George.

Been in Rome all week. Mostly 35 1.4 and 10-24. Finally feeling like I've got the hang of the 35mm prime thing and thoroughly looking forward to a big-screen review of my shots. Obviously will add the favourites here in due course, and may switch to the f2 WR depending on how much I have actually done anything remotely useful at f1.4...

Hi Twist, I don't think Zhongyi make a Lens Turbo II for Minolta to Fuji (there's nothing on their website). There's version 1 clones on eBay, but I found the original version a bit naff (seriously soft sides). I currently have a version II in EOS mount. This works very well, but isn't quite machined right and marked the inside of my last x-t1 :o

Thanks, I have done a bit more research and seen images of these adapters marking and also that they suck at infinity. Think I'll give them a miss then tbh, appreciate you confirming. (y)

How much does the 27mm go for second hand these days? Got my 56mm still to sell, but wondering whether to keep the 35mm f1.4 on my X-A2 or sell that too and go really compact with the 27mm pancake. I've not seen many photos posted with the 27mm really, maybe will have a look on flickr for some.

I have a 27MM - I've been happy with the Image quality :) This they are worth around £120 - £130.

Its a nice little lens, very sharp wide open and tiny. I sold mine which was mint for £135, bought another lol.

Sounds promising on the 27mm front, I'll keep my eyes peeled. In the meantime, will try to use the 35mm a bit to see if I'll miss it :)

This has not been a good day.
Had reserved the day for a trip out with @Mr Perceptive . Unfortunately work intervened so that had to be cancelled.
Decided I'd have a trip by myself to Coniston Copper Mines.
Then Royal Mail tell me that a cheapo Macro lens that @WingTsun pointed me at was being delivered today. End of Coniston.
Postie has just been and brought.....nothing!
SWMBO decided that as I was at home I should go and see doctor, so I made an appointment and just got back.
Type 2 diabetes. Eughh!
Someone give me some good news.

With Diabetes T2 (or 1) you get your prescriptions free. So more money for lenses.
