The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I know what it is that I like about you......

NOTHING.

Yeah, you said that, Frank. :D

Reminds me of my Dad when he worked in Saudi. One of the locals asked him if he'd settled in and enjoyed the country:

"Oh yes, I love it. So much, in fact, I'm having a big party for all my friends this weekend", he said in a broad Glaswegian accent.

"That sounds great, where is it?", asked the local enthusiastically.

"You see that phone box?"

:p

Think I've changed my mind about this Fuji switch[emoji14]
But you haven't answered the question. Rangers or Celtic?
I live near Liverpool and the first question is always "Red or blue". Everybody is one or the other.

It's all booked up for your visit, all you have to do is turn up.

Mind you, I'm a Hammers fan, so will that count against me?

I have the tickets. Unless Virgin Trains/ Network Rail mess things up I'll be there.
Please be gentle with me. I'm just a country bumpkin.

Neither actually! From the borders originally (yes, I'm a country bumpkin also) and always played rugby as a kid / teenager.

That said, I've suffered as an Arsenal fan since I was about 9.

OOh the XT2 images look interesting - nice to see a lock on the card door! I've already broken my XT1 door off once because it isn't particularly well secured.

I have to say, I've fallen out of love with the 18-55mm. The aperture ring is just too easily nudged when zooming and I'm fed up of loading photos into Lightroom to find that, instead of f4, I've shot at f13!

I know I can see in the viewfinder what aperture it's on but I'm very much a fan of making my settings and shooting without having to check everything again.

I usually have the 27mm on the X-T1, which I'm very happy with, but I sometimes want something a bit wider so I'm wondering how good the 18mm f2 is and whether I could get one 2nd hand for roughly what I'd get for the 18-55mm.

After all that, I went completely in the other direction!

I had a look through the photos I'd taken with the 18-55mm and realised I used the 55 end way more than the 18 so I ended up getting a 60mm f2.4 from the classifieds on here. 18-55 is off to MPB tomorrow.

The 60mm arrived this morning, that hood is a stonker!

I see youre looking to get rid of your d750?

Got as far as typing out the description of D750, lens etc last week then deleted it. Had an XT1 before the D750 , not sure if I did the right thing swapping to D750 hey ho. Decided to stick with the 750 for now and make a bit more effort getting out taking pictures and doing a bit of PP. Not sure what will happen when the XT2 comes out though, pretty sure its a gas thing.

Ahh! Me too. The family are anglo-Scots so it's Liverpool and Rangers for us. Decent weekend of football just passed!!
I thought Liverpool and Celtic was the bond? Two old and once staunchly Catholic clubs.
I used to support Rangers till Celtic beat Inter Milan. Then I supported both. But with the latest events it's had to follow what is going on at Ibrox. Even Mike Ashley had his fingers in that pie and look what is happening on Tyneside.

I'm thinking of going back to Fuji as well. Carting my D750 around Japan on my shoulder for 12 hours a day really made me think about whether or not the additional IQ was worth it! That the RX100 and its 1" sensor also produced so many good photos really drove the point home too

What lenses were you using with the D750?

Yeah the D750 is still a bit of a lump compared with the XT1, getting confused now is this the nikon or Fuji thread:)

24-120mm most days, 35mm occasionally.

Also the fact that NIkon JPG engine isn't as good as the Fuji JPGs SOOC, to get the best out of the camera you have to do some work in LR which I don't mind doing for those special shots but when you take 900 photos it gets a bit annoying.

I'm still on the fence though. D750 is such a great camera!

We should start a Fuji to Nikon club.

My history right now is D600 -> X-T1 -> D750 -> ???

We don't conform in this family! :D Ashley got paid off so he's gone now, thank goodness.

I think certain manufacturers and products are boomerang items, if you sell them, you end up buying them back at some point.

The problem with cameras is that we all want everything and that camera doesn't exist so we chop and change, but if we stop changing and just learn to use what we have our photography improves, buts that's not as much fun as gear!!!!

You seem to be suffering a bit. Go and buy yourself a nice new lens and you'll feel a whole lot better!

Spot on, the perfect camera does not exist - they are all a compromise of some sort and as our mood changes a different camera becomes more attractive!

No because that will cost me a lens and a pint, and it's the pint that will hurt!!! :D

(Anyway what could I possibly buy.....that I actually need.....)
What you really need is a Canon fit macro lens. That would fit the extension tubes that I have. I'll give it a test run if you like.

X-E1 -> X-E2 -> X-T1 -> OMD EM5 -> X-E2 -> X-T1 Thats all in the last 2 years. I appreciate it looks like GAS, and to some extent it probably is but the upgrades to the Fuji's were a natural progression. Unfortunately towards the end of last year funds became really tight and I ended up having to sell the X-T1 and replaced it temporarily with the Oly. Ever since then I've been working my way back to the X-T1 and it just arrived this morning :)
