The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Anyone else have trouble getting a decent panorama using the built in mode? For serious stuff I do it manually but occasionally I like to use it. It works great on my x30 but using the same technique in the same place, my x-t10 has more steps than... Well... It has a lot of steps. Also differing exposure stripes too. :(
Nope. Seems to work fine for me.

Haven't tried, but if I do, will let you know. All my panos are stitches, usually with my Nodal Ninja, but sometimes handheld, if need dictates. My top tip for handholding is to use the built-in level, as that helps keep the shots lined up. Maybe that could help when using the sweep function too?

Thanks! Interesting thought about the crop. This is pretty much how I framed in camera, but maybe I'll go back sometime and see if the symmetrical composition works for me. Seems worth a try, at least :)

Hehe, I'm happy to admit I'm far more obsessed with symmetry and geometry than most, so YMMV :)

The built in panorama sweep works well enough for me too. Rarely bother with hand stitching these days (unless I'm using something else!) On the (very) rare occasions when the result is visibly stepped and/or unevenly exposed, I reshoot (I always check on the review screen.)

Yes, every time almost. I don't use it for anything important, but it is handy for facebook pics. I already posted the same question last year.

My issue with it is I find it's 180degrees or nothing ... If you don't go far enough it won't work. So the PP required to crop means I might aswell just spend a bit longer and manually shoot it

Had some better results with everything set to manual. But yeah, certainly seems like the x30 got a better implementation of this, offering 120, 180, and 360 degree shots with solid stitching performance.

The baby Xs do offer the arc options but suffer much more from uneven exposure from slice to slice. The X-T1 is much more even.

Hah, I did wonder what we were supposed to be seeing, very well integrated!

LOL! It does integrate well, you're right. The reason I went for this one in the end was the fact it's the only one produced with a near identical grip texture around the outside. I have the same one on my X30 but the screw version, of course.

My soft release, a red convex 10mm arrived and is fitted. It really does make a difference. I have soft releases on all my X cameras now :) The Lolumina is by far the cheapest, but seems to be decent quality. I've a Gariz on my X Pro1 and a Match technical bug in my X100T.

Ah yes I see it now. Very nice. But not as nice as a red one!

I've used red ones for years, actually and loved them. Had them on my Leica M6 and on my silver X100. Now this is me being particularly anal, I admit, but the orang/red movie button clashes with a standard red button and I can't live with it. I coloured it black on my X30 and will do the same on the X-T1 but on the black bodies I still prefer a slightly more subtle colour on the soft releases. Hence the "gun metal". :D

It's all good fun ain't it?

I think so. I really enjoy customising cameras to my own taste. (I just coloured in that darned dot after writing my last post. A NOBO Liquid Ink Dry Marker pen works well as it's not permanent so you can always clean it back off if you need to return it to stock). Just colouring that dot black has made my evening worthwhile! Hehe. It's been a rough day.

I've got little red jewellery buttons on the back of mine. Principally to make them stand out a bit but nice and blingy as well. Who cares?

All personal tase. Here's mine with the orange dot blacked out. The relief is palpable. For my wife, not so much.. :wideyed: She watched me do this mod with slightly more than marginal disdain..

That took a long time Jim.
It did, I checked the tracking info, it languished in London for about 4 days. Looking a wingstuns knurly me I'm tempted to order another, I think that colour would look well on my GS.

Mine wasn't easy to find, Jim, but finally got it here. Couldn't find one this side of the globe, though could be worth giving lovecases a call.

I just noticed they do the knurled version in red.....soooo want.......must buy another XT1 :D

They do and I really like the red colour they use, too! Was tempted! You'd definitely need to black out the movie button orange dot to use that one, though! :D

Way up in the frozen north. A long way from Sorry!

It's one of the Lancashire Panopticons:-

This one is The Halo:-

High on the hills above Haslingden.

There's another photogenic one - The Singing Ringing Tree, which is steel tubes welded together at different angles and it does make a sound when the wind blows.
Here's a bit of fun I had with an early morning image I took:-

But who says the X-T2 will have a screw in?
Who knows anything about it yet? Does it even exist? Will it ever be seen?

I saw a discussion somewhere that said it would be announced in July. Hmmm!

what do most people use for remote release on XT10,the iOS App? does a cordless remote exist otherwise and what are the recommended corded releases,Fuji's own?
thanks
