The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Has anyone come across this problem. I recently purchased a 27mm from mpb and it seems to have an intermittent fault. Sometimes when you turn the camera on or shoot into a bright scene and press the shutter button nothing happens. No focus box nothing then when you switch it off and on again it's fine.

Sounds like the aperture control is not working on the lens correctly???

One from the weekend. Taking advantage of one of Oxford's new buildings to shoot an old one...

I like this as it is but IMO, it's begging to be flipped horizontally so the sign above the door in the reflection is the right (wrong) way round. Mainly to see how many people spot that a) the scene not as they remember it and b) the reflection's wrong!

So shiney @mickledore

Really like that David, my daughter lives just up the toad from there and every time I go past that building I think I must stop and shoot it some time.
Thanks Graham! And yes it's a very interesting building, full of possibilities, but not easy to photograph IMO. I look forward to your results! I think it'll help when the building site behind has gone...that whole area seems to me to have great blue hour potential.

Yeah. I couldn't think of anything better. Your suggestions?
Well, it depends where you want to put it. If you want to get into National Geographic, you should at least say where the wall is, and include a paragraph of educational context. You could try calling it Wall 2547A, to imply that you've been dedicating many years to being very serious about wall photography :D. Or if you want to get into the Tate Modern, how about something that implies you are being subtly symbolic, like "Valediction" or "Two Realities"? Horses for courses. I'd probably try "Two Windows and an Escher" and see whether anyone gets the reference. :)

Already saw this on Flickr- makes me miss Oxford a great deal- 5 years next month since I left. Will be back one day.

Love the shot. The asymmetry in cropping top and bottom makes my brain itch slightly but it doesn't stop it being a cracker :)

Wow. Yes. That sounds like the camera club competition judge who disqualified my night shot entitled "Lime Street". As the main object was the railway station he said the caption should have been "Liverpool Lime Street Station at night". I jest not, and stopped entering competions.
Whats an Escher?

Went just doing a quick test with the Samyang whilst the wife was shopping and couldn't get the peaking to work. So just set it to infinity then just realised when I've got home it wasn't n manual focus mode doh!!!!

You do know that you can set peaking to show in differing colours, don't you? I have mine set to red. Much easier to see.

Yes it's red high. I haven't used manual lenses for ages as I have an adapter and some old Pentax glass and I've been that used to autofocus lenses!!!
