The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Yes, I always use Footprint straps on mine. This was one I had tucked away as Cluve is no longer able to make them. :(
Clive is making and selling the straps again. Got my new one a few weeks ago.

Love them all but the last one made me want to sharpen a tad?

Can someone link me to a red soft button for my XT1 please.
I can only find the screw in ones which i believe are not suitable.
Thank you

I use a little blob of sugru on mine. Works OK and in over 12 months hasn't fallen off yet :D

Hi all,

As a Nikon D7000 shooter I have recently sold my spare D7000 body and a lens to find an X-pro 1, 18mm f2 and a 35mm f1.4 to use as a walk around camera. I'm super happy with the camera and quality of images however I find the autofocus to be no good for moving subjects like my 3 year old.

I still have my original D7k with a few lenses and I'm thinking it's silly to be invested in 2 different systems. I wonder if an XT-1 would be a suitable replacement for my main camera, I occasionally shoot family portraits in a home studio setup and do the odd wedding here and there so I need this to be as good as my current lineup if not better.

Is the XT-1 up to the job with autofocus speeds to replace a DSLR?

Are there any other things I should know that may not be on a par with my D7000?

Many thanks
Mark.

I'm yet to use a mirrorless camera that has auto focus as good as a good DSLR in terms of using it for sports/action photography. The only one that came close was the Sony A6000, which is a really nicely built camera but not something I could invest in as a system for multiple reasons, mainly due to lenses.

Well what a miserable couple of days (weather-wise), been out with @mickledore (I'll leave him to tell the story of how his wayward umbrella managed to topple both our tripods, each with an X-series camera and lens, fortunately they were caught before they hit the ground!!!)

Grabbed a few, but loads in the delete bin!!

Thank you @Mr Perceptive
I'll leave you to tell the story of how we were half way over Woodhead Pass at 6AM when we should have been on Snake Pass!!!
As to the umbrella...all I can say is well caught, Sir.

Weather on the way home from you was worse than what stopped us, but here it was dry and wind free.

Only done an initial run through of my shots. Surprisingly they all look similar to yours.

16 stopper all you expected?

My excuse, it was early in the morning and I was short of caffeine!!!

16 stopper looks fine, haven't tried it yet, adapter rings haven't turned up, hopefully here on Monday.

i got some new kit:

I was over in San Francisco for work and passed by a camera shop that was closing down. Got the above (Tamron 180mm, 1:1 macro in Nikon mount) at a great price. Looks good on the camera and works well as a portrait lens:

Next job is to try it with some suitable macro subjects.

If you talking applications such as sport, no, but it is more capable after the last firmware upgrade.

Thanks, I can't see that I'll do any sport shots really. Just want to be sure that I won't miss an isle shot or first dance shot due to autofocus speed? Is it noticeable faster than the x-pro 1?

Haven't got a X-Pro1 for comparison, but do have a X-E1 and its considerably quicker than that. Much better for moving targets too since the last firmware upgrade.

Well I've gone and done it; all the canon kit was traded in today for a shiny new 100-400mm. I've got to say that it feels f'ing massive and I'll probably need a battery grip to comfortably use it handheld. I probably won't get out with it tomorrow thanks to yet another kid's birthday party, but pics will follow as soon as I get a chance.

I'm expecting big things on safari later in the year :)

Where did you get it from? Is it out already?
