The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

There's several discussions on the Fuji forum about this problem. No one has sorted it out so you must be right.
Suppose we all work round it in our own ways.
Ok found the answer to my question, I downloaded the manual. You should also be able to view the raw files with Fuji software. This is what the manual says

"RecordingPictures in RAWFormat

To record raw, unprocessed data from the camera image sensor, select a RAW option for image qual- ity in the shooting menu as described below. JPEG copies of RAW images can be created using the j RAW CONVERSION option in the playback menu, or RAW images can be viewed on a computer us- ing the RAW FILE CONVERTER application that is installed with the software on the supplied CD (P 99, 100)."

OK I'll have a look at that. I downloaded the Fuji processing software direct so maybe there is something on the disc that I gave missed.
Back into the loft!

Well my disc doesn't have anything different from what I could download, which is
SILKYPIX RAW FILE CONVERTER EX
That will allow me to look at, and do minor processing with, the RAW files, but it somehow changes their format. Before I could open them in PS but now I can't. I have to open them in the Fuji sotware then save as TIFF then use in PS. Not doing that.
Interestingly if I connect my camera via USB to PC I can see thumbnails, but can't open then, so in some way Windows can read them but not in Explorer.
It does look as if this is a problem directly attributable to Fuji and their way of handling files.

Flashing!!! ;) :P

That's a lovely shot G, nice inquisitive expression and good to leave the warm colour balance on this one.(y)

George.

Many thanks George, it is one of the few occasions where I decided the warm look was actually appropriate :)

Just before Christmas I bought an Xt1 with 18-135 lens from Amazon. When it arrived the strap was fitted, the battery was in the camera and the rear screen was full of smears. Quite surprised that Amazon would do that. Anyone else bought new from Amazon and been sent used/returned cameras?

Weird, that would normally be sold through Amazon Warehouse I would have thought.

It was supposed to be a new item sold by Amazon. I've spent quite a few quid with Amazon over the years and been very happy until this stunt.

Give it a good check over. There must be someone on this thread from Lunnun so ask for help from them. If it seems in order then ask for a substantial discount. Guys do buy cameras and get rid of them inside a couple of weeks, as we've seen on here recently!

Thanks but its already on its way back. If whoever had bought it originally had made some effort to package it properly I may have considered negotiating with Amazon for a reduction in price but everything was rattling about in the box and that didn't inspire confidence. I'll be much happier with a new one purchased elsewhere :)

:D:D:D

And to you and yours, Frank. We shall be doing our usual - sleep through it while hopefully comforting the cat (who doesn't care much for fireworks.)

Thanks Nod. Can't remember the last time we were up at midnight. Boring, that's us.

Well as of yesterday I'm now an X-T1 owner, thus my journey with this camera begins.

Welcome aboard Martin, this is a real good section to hang around in.(y)

George.
