The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Lowest UK price according to Camera Price Buster was on Amazon at £699 back in September, which was probably exclusive of any cashback deals etc. I guess the refurbs maybe slightly cheaper whenever Fuji UK have them in.

Oh b****r I hate hot UK deals 30% off Amazon warehouse deals on xt1s. I've been looking at XT1s and was looking at selling my XT10 and upgrading in the future but not yet. I'm now the owner of an XT1 graphite. Classed as used very good but apparently no marks but packaging damaged. Seems ok price for £598.77 and have 30 day return if not happy.

I noticed you could get a pretty much brand new 23mm on there earlier just missing the manual for £400

In fairness to Twist, I've just seen for myself on ebay that prices of used X-T1s have tumbled over the last month (people getting shot to free up Christmas money, or the effect of Fuji's cashback, who knows).

Prices vary between £480-560, with £520 becoming more common now. Weird (ish) when there's no new model yet.

I do fancy a graphite model for £600 tho!

Dooooo ittttt :D

The assumption is current prices as he asked now, not when "you" are selling yours. You can value yours at whatever price you feel but it doesn't make it worth that in the CURRENT market.

440-500 and 130-150 imo

By CURRENT prices? You said 440-500 originally, then you went on to chose a classified selling quite significantly above that at £530 as your recent sale example (Chris) where it was clear he was in a hurry to sell his gear due to covering a theft. In that case, I just don't get your original valuation that was so far down on what myself and 1 other put forward? You also mention ebay fees for some reason in your earlier post? Surely that would only be of any relevance if the original poster was selling and asking what he'd GET for his sale? He's wanting to buy so eBay fees did not need to be part of your reckoning?

To be fair, if you buy of eBay I'd say you're taking a bigger risk than buying from here the majority of the time so that would be something the buyer needs to weigh up :)

I don't plan to buy from ebay, would rather do a deal on here or with a shop.

Have seen one offer which was a mint graded XT1 plus 18-55 lens boxed with all accessories and warranty to for £799.

At the moment I am just weighing up prices and deals before i potentially pull the trigger.

And I explained why I said my valuation... UK stock is worth more. 30 (significantly lol) outside of my valuation because it was practically brand new UK stock average it out with 1yr old cameras, grey stock etc and I'm pretty much on the money as already pointed out. 600 is MILES out. Often you can make offers outside of eBay sales for cash on collection and avoid fees. If you don't like the fact that your gear depreciates then don't buy it but don't advise others when you over value your own kit that they should overpay.

Ebay a bigger risk? You have PayPal, here you have someone's word IF they are a good trader.

Just checked eBay for you anyway on the lens as I'm a little dubious of you getting the 18-55mm for between £130-150. Cheapest in the last 2 months to sell was for £174 inc. Postage. The vast majority in that period sold for £200 or more. I've seen them between £180-£200 on here and seems eBay is similar.

Ok, I guess all I can do is wish the original poster good luck in buying his kit for the prices you mention and I'm sure he'll take all of our advice on board.

That's not a bad price really with a warranty. £600 and £200. You could buy cheaper separately as has been mentioned but you need to decide if you want piece of mind of warranty. You could buy older kit for cheaper but without any comeback should it go wrong.

174 less 13% = ?

They were 200 from DR brand new a little while ago.

Did you check how far you were out with xt1 prices?

They were £200 WHITE BOX from Digital Rev because I bought one...

What is this 13% you keep talking about on eBay? The OP is wanting to buy one not sell one! If that is what they are being sold for, that is what the OP has to pay, he doesn't get 13% discount unless I'm missing something monumental here?

And? It's a new lens, who cares if it's white box! You bought one ffs! Did you pay the top end of used? NO.

Read the posts, it's called cash on collection and negotiation. Do I need to spell it out for you AGAIN.

A little while ago... we're talking current prices I thought?

White box is £219, Brand New is £279 on Digital Rev now...

Anyway, original poster has thanked us for our help although I think he's probably 3 steps further back by now. Good night.

That was my mind set - fair enough I could by it and 7 months down the line it breaks and I have no come back but equally I could fork out slightly less with no warranty and it breaks on day two.

Swings and roundabouts really and £800 was always a figure routing about at the back of my mind.

I'm sure Dr will give him a 10 quid voucher like they do everyone else. White box is new. It's a split kit.

Nighty night

If you had a budget in mind and feel more comfortable with a warranty then that's the way to go. It's like buying insurance. You may or may not need it. Only you know that. Good luck with it all.

And have everything we have over here without paying any tax? Would be nice. I dont care if anyone buys grey as the savings are there to be made on the odd purchase and yes we do pay a lot of tax but we do get something in return, its just the comment that followed. I think this country has quite a lot to offer in comparison to a lot of others.
This country is a joke run by an incompetent corrupt government - but this is not the place to discuss it.

Do many people use the extended eyecup on their X-T1? I bought one when they first came out and thought it was great. I since sold the camera ( a good few months ago) but bought another new one a couple of weeks ago.
I fitted my extended eyecup to it and noticed I couldn't really see the whole EVF, so reverted back to the original.
So, either my eyes have changed or the camera is somehow different. I didn't notice this " vignetting" with my old X-T1!

Just picked up the 56mm as an early xmas present, have been shooting with the X-T10/35mm combo for the last week and realised how much I missed the Fuji feel from my old X100. Hoping the X-T10 with 35/56mm lenses will be a great companion for my Leica Q :)

Yes, and I wouldn't be without it. I'm a spectacle wearer and I can now see the whole screen, which was difficult with the standard cup. It's all down to how you hold your head!

I've tried holding my head at different angles, no different. Only thing I can think of is that my eyes are sinking back into my head!
I've tried with my reading specs on and can't see any edges of the evf.

Amazon Marketplace currently have 30% discount on their used or returned products...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-Co...&s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1450535780&sr=1-45

XT1 + 18-55 works out at around £668 plus you still get Amazon's 30 day return policy if anything is wrong with it. Might be an alternative worth looking at as I believe Amazon will still do refund in the 1st year if anything goes wrong.

Your doing it wrong, you have to stand upside down, hold the camera at an 45% angle, leave both eyes open while singing God save the Queen, then it should work

Strewth mate. That was quick. Thought you weren't processing anything till tomorrow?

I've only been in 10 minutes. You'll have to wait a bit before you see any of mine.

Thanks for today and doing the driving. I owe you one.

I don't like you anymore.

Must agree about the photo policy. All we had to do was ask and we were given full rein to go inside the barrier ropes and use tripods as and when we wished.

Very pleasant and helpful staff.

A very good place to visit.

Whats happened to the 27mm f2.8 lens price?
I bought one about 3 weeks ago from currys and paid £188 its now £300 and its a similar price from other suppliers

Camera Centre still have it at £185. Originally it listed at £369, I expect that Fuji just had a dealer promotion going on.

You can pay £499 for one and get an X-Pro 1, 18mm and case thrown in as well!!

You are probably correct, just glad I bought when I did
