The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I decided to have a look at the handbook for my Canon flash units as they will be the main ones I use with the Fuji. It doesn't give a K number at all. It merely says that colour temperature information will be relayed to the camera when the shot is taken. Reading between the lines Canon flash on Canon body doesn't need WB adjusting.
Presumably this same principle works with Fuji systems but as I'm using Fuji body and Canon flash the assumption has to be that they won't talk to each other. I've set K to 5600 and will tweak in RAW as needed.

There will be a small change to the colour temperature output at different power outputs, though in reality the variation between say 1/16 power and full power is likely to be only 200-300K. Adjust the WB in post processing to suit is the way forward.

Next question!
Today I took some shots using my mobile phone to control the camera. When I look at them both a RAW and a fine JPEG have been taken. I've trawled through the Fuji site and there is no mention of how to change this to just RAW.
The option just appears and there is no obvious way on my phone or in the camera menu to change this.
Anyone else come across this and if so how do I change those settings?

Sorted it.
It's automatic and cannot be changed. Whenever you use your phone to control the camera you are given two images. You get a RAW and a JPEG. Fuji assume that if you are using your phone then you will want to upload a camera shot to the phone to put on Twitbook. Phones can only handle JPEG'S so you are given one and there's no way round it.
Quality is the lowest so as not to overfill your card and because no one really look at Twitbook pics after a couple of hours.

This may have been covered in the previous 250 pages, but...

Is anyone using the SD-to-Lightning adapter to view XT1 RAF files on an ipad? I bought one ages ago but never got it to work. Wondering if it's incompatible, or i need a specific app or just knackered.

Message for Expresso Junkie.
I see you are looking for a remote trigger for the Fuji.
I don't have one to sell so will get shouted at for posting in that thread, but I'm using Yongnuo RF 603. Make sure you get the Mk2 version and the Canon version with the 2.5mm jack lead. Works perfectly on my X-T1.

Hi, I've watched a few YouTube clips, it looks good. Do you have the C1 or C3?

The C3 is the square connector for the top end Canon models - 5D etc. You don't want this. You want the C1 which has a cable with 2.5mm jack plugs on each end.
For some reason the Nikon version doesn't seem to work but don't ask me why!

I've got a cheap Canon corded release, a JJC timer release and also have the 603's but usually use my phone for remote before any of them.

Hello again. You've found us!
Don't know if anyone uses these. If they do you'll soon get to hear about it!

8 lenses? Watch out. Mr Perceptive of this parish has the sole rights to owning all the lenses that fit on a fooj. He'll come gunning for you!

Haha, well..I am a bit of a lens whore (14 Canon lenses and 5 bodies) Already planning on getting rid of my 7dii and one of my 1dx bodies and will use those funds for more Fuji kit.

Ive ordered these...pretty much covering my fav Canon lenses..I probably dont need them but hey, I like pretty things. If I really like it I will get a second body or even another kit..you get a free grip at the moment too which is nice.

16-55 F2.8
56mm f1.2
50-140mm f2.8 with a 1.4 teleconverter
10-24mm f4
90mm f2
23mm f1.4
14mm f2.8
35mm f1.4

A second body? I'm holding on to my cash till the X-T2 comes along. This year, next year, sometime, maybe!

question...are the 280mb/s SD cards really worth it? or just stick with the 90mb/s cards?

Just noticed a couple of omissions from your list.

There's the 60mm macro and 8mm Samyang fisheye. Get spending:LOL:

I dont really do Macro apart from ring shots (ooh er) and I will stick to using the Canon's for weddings for now.

Excellent, you can always rely on Fuji to squeeze ever bit of performance out of ther cameras, puts the big two to shame.

Is there an amended manual? Not a silly question - I'm being serious!

There was for v4.0, so when this is officially announced I'm hoping they do the same again

Are you sure the X-T1 can write that fast? If not then there wouldn't be any difference at all. Well, the pics wil d/l to the computer quicker i guess.

Pretty sure it's the first camera that can do that speed.
