Last time I went, I took an X-E1, 16-50mm, 18/2 and 35/1.4. Used the zoom and 35 the most.

I'd go for the pink one :eek:
Just kidding, the out of focus no.2 shot works better for me.
 
It's not out of focus! It a long exposure due to the low light conditions. The treads on the escalator just kept moving.

Not really, its one if the things I struggled with initially. The closest I could get, is by switching to M focus mode. This then let's you use the AF-L back button to continuous AF and you hit the shutter button to AE and take the shot. There is a pause when trying to take the shot though, and its just not as fluid as when you use a DSLR. You have to switch the Instant AF setting to AF-C in the autofocus menu to get this to work.

So just switching to M focus gets you the functionality, its just not exactly the same as a DSLR. It is much improved now though, at the start when you took the shot with the shutter button it would cancel the AF-C! At least it doesn't do that now.

Similar to myself then. I think just taking one camera will make me take more pics, and maybe using the shotgun approach get more keepers ! I've an old slightly beat up Canon eos m I'm going to stick in my bag with the 22mm attached for the beach etc so I'll not sweat about sand or water getting near it, assuming it will be beach weather :eek:

Excuse my fickness but wtf is an Uncle Bob camera ? Should I be worried coz I don't have one and everybody else does and all the TP'ers will laugh at me coz I's different ?
 
Ok ignore my last message, mr Google is my friend. I'm now up to speed on all things Bobby. Just one thing though, I thought Minnt had gone to over to the N side ? Everyone knows proper wedding photographers shoot Canon, hence making Minnt Bobishly oriented ?

Snagged myself an XT-10 and 35mm f1.4, planning to use it as a compliment to my Leica Q to give me a (hopefully) perfect combo for 28mm & ~50mm shooting :)
 
I had the same dillema,i went for the xt-1 kit with the 18/135, on balance it seemed the better camera
 
Depends what you are going to use it for.

XT1 has more features and possibilities. If you think you might progress your photography it might be an idea to go for that.

I've had an XT1 and sold it. I wanted another, but after looking at the XT10 and realising it has virtually all the features of the XT1 at half the price, it was an easy decision. I never liked the iso dial on the XT1, and while the XT1 viewfinder is stunning, you soon forget it with an extra wedge of cash in your pocket.

I'd go for the XT1 otherwise if you get the XT10 you'll not be content until you get an XT1 then you'll sell the XT10, lose money and be out of pocket. Hold on, thats the kinda sh!t I usually do :rolleyes:

Nice one, i too got the graphite one. It's a great camera, so much so I sold my Canon 5D3 and all my L glass. I have the 35mm, the 10-24mm, 18-135 and 55-200 all XF,plus an X-pro 1 and X100T. I've really fallen for the X series cameras. Enjoy the system and the extra shininess :)
 
Oh yeah and the 18-55mm, but to be honest I don't use it much the 10-24mm and 18-135mm kind of made it redundant.

I know the feeling, it always goes like that with me. But, I bought the XT10 and I am quite happy with it, it goes well with my other X cameras. Who needs another XT1 anyway.........:whistle:

Thanks Jim! If I get on well with the system I will probably get the 10-24 next, then maybe the 120mm macro which is coming next year I believe :)
 
I have been considering the XT1 for ages and have finally gone for it (and 18-55 lens)..after lots of research, reading all 238 pages of threads here and having questions I've posted here answered :) Massive step as I am very much a beginner and have only used a little compact camera.....I am soooo excited and can fully understand folk that have posted a picture of the XT1 box when they have purchased one!!
Any advice on a case and strap? And also when I purchased it I was asked if I wanted to take out insurance and I said no.....not sure now...again any advice on that? Thanks

First one for me but both work well in different ways !
