this is the same for me, i have the 23 and will be looking at the 56 next... cant wait till i get hold of one.
 
There is a stretch of some 7 miles of derelict waterfront to the north of Liverpool. Fences galore, goons in high viz vests with identity badges banning everything and some interesting architecture rotting away.

This is a six sided clock built in 1848. Six sides and way out in the River Mersey mean that anyone working on the docks knew what time it was. Now a listed building and when the docks get their long awaited revamp then this will be restored to it's former working glory. Well known to all scousers as "The Docker's Clock", but not many have beeen out to it.

How did I get there? Not telling!

I picked up (another) XT1 a couple of weeks ago as I've been trying to downsize following the sale of my D750 and lenses and I have to say I am enjoying not lugging lenses/bodies. The XT1 with the large hand grip feels great and its nice being able to carry the camera, 35mm f1.4 and 10-24mm in the same space that I'd have just got the D750 and the 35mm in. The only downside is IQ, at 16mp its noticeably different to the D750 although I feel I notice that more in losing crop-ability in post processing than anything else, I'm also struggling to be 100% happy with processing the RAW files and haven't yet found which software gives me the best results.

All in all I'm quite happy with it for now but I do feel Fuji need to get the new 24mp sensor out sooner rather than later in an XT2 or X-Pro 2 although I suspect if a good price used A7ii turned up I'd probably give it a go as well to be honest.
That said like I remember with the X-Pro 1 way back in 2012 and the X100 before that, the Fuji's are nice to use and I don't have to spend time digging through menus in the most part.

I had a sobering experience recently... a family member went to print a picture at ASDA and the machine kept telling us that the quality wasn't acceptable for the desired print size but we printed it anyway and guess what... despite being taken with a camera phone and being too small to give the machines expected quality at the size we wanted the print looks really good and is now mounted in a frame and proudly displayed.

The moral of this little story is that I think us geeks worry too much. Must admit that I look at my Sony files and I think they're gorgeous but I'm going to hold on to the memory of getting that camera phone print from ASDA and try not to obsess too much.

Your spot on, I know that even at 16mp there's not a problem (hell the A7s is only 12mp!) I've got some great shots I took with a D7000 4 years ago that look amazing printed, as I said its more in the cropping that I miss the extra MP, it would be nice to have that little extra headroom where needed!
 
Some from today in the Peak District I normally shoot JPEG only but shot raw and JPEG. Good job I did as my laptop doesn't have enough memory and can't process the files new laptop I think is needed for Christmas along with an adobe subscription!! All pictures taken with Fuji xt10 and 16-50 and processed in Snapseed on the iPad.

I see that the preferred choice of 3rd party battery is Ex-Pro, but I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for an in-car charger?

Birthday yesterday. 35mm as a pressie. Very happy. Weekend away in the middle of the Abu Dhabi desert and it was so bright I could hardly go near f1.4 until I remembered the electronic shutter worked faster than mechanical...

And it only cost 260 quid new! Was tempted by the 56mm (and really impressed when I tried it) but just not sure it'd get used much at the mo. Maybe next time there's a sale... :D
 
Hi all, I LOVE the look of both the X-T10 and the X-T1. I'm looking at upgrading from the Sony NEX 5T.

Just wondering ... when you were choosing between the two (if you did) what option swung you and did you make the right decision?

I really like the idea of water sealing on the X-T1.
I think id miss the ISO dial on the XT10 but i've heard you can assign ISO change to another button/dial?
Also as far as i'm aware, neither have a touch screen?

Any commetns much appreciated
 
No touch screen, which is a positive in my opinion. Hadn't chosen between the two as already had the XT1 and some of the benefits are, weather sealing, HUGE EVF, it looks more awesome than the XT10, ISO dial (although I use auto ISO so irrelevant) and some other stuff...
 
Well I lasted 3 weeks 4 days without my 23mm. Another one arrived this morning. And then a few hours later a 90mm turned up :woot::woot::woot:

Cost me my X100T to get the 23mm, let's see how long I can survive without an X100 in my life o_O

lol how many bodies!? Probably a good idea to get rid of the X100s :p

It was the X100T that I traded but will probably pick up an X100 or X100S for the leaf shutter combined with flash. Need a body to put behind the TCL-X100 :D

I've been procrastinating over the purchase of an X-T1 for ages. I already have an investment in a Canon 7d and lenses. I really don't need another system! .. I really don't! No, I don't! Sincerely, I don't need another system! ... But so far I've managed to resist scratching that itch... except for getting an X100s.
Nope, I'm gonna resist. I am. I just know that I've got tons of willpower to resist. I am a strong person. The urge won't prevail. No way....... :(
 
I'm definitely going to sell the 5D3 now that I seem to be using the X-T1 most of the time. I mean I'm definitely going to do it. Yes I will. Definitely. Sometime soon. It's definitely going. Soon. Honest.

To be honest, I'm resisting the move because I shoot a lot of sports and macro. What I've seen so far from my X-T1 using mate, the Fuji is a generation away from matching my canon/100mm macro/70-200mm set ups.
Besides that, I've just bought a Tokina 10-16 mk2 for night time stuff. The Fuji 10-24 is a load of cash. It wouldn't make sense changing at this stage. .. Or so I keep telling myself! Nope, not worth changing. I really want to, but just not worth it. No way. Not to get into another system. Doesn't make sense.... :facepalm:

It's the thought of how the Fuji copes with that sort of stuff that is holding me back. I know there are guys on here who swear that they can do it all. Maybe they are better than I am!
 
Certainly no reason not to use Fuji's for macro, but if sports is your thing there are better tools for the job. Yes they can do it, but why make things harder for yourself?
