The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Iain (Icee),

Changing from the X-Pro1 to the X-T1, have you noticed many advantages can you tell me please...? For the better...? Just curious.

Thanks;
Pete
I don't see much difference in the IQ but the handling is much better the EVF is better the latest firmware update has made a difference, so the focusing is a lot better than the XP1.
To me it's been a good upgrade.

I've just upgraded from a x-pro1 to a x-t1 and was wondering if it's worth changing my 50-230 for a 55-200. Would there be a noticeable increase in IQ?
The IQ on the 50-230 is, in my opinion, as good as the 55-200 for real people. The obvious difference is the max aperture. But for me the weight difference makes the 50-230 a no-brainer, especially as I rarely go over 55mm. And I have the 56mm for that.

As Iain said, in terms of IQ, you'll be hard pushed to spot any differences in real world situations. Possibly in high ISO shots but even hen it's fairly marginal. It's in the handling department that the X-T's a clear winner, especially if you come from an SLR background and even more so if you are (like me!) a bit of a dinosaur and have used older, fully manual SLRs in the dim and distant past! AF is much better too, even if you're not yet upgraded to the latest firmware (must do that soon!)

Well i took out my XT-1 yesterday for a day in London, forgot to check the weather  :$,but had to go anyway,i got soaked i dont no how many times, but my XT-1 16-55mm F2.8 with battery grip held up well, didnt get completely soaked, but got a fair bit of weather chucked at it.:D

Will have to check the photos later, was taking street shots :)

It's meant to be well weather proof. I've found most of the semi pro and pro cameras take some rain. The only one I had problems with was a 7Dmki which lost both top and back screens, they came back on after it had been in the dry for about an hour.

Their were a couple of sots i missed out on,the only way i could have got them was for the camera to take the full force of the rain, and a lot of gear to take the risk on

Is there much difference in size? I wouldn't mind a smaller walkabout tele for just in case moments.

Any of you guys cleaned your sensor yet? If so what did you use? Got a stubborn mark that shows after f11.

More excellent low light - actually near zero light - focus performance, this time from the 60mm. Come a long way from when I was trying to shoot road rally cars in the same light!

Just done my new X-T1, bought an Eyelead gel stick (SCK1) and it has done the job :)

It's thinner and a wee bit shorter. Definitely more portable.

double post, sorry.

Really like the B&W shot @manualfocus-g , the PP work on this shot really works well.(y)

George.

Shot on the Fuji XT1 and 35mm. Exif: 2.8, ISO 200, 1/280s.
