The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I couldn't get on with the 23. Nothing to do with the quality of the lens, just the focal length doesn't work for me. No point having a lens I don't use even if it is sharp/well built/fast to focus.

I think the few millimetres matter at the wide end so the 12-14-18 all serve purposes.

On the XT-10 if the shutter dial is set to (T) so that the shutter speed can be controlled with the front dial, can you assign the back dial to control the ISO?

I like the 23mm a lens that's suits me,couldn't get on with the 18mm :)

Chris, has all the Sony stuff gone then?

Nearly, going to stick the a77II and 70-400 up on here over the weekend then I'm clear. The Sigma 50mm 1.4 went back to Ffordes as it was faulty (AF didn't work, had to use it manually at Goodwood)

Hi All
Ive been lurking around, loving the xt1 pics, ive have been waiting for the xt1 to drop in price before I get one and with the x-t10 being released im going to get one!
Can you guys just check im doing the right thing....!
im thinking of getting the x-t10 kit from either jessops or wex, the £599 with the 16-50mm lens
and then a wide lens.
i mainly want it for family pics (16-50 lens) and i also take a lot of street art photos (this is what i want the wide for) prime would be nice?
I can use lightroom and ps so would mainly shoot in raw.

can anyone advise me on the above??

thankyou in advance!

Why did the A7 go Chris?

@LLcoolDave seeing as the kit lens already has a nice wide end, perhaps consider seeing how you get on as it may be all you need? I'd perhaps look at the Samyang 12mm if you're ok with MF?

Why did the A7 go Chris?

Because I'm an idiot who doesn't know what he wants...?! Output was absolutely stunning but it was a pita to use, really missed auto ISO, silent shutter and direct access to AF points, and the menus were comical. They're definitely onto something though, if the a7RII wasn't so expensive I would probably have held out for one as it fixes pretty much all the important issues.

Brilliant. :D

Join the club.

Sports day tomorrow with the X-T1 and 50-140, looking forward to seeing what the new firmware can provide.

Red hot sunshine expected... Good job i went lightweight with a mirrorless setup. Oh wait, i forgot, the 50-140 is enormous. :D

It's one I've been keeping an eye on for a while now. Will wait and see how prices settle when they are available. Might be time to upgrade the Minolta 50mm macro.

Anybody used the 50-140 on the xt10. Trialled the lens on my xe1 and I thought it balanced ok.

The lens performance is superb so I really want one. Maybe need a grip on an Xt10? Has anyone seen any non Fuji ones yet?

Simon read a couple pages back. I went for the non Fuji grip (Meike) and it proved to be poor quality and didn't even hold in the battery. Ive now shelled out the extra for the Fuji one

it's a bit early for 3rd party grips yet I think. Expect to see chinese arca swiss l-plate grips soon probably priced around £30-35 to start with and then dropping to around £20.

At least that's the pattern they usually follow.

would imagine might be same scenario though

The X-T10 is not designed to be used with battery grips, so it will just be a grip.

Thanks Colin. I suppose its all down to what everyone likes when you add filters or effects. The third one has a tint on it from fotofx labs and the last one has a grunge filter. Typically as soon as I got out it clouded over and by time I was getting back to car it was spotting rain...so much for great weather lol

Selling the 23 is madness its one of if not the best Fuji. Just save for the 35 used, should get one for 225 quidish

I agree. The 23mm is a beauty. Wish I could justify it in my line up at the minute (16/35/56 + X100T)

Agree with all what's been said about the 35mm. Still a bit rickety but fast as lightening compared to before.

Also in agreement, don't understand how anyone could part with it. Madness, utter madness!

only saying this having looked at Davids sale thread and his agreement to trade with Jim :exit:

Like everything else, done the right way HDR can create amazing results. Done badly however....

I have,the balance isn't to bad at all,better than on the XE-1 :)

I can recall using a website in the past that compared the different fuji lenses by showing a shot across the Thames (IIRC), you could choose lens, aperture, Focal length etc and compare full size images. I can't find it now, anyone know?
