The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Surely if its "out" tomorrow then its orderable tomorrow from the likes of amazon etc?

Ok... those having seen my previous posts will spot I'm on a kit binge!!
Now I'm looking at the Fuji 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 WR LM R OIS Fujinon Lens.

Those with one of these, is it as good as the reports state? Is there a better alternative? and is it worth the money?
I'm looking at this as a general purpose lens, I have the 18mm and 35mm which seem to be producing some fairly reasonable images so far

Not got the 35 but do have the18, 18-55 & 18-135. Since weight is at a premium on the flights we usually take, I bring the 18-135 rather than the shorter, faster 18-55. No shortage of light in sober hours here so the relative slowness isn't a problem. TBH, even at home the 18-135 is the first choice unless it's really poor light.

Could have done with the longer lens that keeps being delayed. Watched a buzzard making its maiden flight and although I
Caught it, 200 wasn't really long enough for the job. Will do as a holiday snap but unlikely to excite the bird section!

Some guy on a Fuji Facebook page has just provided a 5 minute download link the new V4 firmware.... Facebook group's in meltdown as few people got it.

I'm tempted to try but have a job on Saturday and too worried about it not working as it should... Shame it's sitting on my laptop though, maybe Sunday I'll give it a whirl :D

Lol. I did and it works perfectly, if that's any reassurance!

b****r missed that :(

Yep, all gone! Hardly surprised though...Good job I got there in time :D

Haven't had time to play with it but the focussing looks like it's going to be a big improvement.

"Multi" looks like it's going to be great.

Only thing I haven't worked out how to do is the tracking. But that's because I normally have the camera in manual and back button focus. In order to track you need to shift over to continuous mode.

I'll have a proper play tomorrow!

Anybody have the 10-24 that can comment on the difference to the 23 at that length? Looking to buy another couple of lenses, and thinking 10-24 and 56 to go with my 18-135, 35 and 23, may sell the 23 if the 10-24 can do it's job....

I saw a review earlier on which compared them. And whilst the crop from the 10-24 looked vetter, the corners looked worse.

I think it was on the fuji vs fuji website.

I own the 10-24. Great lens but corners are not as sharp as centre

I have 23mm covered on three fronts - the 18-55, 10-24, and X100S. So I sold mine and with the money booked myself on a course to try to improve my techniques rather than my pixel-peeping.

I love my 23mm lens. I think it's the quickest and sharpest of the lenses I own including the 56mm
