The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Yep, i got mine from amazon. It's definately the official bag. It's not too heavy, no. It's not much kop for a X-T1 and 50-140 though. :D It will be good for 2 bodies with primes attached though.

I should have thought on before buying the ONA Bowery in cognac leather. It's a thing of beauty, but f**k me does it weigh some....

Picked up Domke f6 in Mifsuds today. Nice and light, full tin of wax with it too. Nice bag for £20.

I had a similar dilemma, I wanted a bag that had both carry handles and a shoulder strap, with plenty of space for lenses, 2 x Fuji body (on grips), a further IR body, filters etc, and I wanted to be able to organise it so that I didn't have to keep removing things to get at other items!!! I ended up with a Billingham 335, as I thought that the Hadley Pro's were either not big enough or the wrong shape. Its a little large but a lovely bag. (and I can use it for my 6D when I decide to let that out the house!!!). From my point of view the Carry Handles are essential if the kit mounts up.

I've just bought a Hadley Digital from the classified to complement it, for when I want to take out less kit.

Luckily I bought a Lulu Guinness Handbag for my partner for her birthday in Jan, otherwise she would be getting bag withdrawal symptoms!!!

In fact my girlfriend always complains about shallow DoF, although I just can't stop myself :p
Your in the wrong forum fella, this is for photographers ;)
I'm going with my 4 month old son. So space is at a premium :D

I'd leave him at home and take the extra lenses :p

Technically, I'm now unemployed. So if anyones getting left at home....:nailbiting:

Were the pics of the queens birthday party not up to scrap so they sacked you?

:D

No, against my better judgement I quit. I was planning on taking a year out and spending some quality time with the littlen, but I've been asked to do some freelance event photography. So looks like I'll have the best of both worlds (for a year ;))

Great that you're in a position to do that mate. Hope it all works out for you!

Luckily, Mrs Exiles kind employers give us an apartment to live in for free and pay all the bills. All I need is a little beer money ;)

Not jealous at all [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

The water was clear but ridiculously cold!

I seemed to not use anything but the 12mm when I was in Cornwall, despite taking the 35 and 56mm.

The x100T and splurge on the TCL and WCL for it. Brilliant travel package (I did trips with the original x100 and converters and was happy with the outcome)
+1 on this, I took my X100t with WCL on holiday in May along with my Xpro1, I used the X100T 90% of the time, problem was I kept forgetting to set the camera for conversion lens, it really is a PITA.

Spot on. This really is a tiny kit perfect for a trip where you want to take photos (rather than a trip with the express purpose of taking photos) but remembering to rest for the conversion lenses seems beyond my tiny brain

Ok... those having seen my previous posts will spot I'm on a kit binge!!
Now I'm looking at the Fuji 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 WR LM R OIS Fujinon Lens.

Those with one of these, is it as good as the reports state? Is there a better alternative? and is it worth the money?
I'm looking at this as a general purpose lens, I have the 18mm and 35mm which seem to be producing some fairly reasonable images so far
Nothing of note yet as I am only messing with it around the house.
I hadn't intended to get a telephoto lens thinking I'd jump back to the canon for that, but given this kit is so small, I think I can add this and
possibly the 56mm and still be nowhere near the weight or bulk of the canon kit.

Your thoughts (and advice) are welcome, I am new to the Fuji platform so still getting to grips with the best lenses for the body.

The body!!! I love the body, it is so intuitive and easy to use but I digress, tell me all about the lens.

Nige

If you already have the 18 and the 35, I would get the 55-200 instead of the 18-135?

Ok, a good option be we are getting bigger, how about the FUJINON XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS lens?
I dont need a massive range, I still have the canon 100-400mm for that.
I just want a good quality GP lens. the 55mm will give me I think the equivalent of 87mm which will be enough for the
kind of photography I want with this camera.
I'm looking at taking photos whilst i'm out as opposed to going out to take photos. (not my quote but a good one)

The 18-55 is a good lens, if not startlingly fast (aperture-wise). Nice and light, too. Not weather resistant if that's important to you.

I have the 18-135mm and the 18-55mm both of which I took on holiday with my Xpro 1, the 18-135mm never left the apartment. As I said in last post the X100T was with me most of the time, on the occasions I used the XP1 the 18-55mm was on it. The 18-135mm is a nice lens, but it is a bit big, especially when zoomed out, kinda negates the point of mirrorless, especially on a holiday IMO

So whos getting an xt10 tomorrow? Can you post up your findings? Spefically af with the new firmware.

I'll own one hopefully tomorrow but won't see it until week on Monday does that count?

Ringing up a few places we wont be seeing them tomorrow, maybe up to a week before their get their stocks in :(

Well that makes me feel bit better then. Spoke to the chap in Mifsuds yesterday and he hasn't seen anyone from fuji in 2 years so couldn't really comment on when they would have them.
