So everything at 0 then. Cheers.
Also, i know it probably says in your blog, but are these with OIS off? I don't believe the 50-140 has stabilisation like CaNikon does it where you can set it to mode 1 or 2 etc.
Ta.
Yep OIS off, it doesn't have the Mode 2 (Vertical Only) panning mode so it's useless for motorsport. Aside from switching that off pretty much every setting is bog standard out of the box, it's just worth having focus set to release priority, as there is no way on earth it thinks it's actually locked focus.
Just notice u were in another car moving :banghead:
I was stood still behind the fence, as the shutter speed is 1/10th and a car moves pretty far in that time, you have to pan the camera so you're essentially keeping the car in the exact same place in the frame for the whole capture. Obviously the background is static, so that goes blurry as hell but if you get it just right, the car is nice and sharp.
It's staggeringly difficult when you think about what's actually required, the car must be kept in precisely the same spot in the frame both horizontally and vertically for 1/10th of a second, whilst it's moving itself at maybe 100mph.
If you up the shutter speed to say, 1/250, it's much easier as the capture time is so much faster, so relatively speaking you only have to keep the car in the same spot in the frame very briefly. The trade off is that it doesn't show so much movement in the background or the wheels.

Congratulations David, and my very best wishes to your wife and family.
