Trouble is free grip if from UK
Seller will see what Panamoz do

Panamoz for the X-T1 and Digital Rev for the 23. Both superb.

Free grip would be nice, but there is a grip in the classifieds atm for £125... There is also a 3rd party grip available for £60.

Xt1 from digitalrev is less than panamoz. Xt1 with 18-135 + grip from DR is still cheaper than the free grip way.
 
How much as Panamoz match?
 
I paid via BT with Panamoz and got it for £703 but they have recently changed their BT discounts from 5% to 3% which makes it 712. DR have them for £699.

Fuji Refurb sell them for £699 and the discount code PAYPAL12 will get you an extra 10% off... But they're out of stock so it depends if you can wait for one to come in or not... Not sure if you're after the kit lens aswell or not though. Panamoz are £935 with 18-55 whereas DR are £989.
 
Which kit lens that. I can wait so may see refurb.

The 18-135 is more of a walk around lens and is weather sealed. It's bigger and it's more expensive. The 16-55 f2.8 is bigger still, more expensive and has no OIS. It is weather resistant though and of 'pro' quality... Whatever that means!
 
Was thinking 18-135 but if it much bigger I may go 18-55.

IMO it's a little unfair to call the Fuji "kit" lenses by the same name as other kit lenses - they're far better than that (other than the Nikkor 24-120.) The 18-55 is a little faster than the 18-135 but the extra reach and the weatherproofing make the 18-135 the one that lives on my X-T1. In fact, at 55mm the 18-135 is f/4.7, so even that advantage is minimal. If I feel I NEED anything faster, I'll dig the 18mm f/2 out for the extra stop. Most of the X-T1's use is on Summer holidays so there's usually either plenty of light or a suitable support available.

How is the 135 optically? Considering having one just so I have a weatherproof backup for jobs like tomorrow's. Currently the Fuji gets bagged and the LX5 gets soaked!
 
Anyone used or got the Samyang 50mm 1.4 for Fuji Mount?
 
Regarding the baby talk, we went 14 days over, a distant memory now though (well, 7 months!) and I now have this little happy face to photograph every day...

I find the X-T1 / 23mm 1.4 perfect, fast enough AF (he constantly bounces up and down in this thing, but the Fuji never misses) but small enough to take out everywhere with us...every ounce counts when out and about with him (he doesn't travel particularly light!)

It took me two days to get mine from Clifton cameras,they said they had to wait to get stock in but we're very quick.

Plenty sharp enough (as you'd expect from any of the Fuji lenses!) and well controlled distortion. Can't think of any real downside compared to the 18-55 other than the extra weight and bulk but IMO the extra versatility that the more than doubled range gives is worth the weight!
 
Just to change the subject slightly, and apologies if this was covered in the earlier stages of this thread, has anyone been using the video function of the X-T1? The photos I posted of Mrs fabs riding were because she wanted to check out her position. She's since had a lesson and is currently doing her 'homework' and she's asked me to take some more photos so she can have a before & after. I thought she might find some video footage helpful as well.

Thing is, having come from a 7 year old DSLR, I never had the video functionality so I've never used it on a DSLR. Assuming that the methodology on a CSC in similar, does anyone have any tips & tricks to help me get started?

I find it does the trick. It's not a lens you'll fall in love with, but it is sharp, has a useful range and the ois is good. I'd definitely buy it again.

They have the X-T1 and the 18-55 in stock at the mo and wth the discount code its £854 or the X-T1 and the 18-135 for £989 with the paypal12 code. I apid £650 for my X-T1 from WEX, 2nd user but like new. The deal from the fuji store meant I could have bought the 18-135mm for an extra £340, a good deal methinks
