The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

So excited I just had to share - my wrist operation was done on Sunday and has been plated and screwed. No that isn't the exciting thing, but being able to move my fingers is, especially the index shutter release finger! I'm going to try it out tomorrow.

I went to Cardiff on Wednesday/Thurs to see my son and just had to use my phone instead (although was quite pleased with that too), but an excuse to go back again with the camera again.

Donna thats good news, best of luck in a continuing good recovery, don't do too much too soon (as one who has a heavily plated and screwed ankle), and be wary of the cold, with a significant amount of metal in there you will feel the cold.

Well I've moved on from ILC X series equipment, I've spent 8 years shooting it and really enjoyed it, but this year since buying a GFX and more MF film gear, I've hardly touched the X-H1, so last week I sold it and the lenses, all I'm left with is an X-M1/pinhole lens and my beloved X100 and X100F, so I will still be posting images here!

My wife still has an X-T20 (XF23mm F2 and 18-55mm), so I can still get a fix if needed. I interested to see where Fuji take the X series cameras, but having been seduced by the IQ from the GFX, I doubt I'll get one again.

Interestingly I roadtested a Leica Q2 earlier this week as after my GFX incident - https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/threads/digital-medium-format-thread.699936/post-9015993 I wondered if I should get a Q2, but IMO its IQ is a long way behind the GFX, but is a step up from an X100F (but not a £3.5K step up!!, it was beautifully made though, and felt good in the hand). I came to my senses and yesterday ordered a replacement GFX and a couple of lenses.

I definitely still be posting in here, hopefully giving out useful advice and keeping some of you in check!

Ahhhh I thought you were from Glasgow. It looks like it was the NCP near central station as I've just noticed in one of your photos the sign for The Lighthouse. Did you go into The Lighthouse? It's got a cool spiral staricase which is well photographed and you get to see a 360 view of the city as well. It's a similar height to the NCP but a bit higher I think and not obscured by other buildings. Head up next time you're in the city if you didn't get to go :)

Thanks for the advice, I didn't go in there but I've made a note for next time I go. Do you think a 16mm lens would be a good shout for the staircase? Any other recommendations for next time I'm there?

One from this morning... Nothing very exciting, but at least i`m taking pix again :)

That's "GREAT" news Donna, so glad everything's gone so well for you and you're on the way to a full recover. (y)

I need to break this loss of mojo BS real soon, got some nice lenses here [35F2, Laowa 65mm macro and a Nikon 200 F4 that I adapt] and haven't shot anything in weeks! Autumn is usually my fav time of year to photograph but this year it's just not kicked in for me yet .... must ... get ... out ... there

I had a suddenly empty Saturday afternoon so took a trip in the pouring rain to the newly opened Northern line tube station at Battersea Power Station. It is a typical concrete and steel station but worth a couple of snaps

Belting down with rain today, so what better time to dig out the old Converse...

Very nice still life type shot Paul, this one works for me really well.

The X-T2 + Kit Lens can still get some decent shots :)

I took the X-T2 and kit lens to this out-door fashion shoot on Saturday due to the (horrible) weather.
These was taken close to 5pm, outside The Ritz using the available light (down lights above the windows) with the in camera white balance set to around 5700 in order to get a warm orange glow to the shot., deliberately dark to give the night time feel to them.

The 16mm would be beneficial but you might not get it all all in. I suppose it depends on what look you're after. I think you'll need a bit wider to get it all in. Enjoy.

Taken yesterday on a trip up to Glasgow, these lot were taken at the university. Got more to process and post :D All on the x-t30 + 16mm f2.8
There's somewhere a bit like this in (I think) Lincolns Inn (@tijuana taxi would know exactly where) where I spectacularly managed to miss a shot of a barrister coming out of chambers. Your shots remind me of it.

I do know where it is and you are right Tim with Lincolns Inn.
Strangely enough I was there at the end of last month having a wander.
Unfortunately they are doing building work and its very dark under those vaulted ceilings.
Went on a tour of the disused Kingsway Tram tunnel then had a stroll afterwards.

"Ornate Street Light"

Just a simple tourist type Fujigraph taken at London UK of an Electric Street Light that kinda resembles an old style Gaslight.
I've deliberately gone for a slightly darker moody presentation as I feel it just suits this particular snap.

Is anyone else doing the Fujifilm Printlife Exhibition? I submitted a few photos and got a code to get some free 8x10 prints, so worth looking at if you want some prints.
