I suspect as Fuji widened their lens portfolio, the opportunity for sales will have diminished

it is a major factor for some of us. Me for example, I tend to stick to 2-3 lenses max at any time, I'm on a tight budget. I like good glass and I don't mind paying up when it's absoloutely worth it though. Much rather have 2 very good lenses than 3-4 average. Like the 16 1.4, I could have at least 2 other lenses for what I could sell that for [locally] but that one is justified. For me the Zeiss wouldn't be over the other 35mm options for the other reasons I stated

Now in saying that, I have been urging to try the 90F2, and the only way I could swing that right now would be to sell the 16mm. In that case the 35 1.4 would be on the cards, I'd trade my 50F2 for one.

Right now that;s my pair, 16 1.4, 50F2, and apart from now and then wishing I had a decent tele option, they cover me for just about anything else. If I was to trade, my pairing would be the 35 1.4 and 90F2, an equally solid pair I think, different, but I don't mind switching things up now and then

I found it very good for group shots, but not so much for single person portraits, I think I just find that FL a bit awkward for this purpose. Not used it near enough for people yet maybe

I am not a huge fan of the 100-400, but I love all the other lenses I have, the 10-24 is superb IMO.
 
As we're on the 35/1.4 theme, here's a first shot with my 1.4 version from October 2014, accidentally taken at f/1.8, don't ask me why...

I used it for when I had the background in the shot. It's an amazing venue and using the 16 made the most of that
 
I feel confident I have spent my money well :) If I need to get the F2 version for video in the new year I'll have a look at that ...

Nope no flash. Just lying on the floor to steady the camera. Just goes to show even the cheap Fuji lenses are sublime.

Superb shots Steve, my gripe was, I wanted it for aircraft and it simply couldn't keep up with the Typhoon display where as the wifes 50-140 with1.4tc didn't miss a shot, hence the reason me swapping to the 50-140 and not looking back, still fancy the 100-400 just for birds but dont think I would use one enough to justify buying another.

I guess only you can answer that. I've got a nice full frame set up now but may ditch it all for fuji.
 
Well, I've gone for it. I've bought myself an X-Pro1 and an XC18-50 lens and I have to say that i'm really impressed with the camera and the lens. I've also got hold of a lens adapter so that I can use my Sigma 10-24 (Nikon fit) with the camera.

Hopefully i'll be able to post some images into this thread that will match uop with the fantastic quality of those already in here.

Now to get on, in earnest, and sell my Nikon kit to pay for my new 'habit' !

Welcome to the world of Fuji Jim, you will love the little XC16-50mm as imo it`s a cracker of a lens.

You're quite right! As someone who loves landscapes those extra 2mm will make a lot of difference!
 
We sadly said goodbye to our second cat this year today. Scout developed a growth just a couple of weeks back, she had surgery to remove it but unfortunately the cancer had spread, rapidly. We had her put to sleep this evening, very sad for the kids [and us] - she was 6 1/2 years young. Will miss her posing for me. One of my most popular images on Flickr is of her from this summer - X-H1 with a Canon 50mm 1.8 adapted:

Thanks, appreciate that. We've just had no luck this year. We buried her older sister Scrappy back in late January. Best fed and pampered cats I ever known but nothing you can do to fight dreaded cancer. This time around it happened so fast too, I'd just bought her a fresh stock of 'Gourmet' cat food 2 days ago ... And when I think how selfish I am here pondering on new lenses, we didn't have to think twice to spend €700 on her treatment and unfortunate put to rest. Puts things in perspective.

Also in street photography as I have read about, it does not have to have a person in the image at all. If your an image can show that people may have been in it then good enough, for me though street photography can be very big too.

That is precisely how we thought of them too, part of the family. One was almost 10, this one would have been 7 in April. Both will be side by side end of the garden though :)

Would love to see some images taken using the sigma 10-20, used to have one with my D7100. Be nice to try one on Fuji
