Today I finally got the lens of my dreams and added this beautiful beast to my collection..:D

The downside is today we have the usual English weather.... Dark stormy clouds and teeming it down with rain..:bang:

But I grabbed this seagull in between the showers..

Eh!!!!! Can you ever have enough kit Renee..

I thought this was photography we were talking about..:D

Lovely! Who's a lucky boy then? Hope you are happy with the new lens. Do you need a crane to lift it?

Very happy thanks, As for lifting the thing I have a friend called Renee who might carry it for me..

You sound like a very happy (but poor) boy.

Very good shot.

Enjoy your new glass

Well done

It is a great lens...you will even be able to hand hold it after you have been to the gym for a few months

Been hand holding the 300mm f/2.8L for some time now..;)

The 500mm was hand held for this shot too..

It is actually almost the same weight as the 200mm f/1.8L but with it being longer it feels much lighter..

You mean there was a lens you didnt have ;)

Nice investment, the sample pic says it all really regarding quality - congratulations

Took mine on safari so not much room in the jeep so either handheld or used girlfriends shoulder :D

Remarkably easy to use handheld

really nice shot and the lens looks like the hubble telescope, you gets what you pay for with fast glass.

Need pics of the lens tbh

You do cause me some work Joe..

Here ya go then the 500mm stood next to my 300mm F/2.8L...

Painting your walls to match the colour of your lens is a nice touch.

:canon:

 ... Yeah can blow the lenses in when they get scratched..:D

And the kid playing the guitar in my sig...AWESOME..

Jealousy comes to mind :(

Very nice Tim, just a shame the weather is so dire at the moment, at least spring and hopefully decent light isn't far away :)

Can't wait to see some of your shots from this.

Gosh Tim ... thats a biggun!

Nice shot too
Bet if you passed that crappy 85 f1.2 to me ... you'd feel a whole lot better about freeing up some space for your new brute! :D

Consider it yours Glo..

how on earth do you guys get shots of the birds in flight? I was trying this for a couple hours yesterday and found it was almost impossible for the auto-focus to lock on them and my manual focus skills are almost non-existant. anyway, I got a lot of blue sky shots and that's how I noticed my sensor was dirty. :(

Edit: Oh. Excellent shot there, Tim. :P I'm really jealous! Both of your lens and skill!
